M35X - fan start but the unit shuts down after just 3 sec
Hi, i have a Toshiba M35X and when i press ON it starts but in 2 or 3 seconds it shuts off....
i already changed the memory and processor, but nothing.....
sometimes the main chipset harms sometimes not, the processor idem....

Maybe is the problem just overheating? Try to clean up the unit. It is also possible that you didnt exchange processor properly and there is no enough cooling paste. In this case the processor can burn out in just few seconds of work.
Sorry but you should check the unit by technicians. On this way we can just speculate about possible causes.

Without proper system information and other details nobody can tell you anything. If the program shuts down after a while then presumably it fails to verify your activation, so refer to this:

I just upgraded to Snow Leopard then Lion and the computer shut down after installation.
Now when it starts up it gets as far as the apple icon and then shuts down again
whenever I turn it on it loads that far and then closes.
HELP!Restore your bootable backup/clone or Time Machine backup of Snow Leopard, launch Disk Utility from the install disc, repair the boot volume, and reinstall Lion.

Hello One Job at a time,
Deleting the application will not delete your projects.
Normally I keep all my work files on a separate drive.
If you command click on the title name of your project you will get a drop down path to show you the location of your book project.
or you can click on the drop down triangle beside its name to duplicate.
Just remember where you saved the file too.
In your applications folder on your computer select the iBA icon and press delete and also erase / empty the trash can.
You can then go back to the APP STORE and install iBA from new again.

I am having problems with Firefox. When I click on the shortcut, or the .exe file nothing happens. I check task manager to see if it is running and it does not show Firefox is running.
But when I shut down the computer then the browser shows up right before the computer shuts down. I have tried starting the browser in safe mode and the same thing happens. IPad starts (only the logo shows up) but shuts down after approximately 10 secs.
My iPad turns on, the apple shows up and shuts down immediatly afterwards. It does the same thing on and on until the battery runs out. I've tried everything written on the net and on your site (recovory mode etc..). Help anyone? Thank you !

My powerbook starts fine boots the system. gets as
far as when the system shows the right hand dropdown
menus then blacks out. some times the screen flickers
first. It then will not start again unless I reset
the PMU. then It starts fine only to repeat the
problem.
I have tried it with another adapter, and its the
same.
I've tried several PMU resets, and pram reset.
unplugged it for several hours with he battery out
programmmers button etc. But the problem persists.
Any suggestions at all are welcome
further to my first description, the powerbook will run start up of the battery the go to permanent sleep after a few minutes.
also and wierdly, its will run ok with the power plugged in for as long as the battery charge lasts. Then it does something similar to sleep. but without thesleep light.

My Mac Pro is doing some weird things on random time frames, for example:
-For 4-6 months it works perfectly, I mean it never shuts down unexpectedly and it goes to sleep mode without a problem but after that it goes back to this weird phase and after 2-3 days back to normal.
In the last 3 years I have replaced the following components:
Graphic Card (from Nvidia GeForce 8800GT to ATI Radeon HD 5770)
Memory (From 10 GB to 32 GB)
2x New Riser Cards
New Power Supply
New HDD
Logic Board Battery
With all these replacements I still have this issue, do you think the Logic Board is causing that?

I have made dozens of movies with this card. Suddenlly the camera automatically shuts down video recording after just a few seconds. I've made dozens of movies with this card. Reformatted card. Still happens.
Sounds like a bad memory card. Have you tried another card?

Regards JimLinc has suggested you use Disk Utility "Repair Permissions". This is one of the few obscure cases where "Repair Permissions" should be exactly the right solution.
For almost every other routine problem, the Disk Utility function "Repair Disk" is the right choice, and "Repair Permissions" is just a distraction. -
I think I just need a hard reboot to clean out all the junk on this phone. Without any manuals or any real useful info online from apple on older phones this is my only real outlet.

Cleaned Fan, Now Laptop Shuts Down After 1 hr.
I own a pavilion dv5 1140tx laptop and for the past few months it has been really overheating and so I decided to open it up and clean the fan. This laptop is really poorly designed since you have to completely dismantle it to get to the fan. Like I had to take out the HDD, Monitor, Mothe Board, Optical Drive, everything!!!
Anyway I cleaned out the fan which had a considerable amount of dust in it (its 3 years old) and then I peiced it back together. After that it seemed that the fan was running a bit more smoothly and there was far less heat coming from the laptop, I turened it on and everything works the same but after about an hour of use it shuts itself down just as it would if it were overheating, but it isn't anywhere near as hot as it used to get.
I set it to a balanced power setting, and changed the BIOS so that the fan isn't constantly running and that seems to have helped it but it still shuts down after a while!
Might it be that the heat sink isn't close enough to the CPU and so the CPU over heats before the heat can disapate into the heatsink? Anyone else have this problem?Hi Mario,
Before cleaning the fan with an air duster can, I restored the computer to factory settings. It was only after that my laptop started shutting down shortly after start-up. It stopped doing that eventually, but what I did to prevent overheating is I sprayed the fan's underneath the laptop with air from an air duster can to remove any possible dust clogging, thereby causing the fun to work much harder than it normally should, and it seems to be running fine now. I haven't had any problems with start-up, and in fact, when in use, it doesn't make as much noise at is use to. My laptop used to ramp up the fan speed quite often because not enough heat was being expelled from the laptop. Luckily, it doesn't do that anymore.
Doing further research led me to a video called: "Reducing Heat and Fan Noise in Desktop and Notebook PC's" on HP's support page.
If anyone ever does research on the same issue and this post ends up as a result to what you are researching for, than I suggest what Mario said, but also watch the video I referenced above by following this link:
