I repeatedly keep getting notified: Could Not Sign In. Please check network connection and try again. When trying to log into FaceTime. Also note that click FaceTime on bar that Preferences is not highlighted by light gray. I can log into my apple ID okay and log in to write this comment without any problem. I am trying to talk with my Grandkids in England from Arizona on the iPads that I sent to each of them from my iMac. What am I doing wrong - have been repeatedly trying for past three hours.
Grandpa is needed!Hi RVBob,
Sometimes firewalls cause trouble with Facetime, iMessage and other Apple apps - please try to open these ports from your router firewall (or ask somebody to do it if you don't know how).
Enable port forwarding on the following ports to use FaceTime and iMessage on a restricted network.

My network connection works perfectly and I have disabled all firewall and security programs. I've tried uninstall and reinstall several times and still get error message. Does anyone know how to get around this? THANKS!
Hi..
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall
Make sure the Firewall is turned off. You may need to click the gold lock icon to make changes.

Try this... I had the same problem and this worked for me.
Go to your system preferences → network → make sure WI-FI selected → advanced → DNS tab. Add 8.8.8.8 to the DNS servers. Go back to FaceTime and try to verify your account again.
Good luck! -

Can not sign in to facetime. It says check network connection. Not sure what to do next.
Same problem here. It used to work perfectly. I moved apartments and now it doesn't. However, my internet is working fine, so no idea what the problem is.

I can't sign in to iMessage on my phone. It says "please check network connection" however i can sign into iCloud on my phone & can sign into iMessages from my mac.
Obvvioulsy I've tried a hard reset & I restored my phone to stock yesterday. So, considering there have been 20 odd pages on queries since I posted this I'm guessing I aint gonna get any help here, so does anyone know if it's possible to get help from Apple without having to pay? I cant get to a genius bar. I'm looking for an email address maybe? I've spent hours searching through forums & have scoured Apples support pages & as far as I can tell the only way to get anything from Apple is by paying them - I've had my phone over a year you see.
Thanks in advance for any help.
