M50-192: screen catch doesn't hold down the screen

hi hope somebody can help i own a m50 192 and have had it since 28/02/2006 the laptop has never left the house yet and i have a problem with the screen catch.
It is not holding the screen down in the transit position to myself as engineer it looks like a spring has come off stopping the catch from holding the screen i belive this to be a design fault due to the short time i have had the laptop.
I have no extra insurance but have warranty. I contacted them and they said, it was my fault.

Well, I dont think that its a design fault.
However, if you have warranty the Toshiba service partner should solve this problem.
I think the loosely screw which secure this mechanism is responsible for this problem.
If you have a experience in the notebooks you can remove the frame holder from the display and check the screws. If you do it, do it careful!

I keep getting a black screen that says to restart my Mac G4 1.4 Ghz. I'm using OSX 10.4.2 The black screen tells me to hold down the restart button. Anyway pressing the start button doesn't do anything. No response using the button on the front of the Mac either. This just started today. I end up having to unplug the Mac. If I start it with the option key held down and choose my OSX disk, the one I normally use it real let me log in as usual. I've repaired disk permissions. Came back to it again a few hours later started the system up it did the same thing.
Does anybody know what's going on? What this behaviour means?

If you can't get it to shut down or restart when holding down the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons and you can't get it recognized in iTunes to restore it, the iPod may have suffered a hardware failure and will need to go to Apple for service. Someone else here may have additional suggestions, though.
There is no "fifth generation" iPod touch, by the way, just for the sake of clarity; not yet, anyway.

I'm not sure, if you're out of warrenty it'll cost quite a bit for the replacement of the logic board replacement...unless you have apple care. you could ask apple to try and recover your hard drive but i'm not sure.

Two experiments you can try.
1. Boot in safe mode and see if you can shut down normally. All thise additions won't be running in safe mode so this test would indicate it is one of them causing the problem.
2. Uninstall all the intego VirusBarrier stuff. That's my first guess and the troublemaker.

Put your phone in DFU mode. Connect it to itunes and hold down the power and home buttons at the same time for ten seconds. Then while keeping the home button pressed let go of the power button. Keep holding until a message pops up saying your phone is in recovery mode. Then sync it back up. This will erase everything from ipod and restore it back from itunes.

That sounds like a kernel panic. These are generally hardware related, often caused by poorly seated or fauly RAM.

Ok, sounds like the safe mode boot worked... You probably don't want to always be in safe mode though (some reduced functionality) so does it do a normal boot now? If not, you should then reboot into safe mode and run Disk Utility. Then select Macintosh HD on the left hand side, and click the Verify Disk button. If needed, it will ask you to Repair Disk. If there are errors found, Repair Disk again until there are none. Then try another normal boot and reply with result, wether good or bad.

Here's how to perform the restore:

If you can actually get to restore, maybe (I estimate a 0.01% chance) you'll be able to do a backup before the restore. Actually, from the symptoms you describe, I suspect a restore won't work either and you'll need to do a recovery.
Just in case, if you need to recover (restore fails), here's how. Note you may have to try to get into recovery mode more than once.
