Hello John-Kam,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I have read your post on how you are not able to wake your computer up from sleep mode, and I would be happy to guide you towards a resolution! To begin, I will need to ask you a few questions:
Does your computer wake up from sleep mode after 5-10 minutes?
Is this a recent or an on-going issue?
Have you completed all of your Windows updates on your computer?
Have you updated your HP drivers using the HP Support Assistant?
In the meantime, I recommend following this document on Resolving Problems with Sleep and Hibernate Modes (Windows 7). This should help configure your computer to respond and wake up from sleep mode.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, as well as the requested information above. I look forward to your reply!

I have tried many things to try to install it and I have been unsucessful. Please help I have windows 8 64bit.

This did not resolve my issue, it actually made things worse. I did what
you had told me to do below, and it did not work. Tried to access the
internet to respond back to you and my computer was not able to reach the
internet. Tried reaching adobe support and not was able to, even tried
calling was on the phone for 20 minutes and no one answered. I was not able
to re install windows. Contacted Asus from another computer and they were
not able to help me reinstall windows They had asked me to ship my computer
back to them, due to them not being able to resolve the issue and help me
reinstall windows. I luckily had a backup on my external hard drive and was
able to reinstall windows 8. Spent over an hour and half trying to fix
that. Here I am still not able to install adobe reader. I was very unhappy
with what I was told to do and it gave me this issue.
    ·  Open an Administrator command prompt: Right-click Start > All Programs >
Accessories > Command Prompt and select Run As Administrator. Click Allow
    for the elevation prompt
    ·  In the command prompt, type the command below:
    fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\
The line above assumes that C: is the drive in which Vista is installed. If
it is installed on another drive like D:, change the drive letter
    appropriately.
    ·  Restart the system.
    ·  Install Acrobat or Adobe Reader again.

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.1.2 Print Issues - Windows Crash Error (2 Sided)

Have recently had issueswith our upgrades from 10.1.1 to 10.1.2 in regards to the following:
When printing 2 sided on a Fuji Xerox Firefly C4400 Atheros, application crashes after printing first 4 pages.
Thus, have tried the patch fix that was recommended on cpsid_92870 however this has not fixed the problem.
Have also tried the solution with the duplexing but still same issue, Windows crashes.
Have also tried solution to remove Windows patch KB4332667 and still same issue.
Screen shots will be provided upon request with the errors.
    Currently running:
    Windows XP SP3
    Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.1.2
Printer Drivers are the latest and over 500 users on network. 485 are working on 10.1.1 which do not have this issue.
Is there any solution or 10.1.3 patch release that will address this issue?
Last Adobe user to work on this was Atul.

Sonal2890, thanks for your inquiry and I will try to provide as much information as possible.
    1. What happens if inspite of using 'Print on both sides', you check Duplex setting from Properties dialog (As you do previously)?
The Adobe Reader X Shuts down and is unable to print and displays a message stating it has incurred a problem. Please note, we are running IE7.
    2. What happens if you print with any other application (Word/notepad)
The documents print fine. IT is only when you print this particular document which is enabled in protected mode and double sided. Have tried the patch and the resolution of unticking the duplex methodology and the issue still persists.
Crash Logs have already been submitted already. Have added the SEnd Error Report that was provided when the error occurs. The PDF stopped printing after page 6 of a 236 page document and provided the error above.

  • N91 driver issue ~ Windows vista !

    Hey there !
    N91 driver issue ~ Windows vista !
i recently upgraded my OS fro XP pro to vista ultimate,
carrying all the program files and settings,
but then the nokia pc suite in vista didn't recognize or load drivers for N91, when connected as
    (1.) pc sync
    (2.) USB hdd.
so in -all pc suite wasn't running.
so i uninstalled and re-installed pc suite,
now it does connect and loads drivers when connected as
    (1.) pc sync
but doesn't loads drivers (keeps on searching~ from CD and windows update) as a USB HDD,
so I can't drag and drop my files in it.
    any solution to this !

The combination is complicated - VISTA / PCSuite 6.83...
Both are not reference of good behavior.
On Vista, miss a lot of drivers, even for N91, and PCSuite 6.83 is unstable and unreliable. So maybe, you don´t have a problem, and need to leave with that until both, or at least one of then have an upgrade.

  • I have a basic applet method timing problem with Firefox (and Chrome), not IE nor Opera. Works if JavaScript issues windows.alert() prior, fails otherwise.

I have an applet method, which is invoked from a JavaScript function, that is triggered by the window.onload event. The problem seems to center in the loading of the applet and its methods.
If I step through the 3 applet acceptance prompts (I chose to use a down-level Java), the applet method is never invoked, nor is an exception raised. How this happens is beyond my understanding.
As additional information, the Init(), start(), and "desired" Java methods all use the synchronized keyword. This is an attempt to minimize the exposure to a multi-thread environment.
If I issue a message from JavaScript (via window.alert()) PRIOR to invoking the method, I can get the desired results in special circumstances:
    1) When the alert is presented, Firefox also prompts, SIMULTANEOUSLY, to block/continue the applet (the first of the 3 applet acceptance prompts). I can accept that these are separate threads.
2a) If I walk through the 3 applet acceptance prompts FIRST, and then hit the OK button on the alert message SECOND, I get the desired results, my applet method executes, and all is well (other than the fact that I would prefer not to have the alert in place at all).
2b) If I hit the OK button on the alert message FIRST, and then walk through the 3 applet acceptance prompts SECOND, I get the same results as when the page loads WITHOUT the alert, which is the applet method is never invoked, nor is an exception raised. Weird, huh?
The above problem only occurs when the browser and the applet's URL are loaded for the first time.
Subsequent invocations (after the page & applet has been loaded initially) do not have the failing symptoms.
It is my understanding that IE and Firefox (and Chrome and Opera, for that matter) each use the same implementation of JavaScript provided by Microsoft. Please correct me if this information is inaccurate.
The failing page and it's applet are proprietary; I cannot provide the Internet URL, nor the Java or JavaScript source, to aid in your analysis.

I can speak to the source code, but have no access to it.
The current process/thread that invokes an applet method must check to see that the applet is not currently being loaded by another process/thread. If it is being loaded, the current process/thread should block until the load is complete, THEN attempt to invoke the applet method.
Please forward my concern to a knowledgable developer. The nature of the problem, once identified, can be addressed in a very straightforward manner.

  • New Macbook Pro retina boot camp install issue - Windows 7

Trying to complete a boot camp install but can't get past creating a partition.  I am able to download the windows drivers through boot camp, it burns them to a DVD, verifies the DVD (couldn't use CD-R as it kept saying burn failure after verifying files) and then takes me to the make a partition page.  When i click install the partition, it pops up saying "can't find the installer disc" and wants me to put one in the super drive.  What gives?  I have that disc in the drive, also tried the Windows 7 disc and got the same error.  So basically I can't create a partition to install windows 7 that I have.
    Any thoughts?

The disk was from my other PC system, however it is an OEM upgrade disc.  Maybe that is the problem but if that is the case why did it work when I installed it through VMware and it worked fine?  The disc can be used as a self full install of windows 7.  I have also it on another PC with no issues.  Trying to convert to Mac finally but this is causing a hiccup.
The next question then is do I really need to go the boot camp way?  I only need it to run quickbooks (need windows version for reasons) and a couple of other programs but thought it may run better as a boot camp install rather than VM plus I couldn't figure out how to reduce the size of the partition that VM installs, it takes too much space from me for no reason (60Gb).
    Thanks for any input.

  • HP PhotoSmart 2575 All-In-One Driver/Software Install Issue - Windows 8.1

    Hi
I've just bought a new Sony Viao with Windows 8.1 (64 bit) installed.
I'm trying to install my HP PhotoSmart 2575 All-In-One so downloaded the driver and software installer from here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-110159-1&cc=uk&dlc=en&lc=en...
The file downloaded fine on to my desktop, i double click it and then the Exctracting... thing moves along to 100% then goes off the screen.  Then nothing happens. I was expecting some software for the printing and scanning to be installed or some further install files to be added to my desktop.
    What do i do next?
    Matt

    Hi  Matt,
Thank you for updating me. I can definitely understand the frustration you must be feeling, especially when things seemed to be going great then it changed.
I have 2 documents to follow next.  First, please try the steps in the document titled "Software Installation Stops Without Warning and With No Error Message".   When you get to "Step three: Install the Software", it references HP SmartInstall.  Please don't worry about using that program as it's specific to some of HP's LaserJet printers.  Please use the HP's Printer Install Wizard instead of HP's SmartInstall.
If that document doesn't resolve the issue then please proceed onto the 2nd document titled "The Progress Bar on the Software Installation Stops or Stalls".
Please let me know how it goes.  I want to ensure we have your printer installed and working.

  • Windows 8.1 having same issue: Windows could not parse or process unattend answer file (C:\Windows\Panther\unattend.xml) for pass [specialize]. A component or setting specified in the answer file does not exist.

I know there are similar other issues with IE 10 and Windows 7.  This is WINDOWS 8.1, and the IE Welcome message is totally absent from the default unattend.xml in the c:\windows\panther directory.  In fact, I did a sysprep without using any injected
unattend.xml - this is the Microsoft Default!
So I suspect this will start appearing all over again soon.  Anyone figure out what was causing it?
Here is the new Specialize section from the xml:

I'm thinking of dumping the entire IE section and see what happens.

I too received this error as I tried to run my first Windows 8.1 deployment. Per another post I commented out this line
    <IEWelcomeMsg>false</IEWelcomeMsg>
from the IE section of the unattend.xml. I was then able to run my deployment. I do not see this line in your posting though.
I referenced this link even though it was for Windows 7.

    Hope this helps someone.

To clarify, I edited the unattend.xml file from from Deployment Share, not C:\Windows\Panther.

  • Random hard freezing issues, Windows 8 64-bit on Macbook Pro (Late 2008)

    Hi,
I recently upgraded to OS X 10.8.3 and got a hold on copy of Windows 8 64-bit. As I'm running on my old trustworthy 15 inch Macbook Pro (Late 2008), my hardware is officially unsupported. Over the years I've had XP, Vista, Win7 32-bit and 64-bit running running on the same machine, and thought I'd give Win8 a chance.
To be able to install Win8 on my unsupported hardware, I tricked the Bootcamp assistant that I was going to install Win7, and after the reboot and start of the Win7 installation, I exited the installer, rebooted, switched DVD to Win8 and did the installation from there. So far so good. For installing the Bootcamp drivers, I followed the instructions in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4894920?tstart=90.
Now, the machine runs just fine with Windows 8, and I've installed some basic third party applications (Firefox, Spotify, Steam). However, I get completely random hard freezes on the machine (sound looping, no other activity whatsoever) during normal use. These can occur 20 minutes after start, or 3-4 hours in. The freezing behavior is very much similar to how my model can behave under overheating conditions (which mostly have occured in past Windows versions while gaming), however overheating doesn't seem to be the issue here (based on simple palpation ).
Have anyone experienced a similar problem, or know something about it? My current idea is that some weird things are going on with the Bootcamp drivers, so unless anyone comes up with a suggestion I might try doing a rollback to the point before I installed the drivers to see what I can make of it.
    Thanks!

Had a few similar short system freezes, after installing Windows 8 x64 on 13” MacBook Pro Mid-2010 with BootCamp 5.0.5033.
There is a suggestion that DisableDynamicTick may fix the problem: https://discussions.apple.com/message/21565295#21565295. There were similar topics at Microsoft forums: 1, 2, 3. It was said “that this will likely reduce system battery life, so it should be undone when you update your Windows build or if it doesn't resolve your issue”, and that “this problem is resolved in the release versions of Windows 8”.
Another possibility is that there is indeed a buggy driver, within BootCamp 5.0.5033, or a 3rd party, like a wireless network driver in the following case http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-performance/system-fr eeze-randomly-after-installing-windows-8/49488183-26cf-4389-af21-a85dc366c99a?pa ge=2#LastReply.
The problem has been noticeable on my MacBook, but not annoying enough yet to spend time troubleshooting. If you find a robust solution, using the links above or other method, it would be interesting to know.

  • USB 3 Instability Issues - Windows 8.1 - Windows 8, The USB 3 Stack Is Unstable On Multiple PCs And Many Devices

The USB 3 stack is unstable in Windows 8.1 and Windows 8. I was hoping the upgrade to Windows 8.1 would improve the stability but no.
On two different motherboard systems I have had the same experience with 64 bit Windows 8 Pro and Windows 8.1 Pro compatibility with various USB 3.0 devices and hubs including:
An AFT PRO-57U front panel card-reader/hub, various Anker, Syba multiport hubs, and these are just a few I have tried, there are many more.
    Symptoms are the same.
For example: the AFT PRO-57U slots are enumerated correctly as drive letters in Windows 8.1.
Then the drives (the PRO-57U slots) disappear, then reappear, then disappear, and reappear and so on. This happens consistently and the cycle time to disappear/reappear varies from 10 seconds to 10 minutes.
The Windows Device Manager shows the devices appearing and disappearing as enumerated devices. I have tried many trial and error methods to solve this, uninstalling and reinstalling USB motherboard drivers, different cables to the AFT PRO-57U device different
USB 3 ports for the devices and many more...
One of the hubs I bought specifically because it has the latest chip and firmware: Anker® USB 3.0 9-Port Hub + 5V 2.1A Smart Charging Port with 12V 5A Power Adapter [VIA VL812-B2 Chipset and updated Firmware 9081] This hub FAILs to enumerate some external
    HDDs and other devices.
To troubleshoot I have tried many things:
I have disabled Windows Power Options, USB Selective Suspend.
I have disabled power options for each and every USB device in Windows Device Manager
I have uninstalled the Asus AI Suite 3 software and the issues remain.
I have tried BIOS settings for Legacy USB devices on and off and the issues remain.
I have tried BIOS setting for xHCI Mode - Auto, Smart Auto, On, Disabled
I have updated to the latest Intel chipset drivers 9.4.0.1026
I have all the latest BIOS, drivers, firmware, devices, - anything that is involved with the USB 3 stack.
    Etc. etc. etc...
I have contacted Asus, Gigabyte Intel, AFT, Anker Syba, etc. and they are all finger pointing.
I have tried so many trial and error methods to solve the problem and I have run out of ideas.
It is clearly an unstable USB 3 stack and I am not sure who is responsible although I suspect Intel chipset drivers.
USB 2 is fine BTW. All devices work correctly when plugged into USB 2 ports.
From what I can tell, the entire USB 3 environment is a problematic P.O.S.
If anyone has any ideas I am willing to try anything I have not already tried.
    Thanks,
    Michael Downs
P.S.  Here is my system information. I have all the latest BIOS, updates, drivers and etc. for all devices.
ASUS Maximus VI Formula w/ BIOS 1002
    Intel Core i7-4770K  BX80646I74770K
    G.Skill Trident X 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 2400 Model F3-2400C10D-16GTX
    Samsung 840 Pro 256GB  SSD Seagate Constellation CS ST3000NC002 3TB 7200 RPM 64MB
    EVGA GeForce GTX 760 ACX 2GB 256-bit GDDR5
Corsair Carbide Series 330R Mid-tower Case
    Corsair RM850 850W 80 Plus GOLD Certified

    Pioneer 15X BD-R SATA Blu-ray Burner BDR-2208
    AFT PRO-57U All-in-one USB 3.0 5.25" Media Card Reader
Then there is a similar system with the exact same USB 3 issues:
    Gigabyte - GA-Z77X-UP4TH
    Intel i7 3770K
    etc.

Hey, I hope this helps you out a bit... I have had the same issue on my Asus K55A notebook with Win8.1 Pro x64 from the beginning! Thru my extensive research I found something interesting and the possible cause to all this! What I found was that by design
the xHCI Host Controller has virtual HS 2.0 Ports linked to the 3.0 Ports... Enabling compatibility with 2.0 devices ok... What happens is that the xHCI stack is unstable just like you say... The ONLY WAY I was able to fix the problem was by unlocking the
UEFI/BIOS to allow me full access to USB Configurations... I had to disable 2 of the HS ports under the xHCI Controller since I have only 2x 3.0 ports... This allowed 3.0 devices to be enumerated correctly under the xHCI stack and 2.0 devices now were enumerated
under the EHCI 2.0 stack... That's what worked in my case... I'm still digging around for more info about this issue because I find it so odd that no one discovered this when designing xHCI stacks and drivers at MS for Win8/8.1 x64... I hope I shed some light
on this issue... Good luck and keep us posted!
Hi, Sebastian. I have the same problem but i'm getting crazy trying to solve it. Can you help me to unlock the UEFI to access full USB config? and give me some suggestions on how to solve the problem?

  • QHD+ Resolution Scaling Issues Windows 8

I've read that QHD+ resolution monitors like the Dell Precision m3800 with a 3200x1800 resolution screen are having scaling issues with Windows 8, and even 8.1. Some programs scale correctly, but I have specifically heard Adobe programs including Adobe After Effects do NOT scale correctly.
Are there plans to fix this with the next Windows release? Or a patch before then?
Any rough estimate as to when that would be?
Does it work at the moment to scale the monitor down to a lower resolution to fix it? Is it in fact tested and not just assumed. (I have no way of checking and can't get a straight answer)
I want to buy this laptop soon, but I need it for After Effects and if it's not usable, it won't be a good buy. Would love to have some concret answers!
    Thanks!
    Kim

The CC versions of Adobe programs support high-DPI displays, but not older ones. If you use an older version, this won't change. Nobody goes back to old code.

  • OS Downgrading issues Windows 8 to 7

I down graded my Toshiba Satellite l855d-s5117, because there was some software that I use that wasn't compatible with 8.
I had a couple of issues when I switch over to 7 though.
    1. I can't find the driver for the Universal Serial Bus Controller. From what I can tell, it's the AMD USB 3.0 driver in the support section, but that file isn't listed under the drivers for my model. And if I try one of the general ones it is giving me an error that says, "This computer does not meet the minimal requirements for installing the softwre."
If someone could point me in the right direction here I would appreciate it.
    2. My computer is running hot under Windows 7. This is the second time I'm running 7 and both times the computer runs hot and shuts down in protection mode (with an average number of processes happening). This does not happen with windows 8 and original OS. I don't know if I'm missing some software or a driver that would remedy that or not. The computer is pretty clean and the fan appears to be working, so I'm not sure why it's being taxed so much in 7 as opposed to 8.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

  • File Association Issue (Windows)

    Hi,
Whenever I try to open SQL Developer on a windows machine I get the file association dialog. I click the options I want then ok, and it hangs.
This is with a user with limited rights on the pc. I have tried it also with a user with 'Power Users' privileges and it works as in I am able to use SqlDeveloper but it still shows the file association dialog each time I open the application. However as the administrator this does not happen.
I've had a look through all the config files but can't see anything really evident. Is there something I am missing, a privilege that is needed by windows users?
    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
    Mike

    Are you running on Vista?
If so, I believe this issue was covered here: Vista Problems
There are a couple of things you can do.
    1) Run SqlDeveloper one time as Administrator
    or
    2) Edit sqldeveloper.conf and add: AddVMOption -Dno.shell.integration=true

  • Desktop Manager sync issues: windows closes the program

I have Windows Vista and my BB Desktop manager is v4.5.  In the past 2 weeks I have been unable to sync my BB 8330 as windows closes the program after it compares the calendar in outlook and tells me I have an app crash.  I have read all the threads and instructions to remedy this problem, and have tried each solution, but to no avail.  I'm at a loss as to what to do now.
    Solved!

    Hi,
I have reread the entire post and I've got to tell you I missed the most important part.
Windows closes the program and Windows tells you there is a APPCRASH which is why there
is no reference to it in the knowledgebase.
Here is the correct forum: Microsoft Windows Vista Support
We will be glad to work with you on the Blackberry program side, this is a Vista error.
There are also many references to it on Google.
Let us know how it goes!
