  • 5th generation Ipod Touch won't charge past 20%?

I bought my 32 gb 5th generation Ipod Touch not more than 2 weeks ago at my local Walmart. Everything was working perfectly until today. All day, my ipod would charge until 20%.. run on this charge for approximately 10 minutes, and then die again. It does not continue charging after the 20% mark and I'm not quite sure how to verify that it does. I've tried using the charger with different usb ports/computers but still no luck. My ipod has been going through some pretty cold conditions temperature-wise the last few days.. does that have any affecton the battery maybe? Ahh, at this point I'm just frustrated.. hopefully someone knows how to fix this!

    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Try another cable
    - Try another charging source
    - Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.

  • Why does iTunes 11 not see my second generation iPod touch?

I have a 2nd gen iPod touch which is supposed to work with iTunes 11 (http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12242) and was a few months ago. I only sync it occasionally since I use it as a jukebox in my vehicle. The iPod is model PB528LL with IOS version 4.2.1 (8C148). iTunes is version 11.1 on OS X 10.8.5. The iPod is recognized by iPhoto, but not iTunes. I've tried resetting it but it didn't help.

I tried all those steps with no luck, but when I restarted my keyboard stopped working too. I powered completely off, then back on and that fixed it.

  • ITunes does not recognize my 2nd generation iPod Touch.

The computer sees it but iTunes doesn't.
o iTunes diagnostics says no device is connected.
    o I AM using the Apple-supplied cord.
o I've tried ALL the USB ports.
o I've stopped and restarted Apple support utlities then rebooted PC. (Multiple times)
o I've uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes. (Shut down PC after uninstall. Deleted Apple directory from AppData. Shut down PC agan. Downloaded iTunessetup then reinstalled.)
o Another iTunes (same version) PC recognizes my Touch and wants to sync it.
What's changed since the last successful sync?
    o Updated Windows to 8.1.
    o Updated iTunes to 11.1.3.8.
o I have disabled some irritating Dell run-in-background utilities. (The PC is a Dell Inspiron 14R.)
Short of buying a new iPod Touch, what do I need to do to get my Touch synced?
    Thank you.

    GOT IT!!!!!
The following steps worked for me:
    1. Uninstall iTunes.
    2. Uninstall Apple Application Support
    3. Uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support.
    4. Uninstall Apple Software Update
    5. Uninstall Bonjour.
==> In summary, uninstall EVERYTHING Apple. (I left Quicktime installed as a gamble and won.)
    6. Reboot PC.
    7. Open Windows File Explorer and go to the C: drive.
    8. Delete any folders with a name that includes "Apple" in Program Files.
    9. Delete the Bonjour folder from Program Files.
    10. Delete any folders with a name that includes "Apple" in Program Files (x86).
    11. Delete the Bonjour folder from Program Files (x86).
    12. Delete any folders with a name that includes "Apple" in ProgramData.
    13. Delete any folders with a name that includes "Apple" in Users\username\AppData\Local.
    14. Delete any folders with a name that includes "Apple" in Users\username\AppData\LocalLow.
    15. Delete any folders with a name that includes "Apple" in Users\username\AppData\Roaming.
==> In summary, wander around the C: drive and delete any folders that have "Apple" in their name wherever you can find them. (There should be no folders with 'iTunes" in their name except possibly in Music. That can be left. So can all the folders named "iPod Photo Cache" in Pictures.)
    16. Reboot PC.
    17. Now that any known association with Apple has been removed from the PC, re-install iTunes. (Note: It may be necessary to re-authorize the PC for any content downloaded onto the iPod.)

  • HT1476 My 5th generation ipod touch refuses to charge. Help!

My original charger I had was damaged by water so I bought another one but now this one isn't working. I plug it in but my ipod is not displaying that its charging. Should I get another usb charger or get a wall charger?

    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use. Also, some third-party cables do not work or fail after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • I used my ipad to transfer music to my wife's pc, now I have reconnected to my mac and itunes is not recognsing it - the ipad is not showing in the sidebar

I used my ipad to transfer music to my wife's pc, now I have reconnected to my mac and itunes is not recognsing it - the ipad is not showing in the sidebar and syncing not happening. I have tried resetting ipad and restarting etc but still no joy. Anyone had a similar experience?

Take it to the Apple Store for evaluation.
    Try this.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the Sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut Off. To power up hold the Sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time (for about 10-15 seconds) until the Apple logo appears (ignore the red slider), then let go of the buttons.

well i have to be honest, but i don't know if it the vista you use has any significance for this. but you can try.
    okay follow:
1: click "start" on the status line on the buttom of your screen.
2: then click on "all Programs" and find "Accessories" and find the "command prompt"
3: Right click with your mouse "command prompt" and click on "run as administrator"
(as you has click'd on "run as administrator", "command prompt" should appear.)
4: when it appears you need to type this "netsh windsock reset"
5: wait for your computer to registrer the command you gave it, and restart your computer.
then erverything should be pretty much as good or better then new.

On the computer you should be able to go to the network properites. Go to the TCP part and unchec the line that says obtaind DNS automatically and check the one that says use the following. Add the 8.8.8.8 and Google other 8.8.4.4.

  • 5th generation iPod Touch speaker is not working with music and apps, but the alarm sound goes off fine. Why?

I have a 5th generation iPod Touch and it got a small amount of water in it around the speaker. When I tried to see if my music would play through it, it couldn't. But, when I tried my alarm to make sure I could still hear it, you could. The sound was fine from the alarm, not as loud as it used to be but I could still hear it. Why doesn't the sound work with my music and apps? Also, would I be able to exchange it if I have a warranty?

What is the provisioning feature in the settings under, general>profile? It says something about "provisioning". What does that mean and what does it do?? (It's on my 5th generation iPod touch, black, iOS 6.1.3

A profile is used on iOS device to add specific settings and similar things to an iOS device.  Tryically, they are added when the iOS devices is controlled by a company or school.
However, some apps install a profile. If your iPod is not controlled by a company or school then it seems an app added the profile. You can good the title if the profile and see if that gives any info.

After updating my 5th-generation iPod touch to iOS 8.3, none of my apps will update.  It goes to the point of showing the square inside the circle, and all activity stops after that.  Does anyone know how to resolve this?

If the app has not data yo can try deleting the app and reinstalling
You can also download on computer and sync to the iPod.
Last, backup your iPod and restore from backup

None of the apps on my 5th Generation iPod touch will open. I have restored it but it still does the same thing. What should I do next?

Try restoring to factory settings (not from backup) and redownloading your content.
