M451dn wakes us up every night. How do I stop this?

It seems like our m451dn wakes up every night (very late... Around 4am) to run some kind of short, but extremely loud calibration cycle. It seems like its only a few seconds long, but it's loud enough to wake us up from a few rooms away and it's a little scary because it sounds like someone is breaking into the house!
How do I get the printer to stop this? Or at least do it at a reasonable time?
I believe that I'm running the latest firmware.

I'm asking for help for a friend. She has a G5, with Mac OS X - Version 10.4.1.
Even though she shuts the computer down each night, it comes back on by itself each morning, playing music. She'd like to turn this off, particularly as she is often away from her house for a couple of weeks at a time.

Sounds like she has Scheduled it to wake at that time.
Have her got to: System Preferences > Energy Saver and click on the Schedule... button, then uncheck the box next to "Start up or wake"

Try uninstalling it completely using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html (this tool will also remove Acrobat, if you have it installed).

This issue can be caused by the presence of leftover files in the Firefox program folder (defaults\pref) like a file firefox.js that overrides the update URL with a wrong link.
Do a clean reinstall and be sure to remove the Firefox program folder.

* Uninstall your current Firefox version.
* Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

I keep on receiving the same text message multiple times and at around the same time each night. Any idea how I can stop this happening? The text messages are originating from to separate Saudi Arabian mobile numbers. Both these people are listed in my contacts so do you think if I delete their names it might stop the texts coming htrough each night?

Deleting the people from your contacts will not stop the messages. Have you tried talking to the people and finding out if they're sending you messages? You could try contacting your carrier and finding out what blocking services they offer. However, theat would block all messages from those people.

A possibility is to open the links via the right-click context menu or a middle-click in a new tab to make sure that Firefox sees them as regular links.

First:
 (Apple menu) > System Preferences > Users & Groups > select your account > Login Items.
Determine if that program appears in that list. If it does, select it and then remove it from Login Items with the "–" (minus) button.
Next:
Select the entire line that follows (triple-click to select it), then control-click, and from the contextual menu that appears, select Services > Open:
/Library/StartupItems/
If the program or an alias to it appears in that folder, drag it to the Trash.
Next:
When you log out or shut down your Mac, de-select the checkbox that begins with the words "Reopen windows... "

This feature only works with people who have iMessage on their iPhone. If you are sending a text to someone with a blackberry etc, you will not get the delivery messages.

On the device that you don't want the apps to be downloaded on, go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Automatic Downloads. Once you turn that off, your problem will be fixed.

Remember that you can just put your Macbook to sleep by closing the lid. Unless you're not going to use it for a few days this makes more sense than shutting it down. I sleep my MBP overnight and it uses about 3% of battery power. I only shut it down if I install updates.

Sounds like your phone has the jitters.
This is sometimes caused when a DLL fle is missing when you restore, so the ipsw pacakge wasn't installed corectly.
You could back up and restore, but if it doesn't help go to http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ and then download the same firmware your on.
Open up iTunes and hold Shift+Restore and select that firmware, you can't use anoy ther firmwares though.
