I have a brand new M83 with Windows 7x64 running on it.  I have run the latest System Update 5 and I am still missing drivers for one device.  I have also run Windows update and have nothing left to install. Need some help trying to figure out what driver is missing please.

Under the M83's Lenovo Drivers, try downloading the SCCM Package if available.  It has a bunch of drivers in it.  Had the same problem.  Right-clicked the unknown device, selected Update Driver Software, browsed to the extracted SCCM download (include subfolders), and let it search for the driver.  I believe it was an ACPI driver that was missing - which usually the Lenovo Update and Drivers utility finds on other models.

  • Equium A60-157: error caused by device driver

    Hi all,
I'm trying to write my PhD thesis at the moment and am being hampered by my laptop! It keeps randomly bringing up the blue screen of death and then restarting; when it's all loaded up, I get a 'serious error' message that says 'error caused by device driver'. As far as I know, all the programs I have are compatible... I was advised to restore factory settings, which I did a few months ago. And I've had the BIOS update suitable for my computer. But it's still happening!!
If it helps, the programs I use daily are Microsoft Word, Access and Powerpoint, Internet Explorer and MSN Messenger. I don't run any high spec games (only Minesweeper occasionally!)
What can I do? Does anyone else have this problem? Any advice would be much appreciated, as these crashes are not helping my work!
    Thanks...

    Hi guys,
I seem to have a similar problem. About a month ago I reinstalled windows using the product recovery cd and three days later I started getting a blue screen. But the error occurs only when shutting down (not always, I can`t see any pattern)- right before the shut down itself, windows has already logged off and settings are saved. The error code is 0x50 and the report says it is caused by an unknown device driver.
The day that stop error started I installed an educational software (Leankey's) for which I used a virtual cd. But at the initial launch the program "freezed" and I had to close it and open it again, there wasn`t a problem. After that I tried to copy some files on a blank cd (without using any burning software) and it said that the device was not accessible.
I tried disabling DMA but that didn`t help. In the event viewer I saw error messages that say the cdrom has a bad block. I`m not sure whether this has something to do with the stop error but they started at the same time. I can still burn cds with other software (nero). I tried to update the device driver but it didn`t help.
Maybe I have to uninstall the driver first but from the device manager when I check the properties of the device (driver details) it uninstalls the device and the driver remains. Should I delete the driver files manually? I have checked all device drivers and they are all compatible. All installed software is digitally signed. (I immediately removed the Learnkey`s software but I think it has changed some dll...
    I will appreciate any suggestions.
P.S. When I run the toshiba diagnostic tool it skips testing the cd/dvd but it doesn`t say why.

  • ThinkCentre M83 tiny unknown lenovo driver device LEN4002

I did a fresh install of Windows 7 on a desktop Lenovo ThinkCentre M83 (tiny, small form factor) and I have one unknown device that I have not been able to find drivers for in Device Manager. It's ACPI\LEN4002. Googling that returns integrated displays for Thinkpad monitors so that doesn't seem to be the right thing here. I've already installed the chipset driver, the Intel haswell/vga driver, AMT, MEI, Lenovo Application Interface driver (LBAI, ACPI\LEN4001) It's not the Intel WIDI driver either. Even though it's listed under the driver matrix for this model, the isntaller said it's not compatible with this system.
Anyone have an idea what device this?
    Thanks!
    Solved!

Found it after downloading the SCCM driver pack for the model. LEN4002 is identified as the "Lenovo APS's Sensor application interface".
Well, of course it is! :-)

  • Windows needs to install driver software for your unknown device

Windows needs to install driver software for your unknown device
This is the message that i get when ever i plug in my ipod touch to my computer. the computer is running on vista. i dont know what to do, because i tried to follow the steps suggested, but it didnt work, the computer said that it couldnt find anything and to check with apple for some driver software. HELP!!!

The iPod touch and iPhone do not use the same type of USB drivers that other Apple devices use. They both require Apple Mobile Device Services to be running. Using this tech article as a guide, you can easily fix this: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567

ALL OF THIS PERFECTLY WORKING WITH WIN 7 ON Lenovo Y510
Install all of your drivers but ATK tool and ACPI
    1. Install ACPI driver x64 http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_show_627.html
    2. Install Energy management tool (you may install only "utility" or with managment tool, it depends on you) from Y530 x64 version http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_show_640.html
    2. Install ATK http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_show_641.html

All o files extracting in C:\Drivers\....  If you had some troubles with installation you may try to run setup from there.
    Reboot when asked for it.
(Win 7) If some is not running try in any compatibility mode (in Vista SP1)
4.Go to folder where Energy utility installed (in my case C:\Program Files(x86)\Lenovo\Energy Management)
5.Run file DPInst.exe in Vista SP1 compatibility mode OR
5.1. Go to the device manager select unknown device (device ID ACPI\VPC2004) and install/update driver manually. Select driver in C:\Program Files(x86)\Lenovo\Energy Management (that's my folder, and I thin yours too). The file with driver is VPC.INF  !!!!
I have got fully working OSD

  • IBook won't load Firewire drive; "unknown device"

That's the summation via System Profiler. It's a SmartDisk Firelite enclosure but I swapped the old 40 GB drive that failed for a new Seagate Momentus 80 GB drive. My G4 dualie recognizes the new SmartDisk setup fine. It loads immediately and I was able to access via all the utilities. Transfers work well.
But on the 1.33 iBook the green light appears on the SmartDisk enclosure, but no threat of loading. Only System Profiler identifies something, "unknown device" with 400 capability. When I remove the firewire cable, System Profiler doesn't see anything.
I had no trouble with the SmartDisk prior to the old drive failing. It worked perfectly on the iBook. My firewire port appears to be okay, since I tried Target Disk Mode with the two computers and it worked well.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I Googled and found many issues of "unknown device" related to firewire drives, but none that seemed to precisely fit this case, a drive that was recognized on one computer but not another. Both are running 10.4.11.

I'm still baffled but tonight I found an acceptable alternative, a Macally 250 Firewire/USB enclosure that I had in my closet but never used previously. The Seagate drive loads on both the dualie and iBook using that enclosure, which is bulkier than the SmartDisk but right now I don't really care.

    Hi:
You may need to reinstall the graphics driver, but I think it is the same one you have now.  It is from 2012 and so all they did was say it was good for W8.1 too.
