  • Authorization Problem On New Computer

I recently upgraded my MBP. I had the previous generation MBP that I had about 5,000 Itunes songs on. I backed up all my songs on my external hardrive and imported them into my new macbook.
The problem is I can't play any of my songs. When I try it says that they need to be authorized for the new computer. I have updated my Itunes account and switched emails but they won't let me authorize it with my new email address. When I attempt to login with the old email address that automtically pops up when I try to play a song, it says that my password is incorrect. I attempted to reset my password but when they send the password reset email to my old address it never shows up in my inbox. I'm assuming this is because I updated my account to my new email address. Then when I try to reset the password by answering the security questions it firsts asks for my birthday. When I put that in it says that it doesn't match the records!
I know this sounds confusing. I tried my best to explain what is going on. Does anybody have a clue how I can listen to my 5,000 songs on Itunes?

There are possibly many issues with iTunes and email accounts, as well as the change of the computer to try and resolve over this support alias. This is a great case for setting an appointment at the Apple store to see a Genius.
Take your system with you, and make sure your clear about what iTunes and mail accounts there was and is now, all with the correct passwords.
Look online for the store nearest you and then book an appointment and arrive 15 mins early and check in. If you have all the right accounts with passwords, it should a fairly quick process, and the best part. No charge !
    Good luck

  • Install problem with new computer

I just got a new computer (Mac Pro) today. My Final Cut Studio 2 refuses to install. It says my serial number is wrong (it's not). But my Final Cut Studio 2 software was an upgrade version. Do I have to install my old original FCP 4 first and then use the Final Cut Studio 2 disc to upgrade it? Will FCP 4 even install on Leopard? Please pardon my ignorance! And thank you in advance.

If it's an upgrade version of FCS 2 then it is looking for a previously installed version of FCP on the system. You may need to install an older version first.

  • Syncing problems on new computer

I just got a new computer (not a Mac) and even with home sharing, I can import CDs into the library, but I can't sync them when my iPod is connected. I have to go back to my old PC for that. Any ideas?

    Welcome to the discussions,
just to make sure, your new computer is authorized and using the same itunes account?
Try to transfer your purchases by right clicking on the phone in the device list and choosing "transfer purchases" Disable autosync in itunes before you connect the phone.

  • Problem with new computer booting for xp install.

I just built a new K8N Neo today with a 3000+. The computer POSTs fine and I can start the install of xp. Setup will copy the files over and then reboot. When the computer reboots, I get the error "cannot load operating system". Ive tried all kinds of things, new cables, change jumpers around, 1 hard drive, 2 hard drives but I always still get the same message. I dont know what else I can do. Theyre just regular ATA100 drives and I have them on IDE1 while the DVDRW is one IDE2.
I tried resetting the CMOS also. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Ecerything is still a bo go. I dont understand this at all. The bios detects the hard drives because I can read their specs within the bios. Tried to fix the MBR and that didnt work. Im really at a loss here. This is my first MSI board and im not too happy with it so far.

  • I am having problems with my music collection, after burning all of my music to the computer I organized it into folders and placed it in the iTunes Folder. Starting on a new computer now. I can get my music from old computer?

I am having problems with my music collection, after burning all of my music to the computer I organized it into folders and placed it in the iTunes Folder. As of now i realize this was a mistake. Starting on a new computer now. I cant get my music to transfer from the itunes folder on the old computer? I keep getting error "Can't Read from the source file or disk." Whenever I got to folder properties its always checked read only. But when i play the song it works just fine. Im sure this is just because I added music into itunes folder but is there anyway to fix it?

WMA files are 'window media audio' files, which is a Microsoft format. If you want to add them to your iTunes library on your Mac then you will need to convert them into a compatible format first. If you still have your windows machine then iTunes for Windows can convert them from WMA to MP3 format : https://discussions.apple.com/message/24158701#24158701
Or try a search for, for example, 'convert wma to mp3' to find programs to convert them.

  • I got a new computer, told it library was on external hd, no problem.  A lot of artwork was missing though (NOT manual artwork, only previous artwork I'd asked itunes to find). I ran 'get artwork' but it's only asigned artwork to the1st song in each album

So, I got a new computer.  As my itunes library has gone through a few in its time, it lives permanently on my external hard drive, as this generally makes moving to new computers hassle free.  I told my freshly intsalled itunes on my new computer where to find the library and it got all my songs, movies etc no problem.  However, some albums were missing artwork (NOT any of the albums I had ever manually added artwork to, thank god, these all seemed to be intact, jut ones where itunes had previously got artwork for me).  I asked itunes to get missing artwork, as is par for the course.  This it did, but it has only installed artwork for one song per album (generally the first song, or the lowest numbered track for incomplete albums, as far as I can tell).
It does not acknowledge these songs as missing artwork when I create a smart playlist but, erm, they are - the artwork doesn't show up on the display in the bottom LH corner or in the info tab.  WHY?  When I've added new albums 'get artwork' has always added artwork for EACH song on the album in every previous itunes I've ever had.  I don't get it at all.
I appreciate it might be irreperably messed up, but please don't reply with any manual adding solutions.  I have over 25,000 songs in my library and to go through and manually ask itunes to add artwork to each song (apart from the first on the album which already has it) would take SO LONG it makes me want to die inside.
I can't find anything else on this.  Other people have had issues with itunes match and devices, but these songs don't even have artwork on itunes, let alone on my ipod, iphone etc.

Well my first guess was wrong. The line that failed is the one that writes out the image to disk. I've not revisited the code for that script for ages, but it seems I did add in an extra test for missing files a little while later, then forgot to upload the change. I can reproduce the error message if I deliberately rename a file to confuse iTunes so that seems the most likely reason for your problem with the script. I've uploaded a new build of CreateFolderArt which should work better.
See FindTracks for a tool to repair broken links. You should probably get that issue fixed first.
I know what SPSS stands for but that is all I know about it.

  • I have copied my iTunes library onto a new computer, but when I play back the songs there seems to be random "miss" or "drop out".  No probs with old computer, just the new one.  I'm onto my third new computer - same problem.  Any suggestions please?

I have copied my iTunes library onto a new computer, but when I play back the songs using the new computer, there seems to be random "miss" or "drop out" during play back, similar to a small scratch on a vinyl record.  Although when I play the same song over again, the "miss" occurs in a different location during the song.  No probs with old computer, just the new one.  I'm onto my third new computer - same problem.  Any suggestions please?

You don't say which version of iTunes you are using, but the symptoms you describe have been encountered by some users with the 64-bit version of iTunes 12.1.
There is an alternative version for 64-bit editions of Windows here:
iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)
that seems to address the most of the playback issues that some users have been reporting with the full 64-bit version of 12.1.0.77 - including problems with Bluetooth speakers where either sound is degraded or completely absent.  The alternative installer here is the same architecture as most previous "64-bit" versions of iTunes, i.e., a 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer.  The "for older video cards" label appears to be something of a misnomer as some people have reported that this corrects problems found on current / high-spec systems.
Some users have reported that after installing this alternative version it is necessary to adjust the "Play audio using" selection (normally to "Direct Sound" rather than "Windows Audio Session", though this may vary based on your audio hardware/drivers) in Edit > Preferences > Playback to restore glitch-free audio (one part of the reported symptoms is that the "Direct Sound" choice isn't available, usually in Windows 8).  It may also be necessary to ensure that your Bluetooth speakers are active and selected as the default audio device before you run iTunes.
If this doesn't address the issue, you may want to think about reverting to iTunes 12.0 - see Turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for steps needed to completely remove all installed iTunes components, and for links to the 12.0 installers.

  • Problem with serial number while reinstalling CS6 Design Standard on new  computer

I have a new Computer (Windows 8) and am now trying to install my Adobe Design Standard CS 6.
I bought that suite and installed it sucessfully on my old computer  in Jan 13 as an Upgrade to Adobe Design Standard CS 5.5 (which was also an Upgrade Version from another Adobe Product).
When beginning the installation on my new computer today , I was asked for my serial number. The serial number for my Adobe Design Standard CS6 was accepted, however, that is only an Upgrade Version.
As the Product I'm upgrading from I chose the option Adobe Design Standard CS5.5 and gave my serial number for that product.
Then I got the message: 'Diese Seriennummer gilt nicht für ein kompatibles Produkt. Geben Sie eine andere Seriennummer ein', which means translated: This serial number is not valid  for a compatible Produkt. Give another serial number.
I don't know why my Adobe Design Standard CS6 should not be compatible to my Adobe Design Standard CS 5.5 and I don't have another serial number.
Could you help me with this problem?

Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

  • Sync applications problem with 3GS and new computer

Hopefully someone can help me out. I am trying to sync my fiancee's 3GS to our new Dell laptop that has Windows 7. I had no problem syncing and updating my 3GS with the same computer last night, I updated to the 4.0 last night on my phone. I then tried to update her phone. It asked me to backup and sync all data prior to updating. I was able to back up and sync contacts and photos without a problem. I tried to transfer the applications; and now I keep receiving this message: "Some of the purchased items on iPhone could not be transferred to your iTunes library because you are not authorized for them on this computer." I certainly authorized the computer; thinking that might be the problem, I deauthorized and reauthorized the computer successfully (It says that I have one out of 5 possible computers authorized). That did not solve the issue. I researched into the topic; and now my brain hurts. One of the threads requested to disable the automatic sync when the iPhone is connected to the computer. I reset the settings, powered down the iPhone and exited out of iTunes; rebooted and still no success. I am getting frustrated but do not want to erase all of her applications and buy them again. This message is applying to both free and purchased applications. When I look at the applications page on iTunes; all of her program icons are apparent. I am not an iPhone genius, but I read that the new computer has never recognized the phone and the sync will go from computer to phone (if I understood correctly). Does that mean I need to reinstall iTunes and start from scratch with this computer; or is there a solution? Both of our phones were rarely synced with our old laptop; but I worry that syncing with that computer will only further complicate the situation. Without transferring the applications, I am hesitant to update the phone to 4.0 and the new carrier settings. Do I just let the computer try to transfer the applications it allows and then lose my apps and do the update? I don't want to do that unless that is my only choice. Please help me!

Not sure if this helps, but:-
I just got an IPhone4 - Gave My IPhone3 to husband.
We ended up hsving to set up two login users on the PC (not sure how to do that) and then two seperate ITunes accounts, one for each of us.

  • ITunes, music files from external dr F to new computer dr C... problems?

I currently have a setup with an older computer and external hard drive, but will be getting a new computer in the near future. That is to say, I have not yet encountered a problem, but am anticipating one.
As it is, iTunes is installed on the old computer, and the library of songs and videos is all on the external hard drive.
I will be wanting to install iTunes on the new computer, and put the entire library on that computer as well.
I understand that moving a library between computers can be fairly simple, just as long as you keep the path the same. I expect that moving everything from C:\Program Files\iTunes on one computer to C:\Program Files\iTunes to a new computer would be quite easy. However, since the library currently points to files on drive F, the external harddrive, I am wondering if there will be a problem when I dump my library onto the new computer's drive C? If so, how can I get around this?
    I'll try saying it another way;
currently, my directories are like so:
    iTunes Folder - C:\Program Files\iTunes
    Library - F:\iPod
and what I want, when I get a new computer:
    iTunes Folder - C:\Program Files\iTunes
    Library - C:\Program Files\iTunes\library

First of all, about the moving the 'program files\itunes' directly: don't do it. Install iTunes properly.
    Then do this:
Copy the contents of 'iTunes Music' within My Music to the same location on the new computer.
Then connect the external drive and start up iTunes. It should appear identical to the way it did on the old computer.
Then use these directions to move them to My Music or anywhere else you want:
