M40-133 Bluetooth - Belkin F8T001 V1

Hi There
Thought my wifes Satellite M40-133 had Bluetooth.. Obviously not... No Bluetooth Sticker..
Installed Belkin F8T001 (Version 1) but it is not recognised and ANY USB slot. I've downloaded and installed the latest software from the Belkin support site for the F8T001 - When you click in the "Hardware" tab of the "Bluetooth Configuration" window, there is no device(s) listed and all of the fields are set to "na".
I've tried the F8T001 in all three USB slots with similar results. I've also installed and successfully used the F8T001 in my Windows 2000 based PC. Ergo, I'm happy that the F8T001 itself works.
Any thoughts anyone?
Regards
Peter

Hello Peter
A friend of mine has the same notebook and use also BTUSB stick. It is not Belkin but I really dont know who the producer is. Anyway the USB stick is recognized properly and it works very well. It is possible that the Belkin one need more power supply.
If there is any possibility try a BT USB stick from other producer. Sorry but I have no other idea at the moment.
If the hardware is not recognized after connecting then there is some hardware problem and I dont believe that it can be solved with software. Check also manuals. Maybe the software must be installed before you connect it to the notebook.

  • Satellite M40-133: startup issue after shutdown

When shutting down my Satellite M40-133 EN if I start it up again all I get is the Toshiba wellcome screen.
If it is left for some time it will startup as normal. When running it is quite warm.
    Please help.

For me it sounds like an issue related to the overheating.
It seems the notebook cannot start and boot properly due to a high internal temperature.
The main reason why a overheating issue happens is very simply.
The cooling modules dont work correctly. I think the dust and debris prevent the cooling fans from running with full performance.
A simply fan cleaning should help you.
From time to time I clean my ventilators too. I use a compressed air spray. Such sprays are very useful to get rid of dust and most computer/notebook dealers offer such sprays.
If it will not improve the situation then a notebook technician should disassemble the notebook and should clean it properly. Additionally he should renew the thermal grease which is placed between the CPU and cooling module, too.
    Good luck

  • Staying connected to Bluetooth (Belkin Bluetooth music receiver)

I play my iPad's music over my kitchen speakers by sending the iPad's audio to a Belkin bluetooth music receiver, which is connected to the speakers.
It all works well as long as the iPad stays within the Belkin's Bluetooth zone. The iPad can turn off, go to sleep etc. and when it wakes it is auto-connected to the Belkin BT receiver.
However, as soon as I carry the iPad outside of the Belkin's BT zone, the connection is lost. When i return to the BT zone, the iPad and the Belkin receiver do not re-connect. To reestablish a connection, I need to go back into Settings/General/Bluetooth and click on the listed device (which is labelled as "Not connected"). That reconnects the iPad and Belkin receiver, and all is well until the next time I carry the iPad out of the Belkin's range.
Any thoughts on how I can make this auto-connect when I return to the Belkin BT zone?
    Thanks in advance. Neil

I have the same problem. Apparenly the Belkin BT music receiver doesn't support auto connect. Which is a massive shame.

  • Not Shy's Guide - Potentially Fix Bluetooth Belkin mini bluetooth :(

    Can any one hepl with
    IOUSBFamily.kext???
I dont know how to edit and replace this file with new one my new belkin mini wont start up with mac pro needs puling out every time
    This is tutorial
I have found this task as a great learning experience and I am keen that other people learn from it too.
S/L/E - is System/Library/Extensions - please go to your snow leopard install drive and nagivate through those folders - there you will find the IOBluetoothFamily.kext
Please copy that to a safe place (create a folder in Documents or something) and also copy it to your desktop.
On the one on your desktop - right click or CTRL click and go to Open Package contents on that kext that you've copied - navigate through the folders to plugs-ins, open the relevant kext's contents again and find the relevant info.plist in your favourite text editor.
If you have a look in there then you will see a whole bunch of information in the IOKitPersonalities section - and you will see a repeating pattern of entries - similar to the one that I have shown. Then therei s clearly a vendor ID and product ID section in the code that I posted.
The reason I haven't posted mine was because as you will read at the start of my post - I tried to use someone elses kext and install it and it didn't work on my system. What worked as to take me kext and to add my bluetooth chip into the current driver.
Sorry - I hope this helps but I'd like people to learn the method so that they can apply it for their specific chip set type and IDs.
Please post again if you need more help with the details of what you have tried.
Also if you back up your original kext - you can restore it using KextBeast.
If you really break the kext - then boot in safe mode (Type "-x" at Chamelon screen) and you can restore your kext using kext beast - repair cache - reboot and all will be good.
    Thats my bluetooth info:
    Vendor ID:          0
    Product ID:          0x7fff
    Thanks!!!!

  • Mac OS 10.5.5 and Belkin USB Bluetooth Adapter

I upgraded to Mac OS 10.5.5. this morning and upon restart I lost the ability to turn on Bluetooth (Belkin USB bluetooth adapter). The adapter is visible to the computer, but it can no longer be turned on so I can benefit from its use. I checked Belkin's site -- no upgrade there. I believe it is an OS 10.5.5. issue since it worked before the upgrade. I have tried looking at Bluetooth preferences -- the option to turn on is "greyed" out. File Sharing, Network, and Security system preferences were of no help. Anyone have any ideas.
    Thanks,
    Doug

    Hi there,
Did you ever resolve this problem, because I am having exactly the same problem with my Intel iMac running 10.5.5 and Belkin F8T012 USB Bluetooth.
I too have found that using "Bluetooth file exchange" seems to turn on Bluetooth, so thanks for that advice, but it's hardly acceptable is it?
I can plug the same USB into my laptop (running 10.4) and it turns on perfectly!

  • Satellite M40-237: How to connect the mobile phone with Bluetooth

    Hello Iva
A friend of mine has Satellite M40 and I know that this unit is delivered without BT module. If the unit has BT module you will find BT label on the bottom side of your notebook.
To establish BT connection with his mobile phone he uses BT USB stick.

  • I have a Belkin bluetooth keyboard attached to my Ipad 3. I would like to know if there is any way to have the arrow keys scroll down when browsing web pages?

I just got my Ipad 3rd generation a few days ago and for my case I got the bulky BELKIN Bluetooth keyboard. I notice that when I press down the arrow keys it does not seem to scroll down when searching a web browser or looking up web pages. However it works fine when scrolling down on office apps such as Pages. I'm wondering if is there a way to make the arrow keys on the keyboard scroll down when on an internet web page like my Mac does.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Belkin Bluetooth Headset Adapter

I am not happy with the stereo BT support on my MacbookPro (10.4x). I have a Belkin model F8T013 USB Bluetooth adapter and the documentation says go to Apple for the driver. I can not find it anywhere. Does anyone know were I can get the driver or if it even exists?
    Thanks
    Fred

Have you contacted Belkin for their support on this. Surely if they told you there is a driver they should have it at their web site support or know where it is. I would think that there is no separate driver but it would be built-in to the Mac OS.

  • Help with Nokia N70 + Belkin Bluetooth USB + OS 10.4.6

    Hello
I've seen previous threads relating to the problems Apple's Bluetooth File Exchange has in recognising/pulling up the contents of a Nokia N70. The advice for N70 users wishing to transfer their photos to the Mac has been to send photos individually from the Gallery in the N70. This process doesn't even work for me, despite the fact that Bluetooth File Exchange and iSync both recognise my phone just fine.
    My questions therefore are:
-- Is there a known solution to Bluetooth File Exchange's inability to list content of a Nokia N70?
-- Is there another Bluetooth application (shareware or other) that can do what the Bluetooth File Exchange can't (in this case)?
-- Why can't I send photos individually from the N70 to my Mac? Is my Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter (Class 2; v1.2) not the right thing?
    Help please!

It works fine for me, I can even mark several of them and send them in one operation.
Since you are concerned about your Adapter, why don't you try the procedure in a Mac with 1.4.7.

  • Bluetooth and Satellite M40

    I got a question:
Does my Satellite M40-265 has got the oppertunity for communicating with other Bluetooth-maschines?
If not, how can I do that? How much would it be to handle this?
    Nick

    Hi
Unfortunately, on this unit is no Bluetooth available.
In this case you can use a USB Bluetooth adapter or a Bluetooth PCMCIA Card.

  • Belkin Bluetooth not working in Mac Pro 2007

    Hi,
I've got a Mac pro 2007 and bought a Belkin Mini Bluetooth adapter via the Apple Store (http://store.apple.com/nl/product/TW622ZM/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY). I was hoping if I bought something from the Apple store It would work.
The mini adapter seems to work, Look at screenshot https://picasaweb.google.com/aseesink/Bluetooth#5598441276491332930 Apologize for the dutch screenprint, but the mark before "Detecteerbaar" can be translated by "detectable".
But if I look at the system preferences I see this: https://picasaweb.google.com/aseesink/Bluetooth#5598441278085536498 Translated it means Bluetooth is disabled. To use bluetooth you need to enable it. But both checks are grey and I cant change anything in this screen.
I did a check (without the belkin mini bluetooth adapter) on my Mac Book and it detects my Nokia telephone.
Using the Belkin mini bluetooth adapter in my Mac Pro it does not pickup any bluetooth signal.
I also tried to do a  PRAM reset in my Mac Pro, but that doesn't change anything.
In the system overview (about this mac) https://picasaweb.google.com/aseesink/Bluetooth#5598442444721135026 it looks like the adapter is working. But from my experience it is not working.
Is there anyone else who got this adapter working? Would love to use my magic mouse with it.
Thank you in advance for helping.
    Andre

    Problem solved!
I just found an interesting article here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/13263724#13263724
The part with bluetooth explorer worked for me.
I can see all my bluetooth devices now including my magic mouse.

  • Bluetooth audio receiver (Belkin) causes macbook built-in audio crash

When the macbook dont found that device, then a pop-up come sayin: "We didn't find your bluethoot audio" and there's only one option to choose and that is "Stop using bluetooth audio receiver".
