MAC Address : K7N2-L : Default? Help!

I accidentally wiped out the default mac address.
anyone know of a way to recover the default one? or if i can obtain a new one from MSI?
reply to my email or this post thanks

I do not understand how you lost the address.......but the mac address for the onboard nic is printed on a white sticker and the sticker is placed on the bottom side of the ACR slot......The only way to see it is to take the board out of the  case, or to use a mirror to see it.

  • Restoring MAC address to the default

If I do a ifconfig [device] hw ether [mac address], how can I later revert the settings back to the default MAC address without knowing it?

My, er, "trick" is to unload and reload the modules for the NIC
Edit: You could also use macchanger to force the NIC to use a specific MAC. So, if you want to go back the original one, then force it to it.

  • MAC address access control default?

I'm still using old graphite ABS, and all of them
are using MAC address access control.
Just by accident I connected a PB G4 with an
    internal extreme Airport card.
The MAC address of this AirPort card wasn't in the
    access list of the ABS.
It looks like ABS does only limit access through
MAC addresses for 802.11b cards. I'll spend some time
    to double check this behaviour.
Did anyone already see this default of access
    control?

I'm pretty well aware of the limitations of any kind of
MAC address control: in an hostile environment its a
"straw house" or an "empty extinguisher".
But in a collaborative and friendly environment I thought
it may be a useful "frontier marker" between "friendly" and
    clearly "hostile" behaviors.
    This belief was foolish.

  • MAC address of WAP- please help!

    greetings,
I am trying to determine the MAC address of the wireless access point that a labtop (with a wireless card is connected to). Is there a way of doing that directly in java? If so, please let me know. Thanks in advance!
    ---Nabo

There is no way to get the MAC address of anything 'directly' in java.
You are of course free to use Runtime.exec() or JNI to get the value.

  • Sync to Entourage and Not Mac Address book and ical HELP

I just got a brand new MacBook Pro (no more PC)!!!! My I Sync my phone and it put all the data in ical and address book. I use Entourage and thats where i would like all my info to go. how do i set up itunes to go to entourage and not the apple sofware.
And Can i sync via bluetooth?
    thanks you

The isync database, as I called it, is really just the master database from which ical, address book, bookmarks, etc., are stored, and it's used for syncing with the .mac service. Entourage can sync with it too, just go to the Entourage menu, choose Preferences, and look under General Preferences for Sync Services. Then check the boxes you want -- I just wanted the contacts to be the same in Entourage and Address Book so I only checked that one. The calendar is kind of funky because iCal uses separate calendars to group events, and I think if you check that box, iCal will then get a new calendar called Entourage, or something like that, in which all the Entourage events will go to and from. That is, I think Entourage will sync only with that iCal calendar, but I could be wrong about that since I don't use it.
Once you check the contacts box, Entourage will populate with all the contacts in your Address Book, and I think if you don't already have contacts there (that is if you've only been using Entourage for your contacts) then it will ask you if you want to put all your Entourage contacts into Address Book. I just don't remember.
Surely someone else out there is more familiar with this, but it should get you started.

  • Cannot transfer contacts from iPhone 3GS to Mac Address book

    Hi there
I've been searching for an answer all over these forums and google, but to no avail.
I'm using a 3GS and I'm on Snow Leopard on the mac.
I have tried resetting the sync utility settings and all other tweaks with the phone and the iTunes panels, but I simply cant add any of the numbers that I have added to my phone on to the mac address book. The contacts are transferred to iCloud though. But there is no way to export the iCloud contacts over to the mac address book either. I have to now manually search for all the new contacts I've added (which is a project in itself) and retype it in the mac address book. Pretty ridiculous!!!!!
Is there a fix for this or is Apple wanting everyone to buy Lion to use the dektop version of iCloud.
    Please let me know
    Thanks
    Best regards

    Hi guys
    Managed to find the solution
    1) On the iPhone go to settings > iCloud > Switch off contacts. (Keep contacts on phone)
    2) Then on the mac go to address book and make an archive of your contacts just in case something goes wrong. You can do this by going to File > Export > Create an archive.
    3) Then delete all the contacts and groups from your mac address book.
    4) Then go to iTunes and backup by right clicking on the iPhone on the sidbar.
    5) Sync
Your contacts from the phone should repopluate the mac address book
Hope that helps. It worked for me
    Best regards

  • How can I find MAC address based on the serial number of a missing IpodTouch 4th Gen?

My Ipod touch 4th Generation is lost.  If I can find the MAC address, the Univeristy can help locate the device.  I have the serial number, is there any way I can find the MAC address based on the serial number?  I did not install a third party app on the IPod to help find it and it is not registered on iCloud, but I used it on iCloud.  Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Did you turn on FindMyiPd is Settings>iCloud and is the iPod connected to wifi? That is all that is needed for for Apple FindMyiPhone
Maybe Apple can find the MAC address

  • Increase MAC Address List

hi, i have just installed a new wirless router wrt54gl. I want to configure the users should connect only using their mac only. but there is restrition to connect only 40 MAC Address. can any body help me to increase this list from 40 to more address.
    thanks in advnace.

Unless you install a 3rd party firmware like dd-wrt or hyperwrt+thibor. See the wikipedia article on "WRT54G" for a start. With 3rd party firmware you have more fields and you have full shell access to the Linux running on the router, i.e. you can actually as many entries you like (or fit in the memory).

  • Help required - mac address table, virtual pc/ip addressing issue

Hi, hope someone out there can help?
    This is the scenario
SW1 (WS-C2960G-48TC-L) port gig0/1 has a PC connected to it with ip address 10.182.8.6 and a Virtual IP address 10.182.8.107
SW2 (WS-C2960-24TT-L)  port gig 0/1 has a PC connected to it with ip address 10.182.8.106
The system is designed so that if there is an issue with the PC connected to SW1, the PC on SW2 will take over the Virtual IP address and continue working.
We have a couple of other PC's in different subnets to the above PC's that use the Virtual IP (VIP) address to communicate with the PC that is 'on line'.
Unfortunately, the vendors software doesn't currently gratuitously refresh the arp to advertise the change of mac address for the VIP.
Is there anyway we can get the 2 dcnsw to 'refresh' on a regular time period to capture when the VIP changes to the other PC?

    Hi Stephen
Without meaning to sound rude, the software which uses a VIP is not very well designed if it is not capable of sending a Gratuitous ARP one the Active one fails.
The default ARP cache timeout is 4 hours so an ARP entry will remain in the table and once the timeout is up, the switch will send an ARP to check if the device is still alive and if not, remove the entry from the table.
You could look at reducing the ARP timeout on a per port basis:
    #interface gi1/0/1
    #arp timeout 60
This will change the ARP cache timeout to 60 seconds for that port but having not used this before, I am not 100% this will address your issue. I would not advise trying to change the global ARP cache timeout for a production switch as this will increase ARP traffic and could cause problems if reduced to a small value.

I have just bought a Humax 7500T PVR and a Humax W-Lan dongle to connect to my Airport Extreme.

I've a few other things connected to the AE such as computers, ipad, itouch, etc, and have never had a problem connecting these once I've entered the mac address into the AE. Can anyone help me with this please?

have you made sure that the network setting in the system preferences is set up to use dhcp? if not i would try changing it so that it shows that it is getting its address by dhcp

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

  • VMM 2012 R2 - Default MAC Address Pools

We have two VMM servers at different sites but on the same network subnet.
Having deployed virtual machines from both VMM servers we have experienced a number of instances where the same MAC address has been allocated to more than one virtual machine (same MAC allocated by each VMM Server).
Consequently, I would like to split the current Default MAC Address Pool range and allocate half to each VMM server.
The documentation suggests that the current "Default MAX Address Pool(s)" should be deleted before the new custom pools are created.
We have already deployed a large number of virtual machines from each VMM server.
Does the deletion of the "Default MAC Address Pool(s)" have any impact on the existing virtual machines with MAC addresses assigned from the default pools?
Will the virtual machines retain there existing MAC addresses or will they be re-allocated new MACs?

Does the deletion of the "Default MAC Address Pool(s)" have any impact on the existing virtual
machines with MAC addresses assigned from the default pools?
Kind of, you cant delete the "Default MAC Address Pool" while VM's have allocated MAC's.
You can revoke MAC's using the "Revoke-SCMACAddress" cmdlet
Will the virtual machines retain there existing MAC addresses or will they be re-allocated new
    MACs?
I would probably choose to first give the VMs MAC addresses from the new pool, then delete
    the default pool.
You will need to grant your VMs with new MAC addresses using the Grant-SCMACAddress
    cmdlet.

  • Lost all my contacts in Mac address book.  Tried syncing my iPhone/iPad contacts to Mac is not working.  Please help

Lost all my contacts in Mac address book.  Tried syncing my iPhone/iPad contacts to Mac via iTunes and is not working.  Please help

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unless you have the contacts backed up somewhere, you won't be able to restore them.
You and your son should have your own iCloud accounts then you can keep your own contacts and calendars etc and avoid deleting each others.

  • Help Please???  Personal web address & .Mac address

    Hey folks-
I have set up my personal domain to be used with my .Mac address by utilizing my CNAME and such.
Now one problem I am having that I'm not sure can be solved....
Is there any way to set up my second site in iWeb to be the only site to utilize my personal domain name?
Here is what I am trying to do:
Site 1 is to play host to my family updates for our newborn.
Site 2 is to play host to my online portfolio for work and freelance.
Problem is I do not want professionals to know that I have a family site also.
I do not want to password protect either sites and I want the sites to work as such:
Site 1( family) to go as web.mac.com/username
Site 2(portfolio) to go as www.personaldomain.com
Can I do this with iWeb and .Mac? Thanks!
    Message was edited by: KindredMac

Unfortunately, when I do this if you type in web.mac.com/username it goes to the personal domain page first.
That's how it is is supposed to work. For your other site you have to use the url
    http://web.mac.com/username/sitename
The only way to totally separate them would be buy another account or manually put your other site in iDisk/Sites. It will then have the url http://homepage.mac.com/username/sitename (not sure all features will work there).
