Yep, that one. I get it every time I open up Premiere. The error box reappears after a couple of seconds, then it keeps reappearing and stacking up until I close the program.
I've done the most recent updates (Vista and Adobe), and spent hours on the net reading and trying different solutions. To no avail.
I think this is a pretty common error, no? But from everything I've read, people get the error using PR mid-program. For me, I can't even open the program. After Effects also starts (as a process in Task Manager), but runs in the background.
I updated MS Office 2007 (big update) and also my NVIDIA drivers (after I started getting this error).

Would upgrading to a Quadro GPU help at all?

So, (considering my unwillingness to wreck my current setup), would this possibly help my performance:
OS: (2) 500GB internal SATA's in RAID 0 (as is)
Scratch Disk: (1) 500GB internal SATA (sort-of as is)
Media files Disk: (1) 1TB non-'green' internal SATA (new purchase)
My main question is: What's the main difference between a Scratch Disk and a Media Files Disk?
For instance, I have a newly captured clip (let's call it footage.mpeg). And I have music.mp3 and lotsofpictures.jpg. So would I store all three of those files on my Media Files Disk, or on the Scratch Disk? The Scratch Disk was just for rendered files I thought (like when you're working on a project and previewing it?)? And so is Premiere reading from my Media Files Disk to play footage.mpeg and then using the Scratch Disk to bounce files back and forth? Sorry if I'm not making ANY sense.
Is my suggested setup a dumb idea (bad investment)?
PS - this may be another problem: my Scratch Disk (Hitachi internal 500GB SATA) is an OEM drive shipped as running on SATA I for 'backwards capability' for older mobos. So, I downloaded the firmware updater from Hitachi and the updater wasn't working (locking up after booting from CD). I figured it would be fine. Well, SATA I runs at a much slower speed than SATA II (the new standard). But I was transferring files to and from the drive and my OS RAID configuration and Vista was reporting over 30MB/s sustained write speed. Which by the way is not SATA II (also called SATA 3.0Gbit/s). I think this may be causing some of my performance issues. What do you think? Normally, SATA II should run at 300MB/s (so they claim) SATA 3.0Gbit/s specs

Sorry a serious error has occurred

I am trying to open a wip project and I get the message 'Sorry a serious error has occurred' and Premier pro attempts to save the project.
This happens on every version of the project and every autosave version. I then tried to import one of those projects into a new project and got the same error. I then created a new project and tried to use the files that the previous project was editing and every time I import a file I get the same error.
The files all play on QT and are in Prores format. They all imported and worked in premier pro previously.
Any ideas?

Are you using any external drive as a media drive. If yes, then try the internal drive and move the assets to the internal drive and check. If this doesn't help then try uninstalling and reinstalling the program again and update it to the latest updates.

I'm getting an error when I start Premiere Pro CS6. When I try to open a project or start a new project I get an error that says: "Sorry, a serious error occured that caused Premiere to shut down..." I'm working on a 2012 MacBook Pro with 8 gb ram. I don't even get as far as the main screen in Premiere. This started a few days ago after I put in my registration key (I had been using the trial version while I waited for my order to process). I have the same issue with Prelude. Let me know what additional information you may need to help me and thanks in advance.

Neither. Problem occurs when I try to open an existing project or create a new project.

Internal server error in Requistion create - E-rec 600

Hi All,
We are in process of upgrading the 4.6c to ECC 6.0. E-rec 600 installed in the same box (server).
We wish to use the Requistion management services for creating the RR via the BSP's through WAS.
I assigned assigned manager role (SAP_RCF_MANAGER) to user1 and assigned Recruiter role (SAP_RCF_RECRUITER) to user2
When I run the requisition maintaince application REQ_MNT_LST from user1 and assigned the requistion to the recruiter (user2) every thing goes well.
In the step 9 (creating job postings) the system fails to go ahead and throws exception - Internal server error.
We have already activated this bsp service in tcode sicf and roles are assigned properly.
Is there any additional settings we need to do in spro for Job postings or any more settings in sicf ?
Please help !!! Any help in this regards would be highly appreciated. points assured. Thanks for any inputs in adavance

I would fear that the Internal Server Error is an indication of a more serious error. Have you checked if this is generating a Short Dump (Transaction ST22)? You need to determine the actual root cause of the error, as the Internal Server Error is rather generic. You should also consider opening a support ticket on this error as this sounds more like a support issue.

Internal software error.. WHY WHY WHY?!

I just exported an MPEG2-DVD out of After Effects. Simple.
I imported the video, made it a timeline. Simple
File>Build>Disc. Simple
INTERNAL SOFTARE ERROR "VIDEO-1" HAS AN ERROR AT 00:00:00:00
WHY?!
Why cant encore get something as simple as burning a DVD with something it doesnt even have to encode?
I seriously believe that adobe releases their software for the public to beta test even in its final retail form.
Very angry.
I cant even build a folder to burn in an outside program. The session plays fine, no errors found, but for some @#%ing reason it will not burn.
Whats worste? It's not a consistant error. I could burp, or shift my weight and it'll burn the same file, same session, for whatever reason.

I feel your pain. I'm about to post my own issues, as I try to migrate CS2 projects to CS3.
Customers are guinea pigs for sure-- true for many products out there, not just from Adobe. Nobody wants to pay for proper internal testing any more...
Based on the volume of issues the past few weeks, some glaring and obvious problems being reported, especially those migrating earlier projects, all this clearly indicates the CS3 software simply wasn't tested enough internally prior to release, especially regressive testing with various earlier projects to assure clean migrations, etc...
What's the big deal if some manager makes a product release date, or merely pushes something out that was already considered "late"? When a product is buggy to this extent, the release should be delayed. Adobe didn't follow this advice-- hence all the pain for paying customers trying to migrate...

Extract Edit Across a Dissolve causes Serious Error Crash

Hoping that:
1 - There's an update soon - it's been a while since we've had anything significant.
2 - This particular bug gets addressed.
I'm on a new Mac Pro - 64 GB Dual Hexacore 2.93 GHz. Running Raid 0 internal with a Blade SSD in the 16x PCI slot. Other than Chrome, Motion (To get the Pro Codecs) and the Adobe Suite, I've installed nothing else on this rig. Software updates are latest version
Quadro 4000 updated to latest published non-beta CUDA drivers.
I'm doing trim edits on a feature. The timelines I'm working in are about 6 minutes long (Broken up by sequences). Working in ProRes 422.
Issue:
When I try to do an extract edit and either the in or the out point touches an audio dissolve, I get a Serious Error Crash.
My current Work-Around is to remove all the dissolves before I extract - but I have 8 channels of Audio and its an action film, so there's a LOT to remove.
Eager for an update.

Since this is a new rig, I'm assuming this is a PPro CS6 installation you're referring to?

Prem Pro CC 2014 constantly crashing, 'Serious Error....'

I am having a full blown nightmare.
One specific project is crashing constantly. Either I get the 'Unknown Serious Error' message and restore (on about 14/15th Copy of now) or the media seems to drop out and it's not long until I have to force it to quit. It is making it impossible to work with.
I am not attempting anything complicated. I have some titles with simple wipe/dissolve transitions, which it doesn't seem to like. But then, even when I take them off it makes little difference.
I was using an Ext HD, but moved it onto the Internal to see if it made any difference. Nah.
I'm on OS X Yosemite 10.10.2. I've done all the change to Read & Write stuff, but I don't think they were an issue anyway.
I'm on an 2.3ghz quadcore i7 Mac Mini with 16GB of RAM. I've had it crash on me before, but not to this extent.
All plugins are updated.
I've tried making a new project and importing the old project into that one - that seems to have helped for now, but I haven't put text onto it. And it's just done the thing where the media drops and I've had to close and re-open.
I am at the end of my wits. I have work to do. I might be doing something stupid, but I am not an IT specialist - I am a filmmaker. I cannot believe the problems I am having.

Tell the truth, it seems to have stabilised...for now. I've managed to get a good couple of hours out of it without it crashing.
I wish I could tell you how I got to that point. I did as much of this as I possibly could:
I would definitely advise to not update Premiere Pro if you are in the middle of a project.
Wait until the project is complete and update with only a new project
Return to the version that the project was created in
In hindsight, if you are freezing or crashing try the following:
Sign out from Creative Cloud, restart Premiere Pro, then sign in
Update any GPU drivers
Trash preferences
Ensure Adobe folder preferences are set to read/write in all 3 locations (Mac Only).
Delete media cache
Remove plug-ins
If you have AMD GPUs, make sure CUDA is not installed
Repair permissions
In Sequence Settings > Video Previews, change the codec to one that matches your footage
Disconnect any third party hardware
If you have a CUDA GPU, ensure that the Mercury Playback Engine is set to CUDA, not OpenCL
Set the Mercury Playback Engine to "Software Only"
Remove legacy QuickTime drivers
Disable App Nap (Mac Only)
Reboot
So I've no idea what it is that's done the trick.
I also had to bite the bullet and go back to the original file (14 or 15 copies earlier) and do a large amount of the work again.
I hate complaining but it's been really stressful.

Cannot open projects or sequences "serious error"

I am editing on a MacBook Pro Retina OS 10.8.2 2.3GHz 16GB RAM running PPro version 6.0.2 and am encountering this problem when trying to launch projects. The projects and media reside on an external Thunderbolt drive (I realize this isn't ideal but it has been working fine for months for numerous projects without a hiccup).
"Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down."
I have tried multiple projects on both the external and internal drive, same problem, and even tried creating a new project on the desktop and importing a sequence from previous projects, which I can do, but when I try to launch the sequence, same crash.

Internal disk error

how do i correct an internal disk error.
disc utility does not seem to see the disc in my time capsule

That is correct.. disk utility cannot see a network drive.
And a disk error is serious .. but it can be false.
How old is the TC? A1xxx from the base can help.
What is the error?
Older TC the disk could be dead.. or lost format.
If the TC is under warranty or applecare, return it for warranty replacement.
If you are out of warranty.. you can open the TC remove the disk and either replace it with a new hard disk or sometimes repair it.. particularly the later Green WD from Gen4.. they just up and lose format occasionally. It can be recovered with a tool like disk warrior or data rescue 3. The disk can also just be reformatted.
First step give the info requested.. and leave the TC off for several hours and see if the error was false alarm. A restart from cold and the problem can go away.. occasionally.

500 Internal Server error for a single report in a dashboard

Hi All,
I had an issue with a report in a dashboard i.e.., In a dashboard a report is prepared by using the opaque view. When I ran the report in a dashboard it ran for about 15 to 20 mins and the report is excuted with the data. Now I tried to downlaod the data for that particular report into the excel sheet by using the option Download to Excel. At this stage after 5 mins I am facing the Internal serevr error. But strange behaviour is that it downloads sometimes and sometimes it does'nt. One more important thing is that I tested the query in backend and it took around 6 to 7 mins to fetch the data. The total no of rows for the query is only 166. So can anyone please give me some suggestions or we can have a discussion as this report is behaving strangely. One more thing I forgot to mention is that they used session variables as parameters in the query for two fields which they used in the opaque view to build that report.

This seems to be a common problem, however, I have not found a fix. I am somewhat technologically savvy, but limited! Listed below are my specs and details to the problem.

The problem-
When attempting to start PP it allows me to start a new project, select setting, and sequences. However, as the program begins to start up the new project the error pops up. The only option is to click ok, which in turn locks up the program.
Also any files that I have previous created also will not open properly.
Also, I have recently lost a drive that contained many of my old PP projects. I've read that some people have this problem when losing a drive that once related to possible PP preferences and scratch disks...once again I am limited on understanding how that all works.
I have restarted, cold boots, warm boots....clean uninstall, clean reinstall of PP and all components, updated chipset, display adaptor is up-to-date (NVIDIA GeForce 9300 GE) ...also I am an administrator of the workstation
**Through my many failed attempts from reading forums I have also at sometimes received a RunTime Error R6025 (pure virtual function call)
I have no 3rd party effects

Has it worked OK in the past? If so, try System Restore.
While your computer might meet Adobe's minimum requirements, it is way underpowered to run Premiere Pro properly.

Hi. I'm having another serious problem with CS4 (the version that comes with CS5 when you don't have 64 bit capability. I just finished a project, had saved it, and then had switched over to Adobe Encoder to create a finished flash video (which worked perfectly). I shut down CS4, went home, tried to restart the main project to create a video from the same project (wanted to make an mpeg version as well) and got the following error message:

Not only can I not open the project I was working on, I cannot open any of my prior projects without receiving the same error.
Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this issue and how to resolve it?

By the way, is everyone else having the same amount of problems with this software? I've never had any software that has had so many problems from the beginning. My opinion of this software and Adobe in general has gone down substantially.

While running this query in SQL SERVER 2008 R2, it successfully gives result in some times in 1 minute and sometimes in 2 minutes.

Thanks for the reply. I am using it as an inline popup. I am trying to create command links dynamically in an iterator. When a link is clicked a popup window opens. The text of the link is passed to the popup window by creating a variable in the session scope ( I even tried request scope) by an action listener in the backing bean.
I tried to create another simple application with a static command button which passes its text to popup window through a session scope variable. It worked fine. I am not sure why the same procedure is not working in my original application. Can you give me a hint what could possibly go wrong according the exception stack trace ?
