M500 audio lags

Hello, I have crucial m500 and I did clean install of windows 8. After this I installed my old hdd, formatted it and stored all media on it. The problem is that when I listen to music, which is stored in that hdd or watch videos from it, I have a clear audio lag and not so clear video delays every one in 20-60min intervals. Before I used this ssd, my windows were installed on this hdd and everything was just fine. I know its not a virus, because I did a clean install. I think it is related to ssd, but I don't know how to solve this. Another problem I have is that when I update to windows 8.1 my computer cant shut down, restart. Everything turns off, but the laptop still works( I mean the fan), so I have to use the hard button to shut it down. Also the option for sleep disappears, so there is only shut down and restart options(hibernate dosn't work too). If anyone knows how to fix any of these issues, please help and thanks in advance.  My laptop specs: Acer v3-771gIntel core i5-3210m8GB ramx64 windows 8nVidia gt630mcrucial m500 250gb500gb WD scorpio blue

I've not seen this problem before. But almost all weird and wonderful Windows misbehaving issues on this drive appear to be caused by using out-dated sata drivers - usually supplied by your computers manufacturer.  So I'd update them first and see if that helps: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&keyword=%22Intel+Rapid+Storage+Technology+(Intel+RST)%22

  • When I transfer movies to my USB the audio lags.

When I transfer movies to my USB to watch on my TV, the audio lags. It's perfectly fine when I watch the file on my computer.

USB, in all it's flavors, is simply too slow to play a video from. Your hard drive is much faster and therefore you have no problems.
So, when you can, copy the video to your hard drive and leave your USB thumb drive at home.

  • Audio lags in iOS

Hi, I've been making an animation with click-triggered sounds (to get around autoplay), but once I view it in iOS, the audio lags by a couple of seconds. It seems to be loading, because when I click it a second time, the audio is timed fine. But I have a preloader and I checked the "preload audio" box as well - so why isn't the audio loaded before the whole animation is displayed?
(if this helps - I'm using MP3s as well as OGG)
It works perfectly fine on a desktop browser.
Another issue is that Chrome in iOS isn't playing sounds at all - not sure why.
    Thanks.

    Hi there,
Sorry, but iOS (or more accurately, MobileSafari) doesn't support audio preloading (nor do browsers on most Android devices). This is a design choice on Apple's and other mobile device manufacturers part. See here for more info:
    https://developer.apple.com/library/safari/documentation/AudioVideo/Conceptual/Using_HTML5 _Audio_Video/Device-SpecificConsiderations/Device-SpecificConsiderations.html#//apple_ref/ doc/uid/TP40009523-CH5-SW1
(refer specifically to the section User Control of Downloads Over Cellular Networks)
Not sure what may be happening with Chrome for you - it seems to work okay for me.

  • SO F-G ANNOYED!!!! Playback is all screwed up. Audio lags as well as stuttering.

Ever since the upgrade, none of my videos will playback correctly.  The audio lags behind by 8 - 10 seconds and there's this constant clicking noise in the background.  Apple FIX THIS!!!!!!!!!!!

How do you turn off session store? browser.sessionstore.enabled is not an option in my config. I dont care to have it on. I would rather my videos played correctly than worry about restoring a browsing session from some random incident. I would rather FF create a stable platform where you dont have to jerry rig it in order to even use it.

  • Audio lagging around Slide #20

    Hi everyone,
I'm recording mini-lessons in Cap 5 with relatively small (30-60) slides in each project. I've noticed that around the 20th or so slide, the audio lags behind by about half a second. The band-aid solution I came up with is to extend a slide without extending the audio. It's quite noticeable but it corrects the problem. I'm deferring to your collective wisdom, Captivate Gurus: is there a better, less obvious solution? And I'm not counting adding a pop-up for the user about halfway into the lesson that directs them to click the PAUSE button on the playback bar.
I've got the preloader set to 100% and the auto-play option is off as well. The projects consist of introductory and explanitory slides that have captions, JPEG images, and audio, and screen capture slides in demo mode with audio. No Flash and at the most one or two slides with FMR, lasting about a second or two at the most.
    Thanks!
    Krista

    Hi Krista
I'm not sure if this still holds true in Captivate 5 as it's a totally new animal than 4 was. But in 4 I saw reports of folks correcting this by staging the audio to begin playing slightly into the slide. For example, have the audio begin playing perhaps .3 seconds (three tenths of a second) after the slide begins.
I'm not guaranteeing this will work. Only offering it as something you might try and see.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Premiere Pro CS3 DVD Compression Audio lag

I have a project which content several camera angles.
I synch them, then puts them in my timeline with other elements such as Lowerthirds, logos, and other sub captions.
Funny enough there is a lag when the whole project is compressed for DVD burning.
Video 1 has the live feed audio file and Video 2 is simply synched with video 1.
Ounce the compression is done, Video 2 is synched with audio but not Video 1. Video1 is late.
I do not understand why since, Video 1 has the original audio file for the entire project.
However when the project is compessed for windows media player the issue disappears.
Can anyone help me with this?
    Dan
    PS: CS3

Usually Premiere pro should send the compressed media directly to encore and burn it. But nop it doesn't work that way It bugg all the time doing that.
So I Export it via the Adobe Media Encoder then choose MPEG2-DVD
    Range: Entire Sequence
    Preset: NTSC Medium Quality
NTSC, 720x480, 29.97 drop frame (fps), lower, Quality 3.0
    48 kHz, 16 bit, PCM
VBR, 1 Pass, min 1.50, Target 4.00, Max 7.00 (mbps)
The project is 28min 40 long and gives me a compressed file of about 2 GB.
Right there before I even burn to DVD with Encore (by importing the 2GB file as timeline),
    There is an audio lag.
Then I shut Premiere pro, launch Encore, import the 2GB file as timeline hit the built key, disregard the error message and THe DVD id burned.
I don't think Encore is the problem, I think It comes from Premiere Pro. How can the Video contact the only audio file not be in synch with itself???
    I am so confused...
    THanks for your help!
    Dan
PS: Do you know any good tutorial about compression tips so I can get better result

  • ITunes audio lag

I recently bought a new computer (less than a month and a half ago), running Windows 8, and installed the latest version of iTunes and Quicktime (iTunes 11.1 and Quicktime 7.7).  My computer is hooked up to a small HD TV monitor using an HDMI cable.  I bought an HD movie throught the iTunes store yesterday, and played it through iTunes.  However, the audio and video will quickly become out of sync, usually within about 15 seconds.  I have updated my NVIDIA disply driver and also my audio driver (IDT audio driver), to no avail.  I have also made sure that my computer audio playback is set at 16 bit/44.100 hz, and that iTunes audio playback is also set at 16 bit/44.100 hz.  No of this has helped.  I will play the video, and within 10-15 seconds the audio is lagging horribly behind the video.
I have also tried to play the movie in Quicktime by clicking on the movie in iTunes, showing the movie in windows explorer, and then clicking open with Quicktime.  However, when Quicktime opens, it just sits on a grey screen.  I click play, and the timer for the movie starts, but the screen just stays grey the whole time.  My Quicktime audio playback is also set at 16 bit/44.100 hz, for what its worth.
I have literally spent an entire day trying to look up a solution for this problem, and have found absolutely nothing that has helped.  If ANYONE has an idea of what I can do to alleviate this problem, please let me know.  I am at a total loss to figure this out.  I am somewhat familiar with computers, enough to run through some basic fixes, but I am by no means a computer whiz.  I have also contacted Apple about this problem, and got back the typical response of "update my drivers etc etc etc."  It seems like nothing on the Apple website has instructions for possible remedies to this for Windows 8, so as I said I am at a total loss.  ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!!

demand a refund, I had this same problem 6 months ago...gave them another shot recently and apple still hasn't fixed the problem

  • Audio lag in video while on Terminal Server

    Hi Everyone,
We are having an issue with audio being out of sync when viewing flash video on a terminal server.  The terminal server is running Windows 2008r2.  The audio seems to lag behind the video by about 1 sec. We are planning to rollout training videos
and about half our users are on Terminal servers.

  • MP4 Plays Fine in Quicktime, but Audio Lags Near Clip's End in WMP. Huh?

This is weird. I've made several MP4s in Premiere Pro CS6, some only 10 minutes long, and the audio goes a bit out of sync (lagging behind) only in WMP, not Quicktime, when playing the rendered MP4. QT plays it all just fine. Is there something needing to be set in Premiere or AME to make it all stay sync'ed and play fine in any player?
Quick backstory: I shoot 1920x1080p DSLR video at 24fps (23.97#) and I capture audio separately on a Tascam portable at 24-bit 96kHz (which is think is 29.97) and toss it onto a Pr Pro CS6 timeline. I do use the cruddy camera audio just for syncing then ALT+Click to separate the camera's audio track and delete it, leaving the now-synced good audio in place. Then I toss a few transitions and effects (mostly color grading) on the video, nothing fancy, and export out an .MP4 from Premiere which of course fires up AME. I think the problem is the preset I'm picking. A screenshot of my AME settings is attached. I am using one of the presets for Apple TV/iPad/iPhone which is basically renders the video down to 1280x720p with H.264 compression (no surprise that Quicktime plays it back without issue). I'm assuming a codec comes into play here, or just WMP being stupid? I know what a codec is but I don't Premiere which one to use (I assume you can), so if that's the answer please elaborate a bit when you answer, lol. I'm a seasoned photographer and a fairly green video editor (and a lousy video shooter, lol!).
As a further test, I sent the timeline out to an MP4 again but this time I simply chose H.264 and picked the HD 23.976 1080p preset which does use different VBR, etc. That video plays fine in both, but a 10-minute MP4 is almost 2GB! I was hoping for something in the 100mb-150mb range so I could YouSendIt out to people, and the lousy AppleTV/iPhone 4 720p H.264 preset does give me a filesize in that range.
Any thoughts on what to set to get a workable filesize of <200mb with a 720p clip that actually works in WMP as well as QT? I hope I'm even asking the question correctly.
    Thanks!

Harm, I didn't pay attention to those settings, I should have. I got hung up in the preset names and figured those were my only choices. How green I am, lol. I made a preset with a Target of 4 (max 6) and VBR 1 Pass, and I knocked the audio down to 128K being it's just speech, and it all worked great. The new file plays in both players perfectly and also plays on my iPad with no jitter. Filesize is about 240mb but that's fine, it works. Problem solved and in the books. BTW, I use a GTX570.
Jim, I agree, VLC is super, it was the only player that would play 5D Mark II files right out of camera back in 2008, on my dual core Dell laptop with a cheesy Nvidia 7900 graphics card. Problem is, the majority of people I'm sending these MP4s to are Mums & Dads in our church, etc, and you know quite well that those folks are running some consumer Dell or HP setup they bought at Costco on closeout.
Funny backstory, when the 5D2 came out in Sept 2008, that was what thrust me into video. So I immediately bought the Prod Premium CS4 Suite (already owned Photoshop for a few years being a stills guy) and installed it on that Dell 17" laptop I mentioned above. After getting the 5D2 finally in Jan 2009, I actually had the nerve to take my first attempt at creating a video in Premiere and encoding it on that laptop. I literally had to kill AME partway through because I was seconds away from burning out my processor (I had been using RealTemp because of how hot that thing ran using Word, lol). It was that event that made me convince myself to start researching how to build a real editing PC (using an i7 920 at the time). I probably drove Harm nuts back then with all my questions, lol! But this rig has been my workhorse and has been through countless upgrades, the only thing remaining from the original 2009 build is the case and the power supply.
I know, you guys didn't need all that info, just felt like shooting the breeze. Thanks again!

  • Streaming Audio Lagging (Unusual Bug)

I have a swf, which loads external movies, each external
movie has its own layer in the time line which contains an audio
file, the audio is not being used with actionscript, it is just
sitting there and plays with the "stream" option enabled in the
    properties bar.
What I have found is that, when going from one scene to the
next scene within the loaded swf, the audio will overlap, that is,
the audio doesn't finish when it is supposed to, or the audio for
the next scene will play before the current scene is finished.
Has anyone encountered this problem before, or, have they
found a way or know a way to fix this? Perhaps something could be
done to 'sync' the audio with the timeline at the end of every
scene, maybe some function could be called that gets the audio and
does something to it to make it re-sync?
I am really out of ideas. I have tried getting the next scene
to have a delay of 9-15 frames, and that seems to have worked, but
what happens is if I am running the swf, then open an app up or do
something that uses a lot of cpu power, the flash file that is
running will start to lag from that point onwards. Now, if the
program or process that I was running in the background is now
closed or goes away , the lag in flash remains! Even for new scenes
that I use or even new loaded swf files, the lag stays! I close the
swf, reopen it and the lag is still there, I close flash, and
reopen flash, then test hte movie out again, and the lag is still
    there.
If you don't run another intensive process in the background,
or open another application, the audio doesn't lag and everthing
    works fine.
If anyone has any idea's about this, please share.
BTW, I use an Athlon XP2600+ and the CPU usage is low when
    running this swf file...

Ah I understand. Well here's what I managed to HUNT down
This issue was posted on this very forum on April 15th which can be found HERE.
If you look at reply #3 you can see that member has the same computer I had (HP desktop with beats audio).
I remember trying what he suggested and it actually worked...for a small while.
When the issue came back, I continually tried to enable/disable the Beats audio in hopes of fixing the issue.
Sometimes it would work immediately. Other times it wouldn't work at all.
The member in post #3 is probably right in that this may be related to the audio driver on some computers.
Now, I just got a Dell XPS8700 and I haven't gotten the issue yet.
Of course I've only been using it for a day or so but so far so good.
The HP desktop I was using is going to my friend.
He will be using it to work on our show so essentially he'll have to deal with the headache lol.
What bothers me the most is that I get these Flash CC updates pretty often and each time I think it's fixed, it's not.
To add insult to injury when you get a Flash CC update through Adobe CC you'll see a link below the update that you would THINK would show you the changes that were made but it doesn't...it just goes to the default Flash CC webpage...sigh.
I personally think it's down right hilarious that so many paying customers could have an issue like this and Adobe just sits back and counts their money.
Guess our cries for help are being drowned out by the money counting machines...

  • Audio lag when exporting 90min HDV footage as QT movie via FCP6

Hy Guys I desperately need your help!
Ive exported a 90min QT movie from an 1080i50 HDV project in FCP6 & found that the audio progressively "lags" as the clip plays.
At the start of the clip the sound is in sync with the video but by the end it lags nearly 15 seconds behind the video!
The footage had captured perfectly & everything works fine in the timeline & is rendered properly.
I've checked everything I can think of (settings on timeline are the same as the export settings - audio rate is 48KH, 25fps in both etc (I'm based in the UK)but getting no joy at all.
Initially I exported the footage using the "export quicktime movie" option, set to "use current settings", as a "self contained movie", & un-checked "re-compress all frames" option.
(The intention ultimately being to import the file into Compressor 3 to produce M2v/Ac3 files & then import them into DVD studio pro to produce a PAL anamorphic 16:9 SD-DVD.)
Since that didnt work however, Ive tried all sorts of different settings for both timeline & QT export - the only thing I havent tried is exporting it totally uncompressed (should I use 8bit or 10 bit??).
I'm a bit wary of that as It will take 12-14hrs to do so & use up an awfal lot of space.
The footage itself is of an action horror feature - so LOTS of quick cuts, whip pans & transitions.
I'm using a brand-new rented Mac G5 so I have no idea what drivers of service packs have been added - but i think its pretty well serviced (its VERY stable).
I'd be really grateful If you can get back to me with a solution on this as - no joke - my Job relies on this getting solved PDQ !!!!
    Many thanks
    Mike

Exporting a self contained Quicktime movie does not cause any compression to the actual images.
When using QT movie export FCP copies each frame of your finished movie and create new ones out of any transition between original media.
Editing HDV can require extra time indeed as it needs to be conformed after you finish. I would try to send the movie straight from the timeline once rendered. If you want to check out the result why not copy a portion of the edit on a second identical sequence and send it to Compressor.
Testing is always a crucial part of the process.
