M2N78-LA Motherboard BIOS did not detect any Hard Drive

Hi,
I have M2N78-LA Motherboard and the BIOS did not detect ANY hard drive
I tried
1- Replaced the HD with another one.  did not work
2- Changed the jumper of HD. did not work
3- Changed the SATA data cable and power cable. did not work.
4- Reset the BIOS by removing the battery and also by positioning the cmos jumber. did not work.
I still all time get no hard drive detected, and some time jam on Detecting storage devices ....
then after hours get no booting device.
Any Idea will be good

M2N78-LA Motherboard BIOS  did not detect any Hard Drive, does anyone have an answer to this problem.

I have an HP ProBook 4540s running Windows 7 Professional w/IE11. I had to do a clean install of Windows 7 Pro and since then I cannot get my fingerprint reader to work at all. In my Control panel, under Biometric Devices, I recieve the message "Windows did not detect any biometrics devices on this computer". However, under Computer , Properties, Device Manager, Biometric Devices,  the is Validity Sensors (WBF) (PID=003d).
I have tried to update, uninstall, re-install HP Simplepass, drivers, etc from the HP website, but nothing is working. Also I cannot find exactly what fingerpriint reader hardware is installed on the computer even though it is physically there as part of the original configuration.
I appreciate any assistance in resolving this issue.

  • Windows did not detect any networking hardware, Windows 7, New Hard Drive

Message "Windows did not detect any networking hardware"
    Satellite P505 S8980 Windows 7 Home Premium.
I replaced the Toshiba 500 GB HD with 500 GB Seagate.
Device Manager icon for any device with yellow exclamation mark,
Click on "Update Driver".  Lan eNet details as follows:
    Antheo - R8132 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20)
Browse to the folder where the setup program has the driver...
Message: "The best driver software is already installed."
(But the yellow exclamation mark still harasses me.)
--- Go to "Setup new connection" ---
    "Choose a connection option"
Click on "Connect to the Internet"
Response: "Windows did not detect networking hardware"
As near as I can tell, that translates from error 0x8E5E0247
I have this same error on other yellow exclamation marks respective of what kind of device it is.
=> To test my sanity, I put the old hard drive (same size) back in and except for the impact of slowness due to error retries, everything works okay.
    Note:
Same issue (hardware not detected) for Video adapter and Audio.
I bought new USB Wireless adapter to test, and the driver installed but not activated because "not digitally signed", and that same issue fits all the above hardware.  I down loaded them from Toshiba, and they are confirmed installed, but not accepted with digitally signed.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled with same results.
    Solved!

I'm discovering I am not as well as I thought... running on the  AF hard drive which was built with a copy drive from old format drive which was the product of system recovery disc set.
Review for context: Advanced Function HDD
Scenario that exposes harm caused by cloning data from 4K blocks drive to 512 bytes blocked drive (AF)
Toshiba supplied Windows-7 System Restore Discs: to factory state
Then I built the Windows-7 Repair  Disc... used later.
Hard drive was replaced when it caused SMART warning at every system boot.
Acronis was only utility that quickly detected problem (3 sectors had permanent read errors.) Active@Disk Image and Power Quest Drive Image (Ghost) did not detect the issue.
I tried Seagate 500 GB and Western digital 500 GB HDD drives as copy target.
That new drive would not boot: "Required source not found"
Booted My newly created Windows-7 repair disc, and used to to fix startup.
    See images.
That worked and then the ST9500423AS disc booted.
Now... next day I discovered Window Update is not working.
    I get message:
Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You need to restart your computer.
I ran Microsoft Fixit for updates.  It says it fixed two items.
    I still have the problem.
    The service shows "started"
Control Panel/ ACTION Center/ Maintenance/ Check for Updates
     "No action needed"
"Windows Update does not require any action"
    I checked  Update History...
... It is empty, else window is vacant... blank.
Soooo..... for a sanity check, I swap out hard drive; go back to the old format (which is the one I copied).
It works!  7 updates to install, including SP1... but I did NOT install them.
Switch back to the AF drive... Update doesn't work. I am broke again.
Is this another strange problem caused by the Advance Format issue?
    What to do?
By the way... I did install an Intel storage Matrix driver  update, but I do not have RAID chip, so that driver is not for me... unless I missed out on something.

    Hello Partii,
It sounds like you may use a POP account for your email.  With a POP account, email applications like Mail and Outlook can remove emails from the server, so when another device tries to check the server for new emails, it doesn't see any.
You may need to adjust settings in Outlook so that the emails are not removed from the server when downloaded.  I found an article with more information:
When using a POP email account with multiple devices, email messages may only appear on the first device that receives them. This occurs when an email client is configured to automatically remove email from the server once an email client has received it. You can configure your email client (or clients) either to keep a copy of the email on the server, remove it after a certain number of days have passed, or keep it until you move it from your Inbox.
I recommend reviewing the full article for steps on adjusting these settings; you can find the full article here:

  • Setup did not find any hard disk drive in your computer

I have an old Compaq Presario 7598 Desktop (Windows XP) which I use as a backup machine. Recently when I tried to start it I am getting "Unable to access hard disk,. Operating system not found on any devices". Then when I tried to start with XP Boot Disk (CD), I am getting "Setup did not find any hard disk drive in your computer".
Can someone help me to resolve this issue?
    Thanks.

Repeatedly tap the F10 key at boot, you should see information for the hard disk.

  • Setup did not find any hard disks installed in your computer

OK, I spent about 30 minutes looking for a solution to this and haven't found anything. I'm too lazy to keep looking, and I need to get back to work...
    Setup info:
    -Mac Pro (Early 2008)
    -Dual 3.2Ghz processors
    -32GB RAM
-RAID Card with four 1TB drives attached (RAID 5 with two volumes: one Mac OS X 10.5.3 and one Mac OS X Server 10.5.3)
-320GB SATA drive that originally came with the unit in hard drive bay 1, now installed in the 2nd optical drive bay and connected to the 5th internal SATA port. It's partitioned with BootCamp: 32.88GB for Mac OS X 10.5.3 (installed and running, used to create the BootCamp partition) and 264.71GB available for Windows.
    Windows install disc:
Took my Windows XP SP1 install disc and used nLite to slipstream SP2 and SP3 and burn a new install disc.
When I boot into the Windows install disc, everything goes fine, until it actually gets to the part where I should be selecting my hard drive (Hit Enter to Install Windows) for installation. Instead , when I hit enter, I get the message that "+Setup did not find any hard disks installed in your computer. blah, blah, blah, hit F3 to restart.+"
I'm assuming this is a SATA issue and that I need to get a SATA driver slipstreamed into my install disc so that the Windows installer will see the SATA drive.
Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Everything I've read says that that won't work because I have the RAID card.
Sounds like I'm out of luck, if BootCamp can't be installed on a SATA drive not connected to one of the original 4 bays.
Also, I'm concerned about taking the RAID drives out (I'd have to take all 4 out or it corrupts the RAID setup when I stick the one back in) then putting them back in and having everything return to an All Good status.

  • Windows XP re-installation does not recognize any hard drive - help

    Hi,
    I have X60s Model: 17044JU
    I have original XP installed.
My computer is very slow and I am trying to reinstall XP from my CD (and format HD so I clean everything).
When Windows installations blue screen shows up and loads drivers etc then it tells me that it does not recognize any hard drive.
I thought I may need SCSI or RAID drivers but since I don't have floppy I can not load them.
Any help how to install new XP would be appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hi
I changed BIOS setup from AHCI to Compatibility and indeed it worked.
However there is easier way to reload new system on thinkpad.
I didn't know that but you can press ThinkVantage button when you start your laptop and IBM utilities start up.
Then there is an option to reload the system to be in original state as shipped from the factory. It loads or drivers and initial programs. It also formats your hard drive.
    I found it pretty convenient.
    Thanks for help.

  • IBook Not Detecting Internal Hard Drive

So, this morning my computer started acting slowly, and apps started freezing. I restarted, and to my horror found that it wouldn't boot. It starts, and the screen is gray, but then nothing happens. I have discovered that the problem must be the iBook not detecting the hard drive. I booted into a linux live CD, and found that it could access the HD. Then when I turned my comp off, and went into select boot drive mode by holding option on startup, I found that no hard drives were listed to boot from. I have also tried connecting to my computer via firewire from another computer, and that couldn't detect it either. What is the problem here? I am becoming very nervous all my work is on there. Thanks for the help.

Try booting from the Apple Restore disk and run the Apple Hardware Test that is on that disk. I fear that it may confirm a failure of your hard drive, but you never know until you try.

  • WSE2012R2 Dashboard Stoage Tab Does Not Show ANY Hard Drives or Folders

I have been using WSE2012 for nearly two years as a "home" server. I recently decided to upgrade to R2. After spending several days trying to "migrate" to R2 without any success, I finally did a fresh install to my original system drive
(a 240Gb Samsung 840 Evo SSD). The install went well until I checked all of my data drives (4x2Tb, 2x1Tb, 1x3Tb and a 2Tb "storage spaces" drive). I found that only three of the drives were online and useable. The "storage spaces" drives
were not even visible in Disk Manager and all of the other drives were "offline". After doing a lot of searching with Google, I finally figured out how to make the "offline" drives "Online" with PowerShell. With much more searching,
I also finally figured out how to "bring back" the "storage spaces" drives with about four lines of PowerShell code so I thought I was finally home free... But no such luck. I then had a lot of trouble restoring my "ServerFolders"
although everything else seemed to be working. I also had rebooted several times while working on these things without any issues. After finishing up yesterday, I planning to finish working on the "ServerFolders" earlier today.
I ran into a problem right away, however, when I opened the Dashboard and went to the Storage tab only to find that NONE of the Hard Drives and "Server Folders" showed up. I had an alert that the "Server Storage Service" was
NOT running. I checked and found it to be "stopped" and in "manual" mode. After starting the service, the Storage Tab showed that it was being refreshed. After a lengthy wait, it never did refresh and the "Server Folders" item
on the Home Tab showed "N/A". I tried rebooting again. When the server came up, I checked the service again and found it to be running (although it was still on "manual")... But once again, Storage Tab never did refresh properly and still
showed nothing. This time I changed the service to "Auto" and also tried "Restarting" the service, to no avail. I rebooted again. This time, when it came back up, I first checked the service again and it was running and still on "Auto".
Before opening the Dashboard, I checked the "Files and Storage" section in "Server Manager" and everything looked good. All of my hard drives and my "storage spaces" drive appeared with no apparent issues so I thought that everything
was finally OK... Wrong!!!!! I opened the Dashboard and went back to the Storage Tab only to find that it still would NOT refresh so that NONE of my hard drives or folders were showing. I am totally lost at the moment. How can everything actually be there
and okay but NOT appear in the Dashboard which, by the way, was working fine yesterday -- and I did not make any changes whatsoever between yesterday and starting to work on the system today. I am totally lost. Can anyone please help me resolve this
    issue?????
    Denis W. Repke

PROBLEM SOLVED. As I was just getting ready to "bite-the-bullet" and reinstall 2012 R2, I discovered something that led me to the solution. When I was previously trying to restart the Windows Storage Service, I "thought" it was restarting
okay. I was restarting it by right-clicking on the service. When I "started" it this way without opening up the service properties, it would immediately change from "stopped" to "running". What I did not realize was that the service
was quickly stopping "without" refreshing the screen so that "running" was still displayed even though the service had stopped. Once I realized that the service was not actually restarting, I tried another Google search based on this fact
which led me to some forum threads that helped me solve the problem since I found others with essentially the same problem. I found two corrupted registry keys under Windows Server\Storage Services. One of the keys was a major entry, the other was in the "Folders"
subfolder. After deleting BOTH keys, the service restarted without any issues and my drives and folders reappeared in the dashboard. A reboot was "not" required. What a pain! But everything is good now.

  • P35 motherboard suddenly not detecting IDE hard drive

    Hi,
    I have a P35 MSI platinum motherboard. E6750 Core 2 duo 2.6HZ cpu, 2 x 1GB DDR2 ram,a standard DVD R/W, a 400GB Hitachi Deskstar HDD, a GTS 8800 graphics card and running Ultimate vista (oem).
She's been running fine for over a year.
Yesterday - I turned her on and although on initial boot up you can see '400GB PATA' , and the MSI loading screen vista won't load and screen is blank.
I put in the vista disk for repair but at the point where it shows your operating system - that space is empty.
So I went into BIOS and the HDD is not being detected at all.
I toggled some of the IDE settings but still no go.
Both my HDD and the DVD R/W are on the iDE ribbon cable. DVD seems to be working fine and, as stated above, HDD has been working fine for a year until yesterday.
Any ideas as to how I can get BIOS to re-discover the HDD? OR any ideas why it isn't being discovered now  (after all this time)?
Also - to get everything back up and try to recover some of the data off my IDE HDD I am thinking about buying a SATA HDD, reinstalling windows and working from there. Any reason why this shouldn't work?
Finally - IF that works, I have a number of IDE drives lying around that I'd like to connect up to the MSI p35 - but at the moment the ribbon cable I have only has two connectors (currently used by by DVD R/W and my rebellious IDE HDD).  Is it possible to add say 2 more IDE drives? would I need to get a ribbon cable with more connectors? Or is it not possible and IDE cables only come with 2 connectors anyway?
Any help much appreciated - I am not exactly a noob but I have nowhere near the skill levels of some of you guys - really appreciate your thoughts.
    Cheers,

Can you hook up the hard drive to a working computer and run chkdsk (Checkdisk) and fixmbr (or a similar tool)?  Try to access and backup any important data on the drive before you check its data/partition structure for integrity.

  • USB has power, but not detecting any USB drive. Also crazy trackpad.

I own a 2012 Macbook Pro, and I am running OS X Version 10.9.4 on it. Everything was working fine until last week, when the USB ports stopped working. Now, the USB ports still have power because the lights in my USB drive and external hard disk turn on when I insert them into the system. However, the OS X is not able to detect any of these devices as well as my USB mouse. I have Windows 7 installed on bootcamp, but there is no USB response in Windows 7 as well.
I have done the SMC and PRAM reset, as suggested on numerous other discussions, but there were no improvements.
To add to all this, the trackpad on my macbook started going berserk. The pointer has started to randomly click and drag, while I am not even touching the trackpad. It is extremely hard to move cursor to a particular folder, because the cursor will click and drag a lot of times, while it has reached its destination. Also, the trackpad acts insensitive in certain regions. I tried cleaning the trackpad (as suggested on other discussions), but the problem goes away only temporarily. It seems, after using it for a couple of hours, the problem is back again.
With USB and trackpad not responding, it is getting hard to pass the first week of school. I took it to IT department at my school, they checked it for a couple of minutes, and told me that I'll have to shell out $280 for sending it to Apple Depot. I'll really appreciate any kinda help!
    Thanks for your time!

    Hi @Ak7
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are having trouble with your USB ports not recognizing most devices. I am happy to assist with this.
Since it just recently started to happen, I would normally recommend starting with a system restore to a point before the problem began. (say about a week ago or longer if possible) Unfortunately you have already done a reinstall, so there should not be any useful restore points to use.
Presumably you already backed up any data you could before reinstalling windows, and if so, then you could try a system recovery, which would restore the factory image of the notebook. Give it a try and let me know if it makes any difference.
