Mabook pro not working HELP!

I have a MBP Mid 2009 8gb ram 2.24 ghz unibody model.
Recently I wanted to just give a power bost to my existing machine rather than buying out a new one. So, I decided to get a crucial SSD and a new battery (as the old one had already passed the maximum cycle limits). I tried to install the same using some guidance available over the internet & youtube. I didnt knoe this would go completly wrong. The battery went just fine, I rebooted & recharged the new battery all was find. The next morning, I was confident & wanted to just get the SSD done with, the installation in terms of the hardware went just fine (PS - I did use a non static surface, did remove the battery before doing anything).
After I got done with the same. Tried to start it again, but the macbook just doesnt turn on. Its like it takes power, I can hear the HDD is spiining - No screen comes up) and it just machine just shuts itself in the matter of few seconds. I did try to see if the battery connector was lose or something, but nothing has worked even resetting PRMS etc etc.
I dont know what can be the issue after possibly taking so much of care in installing both the parts?
If any one can help would be great.

You didn't format the SSD or install a system on it, did you?
You can do a couple of things:
Buy an USB enclosure for your old drive, plug it into your Mac, hold down the option key and select it to boot from. This will take some time as USB is not very fast. Use Disk Utility to format the drive ("Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" with a single GUID partition). You can then clone your old drive to your new SSD using something such as Carbon Copy Cloner.
Use the original system discs that came with your machine and boot from Disc One. Use Disk Utility to format the drive.
If you've a SSD you shouldn't hear anything spinning.
