Mac 0S X version 10.5.8 upgrade to next version?
Hello,
I need some help & adivce on what I should do to for my Macbook. Lately its been going really slow and won't create new tabs unless I quit Safari completly or just restart the computer altogether.
Also, I usually don't buy apps on my iTunes on Mac but use my phone. My itunes won't let me buy anything just only to view the app.
I don't know what to do exactly, should I upgrade and use Snow Leopard or OS Maverick (i think that's what its called) or what?
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Upgrade to Snow Leopard:
The OS 10.6 Snow Leopard install DVD is available for $19.99 from the Apple Store:
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
and in the UK:
http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Check via Software Update whether any further updates are required, particularly to iTunes.

When I open http:/selfcare.ndc.bsnl.co.in to check account usages,a page opens" Welcome to customer care portal. After login this page with ID and password, another page Sap Netweaver Portal opens. It sounds like the website incorrectly sees the latest version of Firefox as version 1 instead of 10. These instructions might help you workaround the problem https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/latest-firefox-issues#w_websites-say-i-need-to-update-firefox-but-im-on-the-latest-version
That said, the website appears to not have been updated in many years and still recommends users to use Internet Explorer 6. You might try contacting them to let them know about the issue but it also may be easier to just use Internet Explorer for this site. -
Should I reinstall my current OS - 10.4.11 or upgrade to next version?
Our family of apple itouch, iphone, etc. users is having difficulty connecting to itunes, and uploading our photos to websites. I'm thinking that itunes and these sites have advanced beyond my current OS. Apple Tech suggested I reload my OS first and then if that did not work to upgrade. What are the steps involved, and has anyone else had similar issue to resolve?
Assuming you're having issues with the iMac noted in your profile, trying another network connection wouldn't an easy troubleshooting step. However, if the iMac is currently connected to your network via a wireless connection, please try using a wired (Ethernet) connection if possible.
Have you tried more than one user account on the computer?
What type of internet connection do you have?
Also, if you could go to this site: http://pingtest.net/ , perform the test & report back with the numbers for *Packet Loss*, Ping and Jitter. That website will give information about the quality of your internet connection.

Petition: Upgrade the next version of the Sleek to Include Bluetooth Technol
It would be really cool to have wireless bluetooth speakers and/or headphones instead of a cable.
Oh yes this would be a nice addition. But the problem is with the battery. As you can go hours and hours on your music and Bluetooth might drain the power quickly on both the player and headset. But hopefully by then there would a 'battery conserving' mode for Bluetooth which wont use up much power.
Also Bluetooth could be used for data transfer... Although this would not be recommended use because of its slowness!
And I'm not aware of a headphone jack problem with the Sleek tho -
've just upgraded to latest version of Firefox 4 and my Mac is only OSX.10.4.11 and now it won't open. How do I downgrade and get old Firefox back. Don't want to lose all my bookmarks. Why was I able to install in the first place. Very frustrated!!
You can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
You can trash Firefox 4.0 then re-install Firefox 3.6, it will use your existing bookmarks, passwords etc
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com -
I just upgraded my mac book to 10.6.8 and downloaded the new version of itunes. When I try to open it and error message appears saying, "The iTunes Library file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the "iTunes" folder in the "Music" folder."
I have tried a few things but iTunes closes right after i click okay. Anyone know anything?Look in your Home > Music folder. There should be an iTunes folder there and it should have a number of files and folders including one called library.itl You want to guide iTunes to that file. If you don't see that file or folder then in your next post you will have to be very specific as to what you do see or how you have your iTunes set up because that's where it should be according to default settings.

Why can't I download OS X Mavericks? The download option is malfunctioning. I already checked that my mac version can have free upgrade. I click download, but it just doesnt do anything. I went to purchase tab, clicked "download" next to the app but still nothing happens. It's not internet problem because everything else on the app store works. The only thing not working is Mavericks downloading and I don't know why. Please help.
To install Mavericks, you need one of these Macs:
iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later),
MacBook Pro (15-inch or 17-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
Xserve (Early 2009)
Your Mac also needs:
OS X Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard v10.6.8 already installed
2 GB or more of memory
8 GB or more of available space
Since Mavericks requires 8GB's or more of free disk space, control click the MacintoshHD icon on your desktop or open the Finder, right or control click startup disk in the Sidebar on the left then click Get Info.
You'll see Available and Capacity. Make sure there's at least 15% available disk space.
If installed, disable anti virus software before downloading Mavericks. -
Hello, can't get my mac to upgrade to latest versions of quicktime, itunes or any other os
The latest OS that you can run is 10.5.8. That is as far as Power Mac machines can go.
The latest Quicktime, iTunes, etc., must be both OS X 10.5.8 AND Power Mac (PPC) compatible.
This is the last OS update for your machine:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL866
iTunes 10.6.3 requires OS X 10.5.8 and is the last update for iTunes on a PPC machine:
https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1575
Quicktime:

Hi we have apple credentials for downloading OS and creating Provisioning profiles. Now we are trying to upgrade the Mac OS 10.7.3 version. do we need should buy this version from appStore. or can it be download from the apple site for free? Many thanks in advance!
Whether you need to buy Mac OS X 10.7.3 depends on what version of OS X you have now.
If you have OS X 10.6.x or lower it is a paid upgrade from the Mac AppStore.
If you have OS X 10.7.x it is a free upgrade you get using Software Update on your Mac. -
I own Windows Photoshop CS and I am now working on a Mac can I upgrade from CS Windows to CS6 Mac? or do I have to purchase the full version?
BleuStarz wrote:
So, just so I have this straight; would CS upgrade to CS5 or did you mean I would have to purchase CS5 to upgrade to CS6? And If so, does CS upgrade any further? i.e. CS 3 or 4? Thanks for your reply --
CS will not upgrade to CS5. Historically, only CS2-CS4 ever qualified for upgrade to CS5. Those versions are all long superseded and no longer available from Adobe.
Adobe currently only sells CS6 (for outright purchase) and the Cloud (by subscription only). Cloud members have access to both CS6 and CC.
The only way to upgrade to CS6 is from CS5. Adobe no longer sells CS5. Unless you purchase the full version of CS5 from elsewhere (I don't see any point in that in this case) you would not be able to upgrade to CS6. You'd have to buy the full version of CS6. Or subscribe to one of the Cloud plans. PS+LR is an excellent deal if you use those products. -
when i update my iPhone 4s through iOS 7 with my mac, i tunes told me that an upgrade was necessary to sync with the new iOS 7 and of course i updated my iTunes to the ultimate version but my mac didn't work with this version of i tunes. What can i do
Hello,
Only option is upgrading your Mac's OSX, since Apple will not allow iOS to go backwards.
Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
General requirements
* Mac computer with an Intel processor
* 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least, more if you can afford it)
* 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
* DVD drive for installation
* Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
* Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...

Is Scan String for Tokens documented correctly?
