Mac Adobe Bridge v4.0.0.529 impossible to use

Bridge within the last month Bridge opens very slowly, always incompletely, and has become totally useless for me.  This remains true irrespective of the number of apps I have open on my MacBook Pro w 4GB RAM, 3.06 GHz processor speed.  No change even after a reboot with only Bridge being open.
What do I need to delete or reload to get this operational again?
Thanks!

Hi Larry,
Glad to hear the updates did the trick. My home system was still on 4.0.3, which is why I used that version as an example. Generally speaking, when ever you see an reecent Adobe product version at x.0.0 and it's been out for months, check for updates.
regards,
steve

  • Mac: Adobe Application Manager pops up every time I use any Application

I have a problem using Applications of Adobe Creative Cloud: Every time I click on any icon (Photoshop, Indesign) or on any file (pdf) the Adobe Application Manager pops up and asks me to extend my membership with Adobe Creative Cloud. The selected application does not start with that!
I click "Try again" and the window dissappears - only to show up again. I tried with the Adobe Chat and they told me to uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud and to re-install it afterwards. After this it worked only for one launch of Photoshop, after that again the Application Mananger pops up.
What can I do to re-normalize my Adobe Applications?
Thanks for any help (and please excuse my awful English!)

    Hi olgademi,
Looks like the Adobe Application Manager has gone corrupt. We might need to re-install AAM.
Please uninstall the existing version and download AAM from : http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774

  • Adobe Bridge CS6, Camera Raw

    Hello,
    I need urgently help.
I'm working on a MacBook Pro with Adobe Bridge CS6 since more than 1 year, using Camera Raw, v 8.6.0.254 without any problems.
Last month I bought a Mac Book Air and installed Photoshop Elements 12, Adobe Bridge CS6 and Photoshop CS6. But I'm still missing the possibility to open my pictures in Camera Raw.
After downloading the actual version 7.01 of Camera Raw from the website of Adobe.com and trying to install it I got the following error report:
    UPDATE FEHLGESCHLAGEN;
Updates konnten nicht installiert werden. Dieser Path ist für Sie nicht geeignet.
Name of the downloaded program is: AdobeCameraRaw-7.1-mul-AdobeUpdate.
What shall I do to get Camera Raw running?
Thanks so much for your help

  • IPhoto: Using Adobe Bridge

I am presently using both iPhoto and FCPX. I only use iPhoto store the photos and images I use in albums. If I need to modify them I take them into Photoshop and then save them backin iPhoto. However, I now have about 5,000 images and feel a need to be able to sort them further and do more global commands on them (such as resize). For this, I really miss using Adobe Bridge. Is there a way to use Adobe Bridge with iPhoto?

Thank you. I am beginning to think I need to investigate exactly what and how much iPhoto really does. I didn't know it was this powerful. I will go to the link you gave me.
I think I am feeling overwhelmed with so many images because I need to find a good way to organize them via keyword (which I know iPhoto does - I just don't know how to select by keyword "yet").
I did like the capability in Bridge of selecting a lot of photos together and resizing them to all the same size in one command (via Photoshop).
I really do need a powerful photo manager so I need to understand how much iPhoto can do for me. I see I also have a lot of duplicates now so my initial idea of sorting by photo album name was not a good idea. I need to use keywords instead.
If iPhoto doesn't allow me to resize a batch of photos in one command, for the few times I need to do it, I can always export them into a folder and then do it in Photoshop because I would want to retain the photo in its original size anyway.
Now to the link you gave me . . .

  • IPhoto with Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 and Adobe Bridge

I have not used iPhoto before now as I have been downloading photos from my Canon and Nikon cameras using their software. I have now moved everything into iPhoto but cannot find iPhoto using Adobe Bridge so I am unable to do any editing using Elements 4. Previously I could find the Canon and Nikon photos using Adobe Bridge. With a simple click on the relevant photo it opened up in Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 and I was able to edit it. Now using Bridge I simply cannot find iPhoto thus I cannot use PSE4. Can someone help before I go crazy ? I havde called Apple support but they have been unable to help me and suggested using Discussions@Apple

Many thanks for your quick response although, as a new iMac user, the mere mention of the word "corrupt" scares me ! I previously used a PC with Windows XP and PSE3 and loved being able to sort all my photos into albums with PSE3. Unfortunately the PSE4 which I have installed on my iMac doesn't let users sort their photos into albums and the only alternative is Adobe Bridge. I only recently started to use iPhoto after a visit to an Apple Store and it's great being able to catalog my photos so easily. Unfortunately PSE is far and away superior to any editing software that iPhoto has to offer. Anyway, I'll cross my fingers and try your suggestion first thing tomorrow morning.

  • Cannot download Creative Cloud due to Adobe Bridge error

My Windows based computer will not allow me to download any of the CS6 products available through the Creative Cloud subscription. The error I continue to receive is that Adobe Bridge is open. I've since used the Adobe Cleanup Tool to delete my previous CS5 Master Collecter. I've also deleted the Bridge task in the task manager. I'm still getting the same error. I'm sure someone has an easy fix to this. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks John for your reply. After I made this post yesterday, I went back and gave it another try and everything worked out fine. I do believe it was a combination of using the Adobe cleaning tool, task manager AND rebooting several times that finally got my programs downloaded. And by the way, I running Windows 7.

  • Adobe Bridge CS5 quit unexpectedly  OS X 10.7.5

    Adobe Bridge CS5 quit unexpectedly!
    I am using OS X 10.7.5.
    Thanks

Unfortunately these things happen.  If a restart cures the problem just put it down to bad luck.  If it keeps happening then it could be an incompatibility with CS5 and 10.7.5.  Make sure that you also check the Adobe Website for the latest updates and ensure you have them installed.  People like Adobe are seeded the updates before we get them and are supposed(?) to bring out any updates that address incompatibilities.  Sadly it doesn't always work!  Also, if necessary identify any new Third Party Software you may have added since upgrading to 10.7.5 and if the problem continues temporarily remove that software just in case it's causing problems.  Don't just remove it - especially if you paid for it - just disable it so that you can put it back afterwards! Or remove it and restore it from your back-up.  That's probably easier.
I get unexpected Quits at various times.  It can affect Safari, iTunes , iPhoto , Microsoft Office in fact almost anything!  There's no consistency to it and I must say with me simply relaunching the program again usually cures the problem.  It can happen simply because you've been clicking the mouse too enthusiastically and the computer - in trying to keep up - has simply lost itself!
Like I said unless it keeps happening just chalk it up to "One of those annoying things".
Also, external disc drives can cause problems.  I use Western Digital Drives and I must say that now I've decided to unplug them until I need them everything is much more stable.  I get no end of spinning beachballs with the drives connected - but none with them disconnected.  It's a bit of a pain because Time Machine is supposed to work in the background (which it does superbly as long as the darn disc drive behaves!)

  • Adobe Bridge CC Turn Off Text Auto Complete

How do I turn off automatic text completion when entering data into the description field (file info > Description > Description)?
    Program: Adobe Bridge CC
    Thanks,
    Drew

    What OS are you using?
Like Curt I think this is an OS thing. However, there have been longstanding requests for Bridge using dictionary and auto completion, to my knowledge this has not been achieved yet.

  • Debugging Adobe Bridge

    Hi
I’m currently implementing a CMIS server as my bachelor thesis. I am using adobe drive 4 to connect the creative suite 6 with my cmis repository. This works pretty well, but I have one problem with adobe bridge, which I already described in this thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/5308144 .
To summarize the problem, I’m having a endless loop while opening a cmis folder. At the moment I have no clue why this happens. I already wasted a lot of time with various trial and error bugfixing, but I wasn’t able to fix it.
So my main questing is. Is there a possibility to debug adobe bridge, like a logfile?
    I’m using CS6 and Adobe Drive4.2 on MacOS 10.8.3.
I hope someone can help me with these hard questions.
    Thanks

Sorry I have not worked with Adobe Drive, but have done a fair amount of scripting in Bridge. Any error in your code will create an endless loop  and you will have to force close Bridge.
Also Bridge will cache the code you really need to re-start Bridge each time you run the new code, it's a pain.
You will have to start with the minimum of code and plenty of alerts to see where you are in the code.
You may be better working with an older version of Bridge as CS6 is terrible.
All the very best and hope you manage to sort it.

  • How to remove the default Digital ID in my mac Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.3.1?

    Dear All,
I have my mac Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.3.1, I never used it to sign a document, and last week, after I opened up a document created from my lab's PC computer with Window 9 version of Acrobat Pro, the Digital ID with someone's name somehow has been encrypted in my Mac. The reason I said that the name has been encrupted in my Mac is because no matter how I do with the form, including getting a new form to start with, or removing the signature filed or getting the form with another PC to work with my Mac acrobat, when I go to the Sign form, the particular name and ID, which requires a password, has always been there. I called the Adobe to help, was told that since this is verison 8.3.1, I was advised to come here. Please help me with. Thank you.

Thanks George for the help, I managed to create my own ID using your
approach, Advanced > Security Settings > Digital IDs > add ID, but when I
signed it with the PDF of my signature, it is showed as my name in Typing
such as "XXX YY", instead of the handwritten form. I managed to use the
same PDF of my signature (signed and converted to PDF) last week when I
used the Pro 9, how can I attach my signature the same way in handwritten
form instead of being convered to "XXX YY" and appears "digitally signed"
    Thanks again.

  • Adobe Bridge CS6 on Mac problem

I cannot get Adobe Bridge CS6 to run on my Mac. Just bought Photoshop CS6 and downloaded from adobe.

Solved it. Somehow the app itself was in my trash even though the Adobe Bridge CS6 folder was in my Applications folder. Added the app to the folder and was good to go.

  • Adobe Bridge CS6 (Mac) won't open .arw files from my Sony RX100. How do I get and install the right version of Camera Raw?

Adobe Bridge CS6 (Mac) won't open .arw files from my Sony RX100. I was told to update Camera Raw to at least 7.2. I tried to download this but got a DNG Converter instead. Where is Camera Raw? (it does not show up in a search of my hard drive. There is a folder of camera profiles but no extension or plug-in with this name). How do I find out what version I have already? How do I get the correct version?  . . . OR . . . is it the case that Bridge will never open Sony raw files directly and I will have to do a separate conversion process every time I want to use a raw file??. Can someone explain this?
    Thanks.

A Good samaritan answered this for me on another forum

  • Adobe Bridge CS6 Mac cannot be launched

    Dear Adobe community!
I just installed my brand new CS6 Design & Web Premium Suite on my MacBook Pro running OS X 10.8.3 and installed all of the available CS6 updates.
Unfortunately I cannot launch Bridge  (version 5.0.2.4) from my account (admin privileges) - after double clicking the icon the application window shows up for just a fraction of a second and I receive a pop-up window saying something like "operation could not be completed successfully" (I am running a German language version).
    - Trying to start Bridge from PS results in the same error mesage.
    - Trashing the Bridge preference file did not change anything.
    - Starting Bridge with the option key pressed and forcing reset of all parameters to default does not change anything.
    - Booting my Mac into safe mode (pressing shift key on startup) does not help.
But creating a new user on my single-user Mac allows to launch Bridge when logged in to that new account.
I'd be more than happy to receive some helpful coments from the experts around here!
    Oliver

    Update - problem finally solved!
    What happened in between:
I started a chat session with one of the Adobe support guys. He said that the cause for the malfunction was most likely a conflict with permissions.
After I told him that I had tried to repair permissions several times by Apple's Disk Utility without success he suggested me to copy the following file / directory from my newly generated "Test" user (under whom Bridge could be launched effortlessly):
    [username]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.bridge5.0.plist
    and the whole directoy
    [username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CS6
If that would not resolve my problem there was no other "cure" for my problem because of an irreparable permission conflict.
After that I logged in under the new user "Test" and copied the mentioned files / directoy to a separate drive, logged in back as my standard user (the account where Bridge refused to start) and overwrote the files I had just exported before.
Result: Same problems - Bridge refused to start as before.
    Dang...
So there is no way to solve this problem like Adobe said?
Presuming that the pending permission problem was the cause for my Bridge-issue I decided to "force" permissions:
I went to OS X Finder, marked the home directoy of my problematic account, typed cmd + I to open the info window, went to the bottom section where permissions are listed, wnet to the user group "admin" and marked this group as "read and write" (it was read only before!) and chose the option to apply theses settings to all of the sub-directories and files (icon with the gear-wheel).
After the changes where applied I restarted my Mac and logged in as my standard user and opened Bridge:
Bridge started but showed the sub-directories of my "Test" account. So I shut down Bridge, deleted the com.adobe.bridge5.0.plist file from my standard account, rebooted my Mac - and voilà - Bridge works like a charme!
FInally I wouldn't say that there was no "plan B"...
Maybe this workaround can be helpful for someone out there!
    Regards,
    Oliver

  • Adobe Bridge CC (Mac) isn't showing collections generated in Bridge CS6

Opening Adobe Bridge CC doesn't show the collections I generated in Adobe Bridge CS6. Both versions of Bridge are on the same Mac and opened within the same User account (of the operating system). In Bridge CS6 (which seems to not open while running Bridge CC) still shows the collections and smart collections.
    Question:
Is there any way to import these collections or is there another way to show those collections in Bridge CC?

Is there any way to import these collections or is there another way to show those collections in Bridge CC?
Collections are version and user specific. If you want them also in CC you have to copy the collection files manually from CS6 to CC
Open two windows in your finder. Go to the user library (per OSX10.7 hidden by default, use menu Go with option to reveal) and follow this path:
user (your username)/ Library/ Application Support / Adobe/ Bridge CS6 / Collections. inhere should be some files with your saved collection names and the extension .filelist
Copy these to the same location but now instead of CS6 CC.
This should make you collections also available in Bridge CC after restarting it.
Be careful to depend on collections, they are not all that reliable for the long run. If you have put a lot of work in one collection then select all and add the name of the collection also as a keyword to the files itself, this way you have a good back up when things go wrong
