I have Windows 8. Itunes is not recognising either my ipad or iphone. IPhone apps not opening - have tried all the usual fixes
A few days ago I got my iPhone unlocked from my provider (Telstra) as I am about to travel and wanted to put a country specific sim in it. Since then no non-Apple apps have worked.
I have tried (many times) to :-
1. restore from a previous backup (plus multiple syncs) and using different backups
2. delete an app and reinstall it
3. download a new free app (and when that didn't work I deleted it and retried installing it)
4. sign in and out of the app store on the iphone
5. sign in and out of the app store on my iMac
6. de-authorise and re-authorise my iMac
7. wipe the iPhone clean and start with a fresh install
8. And reset the device too many times.
Nothing I have found on any site has worked. I thought the wipe the phone clean would have done it but it hasn't.I have wasted about 20 hours trying to get this thing working again.
If I wasn't going on vacation tomorrow I would be at my provider getting them to fix their mess but I can't.
Can anyone help? Please?

(Apps are active - just won't stay open)Further - the AppleId I am using is the one I first started with years ago - where all my music and app purchases have been made. Signing out of this AppleId and then signing in using my "me.com" address and downloading an app under this address allows the new app (and only the new app) to work. And it continues to work when I sign out and sign back in with the original AppleId.
This is really annoying as I have heaps of paid apps that aren't working. -
My wifes iphone will not allow her to download from the app store when not connected to the computer. Does anyone know what is wrong?

my imac will not connect to wifi what so ever. i have tried 3 different routers and all my other apple devices work fine. when i take it to the genius bar it seems to work with apples instore wifi. thus leading the "geniuses" to say nothing is wrong.

Step 2
If you're running OS X 10.8.4 or later, run Wireless Diagnostics and take the remedial steps suggested in the summary that appears, if any. The program also generates a large file of information about your system, which would be used by Apple Engineering in case of a support incident. Don't post the contents here.
Step 3
If you're not using a wireless keyboard or trackpad, disable Bluetooth by selecting Turn Bluetooth Off from the menu with the Bluetooth icon. If you don't have that menu, open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked Show Bluetooth in menu bar. Test. Continue if you find that Wi-Fi is faster with Bluetooth disabled.
From that same menu, select Open Bluetooth Preferences. If the box labeled Discoverable is checked, uncheck it. Click the Advanced button, and in the sheet that opens, uncheck the top three boxes, if any are checked. Click OK. Enable Bluetooth and test again.
If the application called "Bluetooth Setup Assistant" is running, quit it.
Step 4
This step will erase all your settings in the Network preference pane. Make a note of them before you begin, and recreate them afterwards. It may be helpful to take screenshots of the preference pane.

Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional — ask if you need guidance.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.

After upgrading to ios6 my iphone will not open .xls files in emails with the default viewer. Is there a fix for this? The same emailed .xls files still open on my ipad using ios5 while viewing email like they did on my iphone prior to upgrading. I have no special software like numbers or anything else installed on either device. Just using the default viewer provided by apple for viewing email.
The attachment is an .xls excel 97-2003 spreadsheet. I viewed the file in the email and did not edit it with any software. I can forward the file to anyone that is may want to check it out to see if they can help me. I was wondering if there was some way of forcing another ios6 install on my phone and maybe that would solve it.
Is there anyone out there that is viewing .xls files in email using ios6 w/o any other software installed like numbers or any other add ons? I am not upgrading my ipad from ios5 to ios6 so I can still continue to view the emails on my ipad. Is there an email viewer .xls plug-in that will be availablle in the next ios6 update? -

Did you check the side control and make sure it isn't on mute. Up for ringer down for mute.

What do you mean it won't save date? What exactly are you pressing and what happens or doesn't happen?
Try this:
Open the Calendar App and Tap Calendar at the bottom of the screen. Make sure all calendars have checkmarks, then Tap Done. Do your events show up now? -

While both the iPhone and the iPad use an Apple dock cable for charging, the iPad wants a 1100 mA charger, and the iPhone charger's a 500 mA charger. USB ports on newer Apple computers can switch into 1100 mA mode, but your average computer is going to put out no more than 500 mA and, possibly, quite less (for example, an un-powered USB hub will only put out 100 mA or so, and an iPad won't charge off that). The iPad will say "not charging" if it is trickle-charging (receiving less than 1000 mA of power).
If the problem persists when using the 1100 mA iPad charger, you need to take it to an Apple store and have it serviced or replaced. Bring the iPad charger that you received with the iPad as it may be that the charger is defective and not putting out 1100 mA.
If the problem is that it charges slow because it's being connected to iPhone chargers or PCs or older Macs, then it's not a problem with the iPad. It's charging, it just takes a long time because you are using an under-powered charger. -

Take it to your local Apple Store and have the genius take a look. If it won't respond at all, it sounds like a hardware failure.

You should not see anything labeled iCloud in Windows Explorer. -
