If Safari is getting very slow:
(Presumably you regularly empty your Safari cache by deleting the following file:
Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/cache.db
and clear your History)

If you are using a single computer: Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:

You would get the redemption code, or perhaps even the serial number, from whomever you purchased the software from, apparently Amazon, so talk to them. This wouldn’t be the first time they’ve sold something that didn’t have all the numbers needed to license it.

A redemption code is 24-digits of letters and numbers that you enter into a website to get a serial number, once and only once. The serial number of only 24-digits, no letters, is what you enter into the software during the install or when you run it and it asks if you want to register or run in a trial mode—whatever the exact phrasing is.
In any case it sounds like you don’t have either a redemption code or serial number—although perhaps something is listed on the purchase confirmation or your account online at Amazon or even in an e-mail from Amazon. -
I have a non intel G5 and would like to download i-tune songs that I have recently purchased. I have tried everything and can't find the downloads. Did this G5 just become obsolete with itunes? If not what is the problem?
You can do it with Leopard but it depends upon the iTunes version which you did not reveal. Also make sure you are looking in the right place for purchases.
Consider buying a backup drive so you do not need to do this again. If you are going to run old hardware and software you need to live differently because yes, at some time you will find your version of iTunes no longer works. You're lucky it still works with Leopard. As you can see, some versions still work with the iTunes Store but not for repeat downloading.

Sprint is a CDMA carrier, same as Verizon so it will work on CDMA.

I changed my Apple ID that using an invalid email address and I am trying to update iCloud account with my new Apple ID on iPhone 5 with iOS 7.1.2. I am not able to delete iCloud account without the old password. Is there a way to update the Apple ID of my iCloud account?
Many people are having probalems with this right now. The only solution I've seen that seems to consistently work is the one posted by Brackers28 here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23020591#23020591. This only works if you still have access to your old email account. If you don't, you'll have to have Apple help you reset the password for your old account so you can turn off Find My iPhone and sign into your account with your correct ID.

I am adding the google DNS settings 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to my Airport Extreme. I also have an Airport Express which I use to expand my Extreme. Do I also need to add the DNS settings to my Airport Express?

GregNo need to enter the DNS info on the AirPort Express as it is configured in Bridge Mode and will automatically pick up the DNS info from the main router.

Spammers harvest email address from a variety of sources. Just because your family members name is on the email does not mean that your family members email was hacked. But it's a good idea you let them know you did receive that email. In the meantime do not respond to the email and delete it from your device.

How to forward an imessage that only contains an email address
I can't forward an imessage that only contains an email address. When i push and hold the speech bubble it will only select the email address itself rather than the whole message.
You can create up to 3 alias addresses but you have to do this on icloud.com from your computer browser. This article explains how: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2622. Also, incoming email to an alias address will go to your current iCloud inbox so it really isn't a separate account; just a different email address for the same account.
Each iCloud account only has a single iCloud email account. If you really want to set up another, you would need to add a secondary iCloud account by going to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud, then entering a different Apple ID to create the account. You can then turn on Mail to create the new account. Mail in secondary accounts, however, is fetch email, not push (which is only supported in the primary account). -
IPod Touch Not Receiving DNS Address
For the past week or so, my iPod Touch has not been receiving a DNS address from the wireless router in my workplace. The router is a Netgear RangeMax WPN824, currently using WPA-PSK encryption. The iPod indicates that it successfully connects to the router, but it does not have any internet connectivity in Safari, Mail, or any other internet-required apps, and when I check on the wireless connection, it does not have a DNS address assigned.
I have no trouble connecting to the wireless network using my laptop, and the IP configuration on my laptop indicates that the laptop gets a DNS address of 10.0.0.1. I've tried manually entering that address, as well as an OpenDNS address, into the wireless settings on the iPod, with no success.
My iPod Touch is running the 2.0.2 firmware, but one of my friends who uses the 1.1.x firmware is also unable to get any connectivity. Any suggestions, anyone?Same here! All the other computers (MacBook, Gateway Vista desktop, husband's Toshiba XP laptop and my old Mac notebooks) on my wi-fi network are connecting just fine (using a Time Capsule as my router), but my iPod Touch either can't see my network or if it does, rejects my password (even though I enter it exactly the same way as on my other machines that do connect successfully). I went to Settings and there is no DHCP address or DNS server info; and numerous resets of the Touch's network settings were no help. I have all these fun killer apps but can't get online except with a computer. (Last resort is to see if I can get on to a wi-fi hotspot). DHCPv6 gives wrong DNS address
DHCPv6 in the Time Capsule gives me wrong DNS address (same as GW). I can not figure out how to solve this problem. I am using the latest version 7.6.1.
First relevant screen (IPv6 page):
I configured everything statically. There is no problem in routing. I can ping everywhere. But there is problem in DNS.
Second relevant screen (TCP/IP page):
IPv4 is configured statically too. Time Capsule is giving IPv4 DNS 192.168.0.2 by DHCP correctly, but the IPv6 DNS is ignored.
Thirth relevant screen (Windows box):
This machine works as a Domain Controller and DNS so I need the DNS requests to end here. At IPv4 no problem. At IPv6 Time Capsule`s DHCPv6 is giving incorrect DNS address. It shoud give the one from line "IPv6 DNS Server(s)". Instead of it it gives the one from line "LAN IPv6 Address".
Because of this I have to shut the whole IPv6 down otherwise clients report that they can not resolve.

I don't think this is a DNS problem, since the host name is completely different. Usually a DNS problem would be getting the wrong IP address for a host.
If you do not have any accounts on the old server set up for send/receive, then there's no reason for Thunderbird to be connecting.
I have a guess, based on experience with Microsoft email clients. If you open an old message that you have not read before (or move it out of your Inbox without reading it), and it is set to send a Read Receipt, this can trigger attempts to send the receipt out using the connection on which it was received.
If you have Thunderbird set to never send a read receipt, or to prompt you, then this probably isn't the issue. You could check your receipt setting here:

It sounds as though you are experiencing an issue with an Apple ID and authorizations. Based on your post, it sounds like you are familiar with the authorizing and deauthorizing process. The Apple ID in question (your wife's email) may be originating from the iPhone you are attempting to update. Is it possible that your wife created an Apple ID or iCloud account which is signed in on that iPhone? Is there some way to add multiple addresses to an email I am sending that doesn't close the contact list after I click on an address? This necessitates constantly going back to click the + sign to add each address separately. Is there some way I can open the contact list, click on all of the individual addresses to which I want to send the email without the list closing between each address entry, and have all of my address entries be listed to the email at one time? Something like it works in Gmail. I do not want to use set lists, I want to enter different addresses each time I send an email. And I am a very slow typist, so I don't want to type the first few letters of each recipient's name. It is much faster for me to just click on the e-mail addresses in the list as a group. It doesn't make any sense to me to have to reopen the contact list for each address, when it should be so easy to click on all of the addresses I want at one time and then click once to add them all to the email as a group. If there is a solution to this, please tell me. Thanks.

Try this:
1. Select Mail>File>New Message.
2. Select Mail>Window>Address Panel.
3. Use (command+click) on the desired addressees in the Address Panel to create the list.
4. Click "To:" on the top left of the Address Panel.
The group that you selected will be added to the "To" field in your New Message. -
When I tap on the to line to add an address sometimes people's names come up that I don't have as contacts. How can I change this setting?
The only way that I know currently know of to remove old or incorrect email addresses from the Mail app is to reset the iPad back to factory defaults, which I assume that you don't want to to. Frank, thanks for your note. I wrote "COMPLETED" because I had gone to a lot of effort to get the content of the book precisely as I wanted it. I would fully expect to see my level of effort and care matched by functional competence in Aperture 3 to render the book the way I created it. Too much to ask?
And yes, I upgraded the Aperture 2 Library first. [Not ALL my tens of 000s of pix, because I use Lightroom selectively for photo editing. But Yes to the Aperture 2 Library.] That step took a number of minutes, but seemed to work fine (no error messages of any kind).
Then I opened the existing book project in Aperture 3, which followed some "magic-box" process that took a minute or so. As I said, when that step was done, by all appearances the book was ready to submit for printing - until I examined the photos a little more closely. You did see the blurry example I included, didn't you? That is what each and every photo looks like.
Text-box content appears to have been rendered pertectly, for the record (including captions).
So, ... is this result something you have heard of before? Do you know of a one-step solution? Or am I looking at an extended picture-by-picture fix?
