Mac and sony walkman mp3

I 've recently bought an iMac and before that I was using a pc running windows.I have a sony walkman mp3 which needs the sonicstage programm to connect to a computer. Is it possible to use it on a mac?

To quote from Apple Forum member Paul Judd, who answered this question previously:
"Nope, ATRAC and Magic Gate (the two technologies that Sonly sues to transfer data) are proprietary and controlled by them. There has not been any software available to the Macs that handles these technologies. They are PC only programs and since Sony owns them, they wouldnt be too keen to other companies reverse engenerrig their software to prot it to anybody else.
Your only option is to run SonicStage under bootcamp or Paralells."
Hope this helps

  • How do I transfer an audiobook from iTunes (purchased from the iTunes Store) to a Sony Walkman MP3 player so I can listen to it?

I purchased two audiobooks form the iTunes store. They both have DRM.
I have used 2 out of 5 of my downloads on a personal computer and an iPod. I tried to use 2 more of my downloads on a second computer to transfer the books to a Sony Walkman, but was unable. How can I do this?

rip to itunes, put it in a playlist that you usually sync to your phone and then sync.

  • Sony Walkman MP3 Player

I recently downloaded songs to my walkman from a music download site. When i try to play some songs i get an error message. it says i can't play certain songs unless i update my license information

I apologize that no one replied to your post any sooner. I am not sure what could be causing this. I would advise speaking to Sony to see if there is a quick fix for this. Here is their support site for their MP3 players. Try plugging in your information to see if its a common problem with an easy fix.

  • Mac and Sony HDD

I have purchased a MacBook Pro this year and whomn a Sony HDD HandyCam DCR-SR100. The issue is that I am still not able to get the audio track on my Mac.
After reading few article on this subject I did the following :
Intalled QuickTime Playe 7 for Mac
Purchased Installed MPEG - 2 Playback Component
Purchased (not received yet) QuickTime Pro
    Intalled Flip4Mac WMV from Windows
Upgrade to WMV Studio Pro HD
Instaled Windows Media for Mac OS X 9
    Purchased iLife to have iMovie
Have triger ALL reading option within Quicktime in the advanced tab
Well after all this and expense, it still not work.
When I read my file on a PC, they are in a Windows Media Player version and work GREAT. But as soon as I plug my external hard driv in my Mac, they show as an MPG format. The video is OK, but simply no sound.
What he **** I am suposed to do...
Please don’t tell me to change my Cam, if we sent Armstrong to the moon in 1969, we sure must be to solve this issue in 2008.

Sounds like that cam produces an audio file processed with a non-supported codec. Not too hopeful about getting it to work.....maybe contact Sony and see if they have info that could help.

  • Trasfering Library to Sony Walkman

Is it possible to transfer songs in my itunes library to my Sony Walkman? I have done it by copying to file and converting it, but its a long process, and it doesn't transfer the artwork. Can anyone help please?

    Hi,
    can you keep me posted..
I also (posted) a similar question, and thus far have had no response?
Does anyone know how/ if we can transfer files between Apple I-mac and Sony Walkman..?

  • ITunes & Sony Walkman?

Can I sync songs downloaded into my Windows PC with a Sony Walkman MP3?

Only the iPod/iPhone range and the older iTunes enabled phones from Motorola are compatible with iTunes. If your Walkman shows up as an external drive in Windows Explorer and allows you to drag and drop music files then you should be able to add compatible files directly from your iTunes Music folder.
You may be able to get your player working with iTunes with the aid of a third party helper programs. Have a look at this one and see what you think: iTunes Agent -Windows

  • Is there a way to transfer songs from a Sony 16GB MP3 player to an iPod Classic? Tried dragging the songs to iTunes, only accepted 1400 of the songs. MP3 player was full.  I also had compiled the songs in a specific order and iTunes changed order.

The songs from the Sony MP3 player need to be imported into your iTunes library first before they can be synced or added to your iPod Classic.
Regarding the songs that didn't import into iTunes, what format are they in and what seems to be different from them compared with the tracks that did import?

  • My old computer (a Sony) with my iTunes crashed. I have a new MAC and want to make sure I can keep all of my music (mostly from old CD's that have been lost). I bought iTunes match hoping that would work but it isn't using the data on my phone. HELP!

Since you have purchased a new Mac (which, BTW, is not typed in all capitals) why not buy a Time Capsule <http://www.apple.com/airport-time-capsule/> which is designed specifically to work with OS X and Time Machine?
You don't say what part of your Sony "crashed." If it was not the HDD it is possible to take the computer apart, put the HDD in an external case, then recover the data off of it (including the music) simply drag-n-drop. If it was the HDD that "crashed" that makes it more difficult.
If you are able to recover the music from the Sony you can then add it to the iTunes library on the Mac and iTunes Match will then scan, match and upload the tracks to be mirrored in the cloud.

  • Has anyone linked an old Sony Walkman cassette player to a Mac mini

    Hi everyone,
Happy new year to the community. I am trying to find a way to use my old Walkman cassette so that I can covert my cassettes to cd. I have a USB cassette player that works but it sounds a bit tinny, whereas the Walkman is far superior, any suggestion will be very welcomed.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
I just tried using the IMic and my Walkman, unfortunately as the Walkman has one socket for earphones and the other socket is for a 3.5v mains plug. I am not sure if there is anything I can do.  I do have a conventional cassette recorder/player but it needs to be connected to an amplifier.  That is all very well, however, I am concerned about connecting the amplifier to the mac mini.  Before I do, is there any special adapter leads that I need to use, I am a little naive on this matter.
    Thank you

  • I purchased Lightroom 5, loaded it on my Mac, and updated to version 5.6. I then tried importing photos from my Sony DSC-RX100iii. Unfortunately it only imports JPEG files but no RAW files. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

Than LR should have brought in the RAW files as well. ACR is the RAW
processing engine used by LR under the covers so anything not supported by
ACR would not be supported by Lightroom.
Are you shooting RAW plus JPEG? By default, Lightroom will stack then
unless you tell it not to. Check to see if there is a small badge on the
preview that looks like two sheets of paper with a number. That is how
Lightroom indicates a stack. You can unstack them by clicking on the badge.
There is also a menu item to stack/unstack photos. Otherwise, I would have
to research but not sure why Lightroom would ignore the RAW photos but
    still import the JPEGS.

  • I changed my Adobe user ID when we changed from Windows PC to Mac and now I am unable to read previously downloaded ebooks on my Sony Reader device due to Digital Rights Management.  Can I resolve this?

I changed my Adobe user ID when we changed from Windows PC to Mac and now I am unable to read previously downloaded ebooks on my Sony Reader device due to Digital Rights Management.  Any ideas how I can get access to these now?

    Hi Blotontheland,
Thanks for the prompt reply. The interesting thing is that my Macbook Pro was upgraded today to Yosemite and I still have the spinning wheel on the start up screen before the login page comes up.

  • Are there any known problems with Macs and the mp3 playback in Adobe Connect ?

One user using an Apple Mac has complained of not being able to hear the mp3 sound playback in a meeting.
Is this a problem with Apple Mac and mp3 compatibility or is it an individual soundcard issue ?

I use several Macs with Adobe Connect and I have even created MP3 files for playback in the room. Works fine on all my macs. It's basic Flash. Suggest they clear their browser cache, replace their host-add-in if using one. Run the audio wizard as well to make sure sound is working in Connect.
All of the Adobe Connect Government engineers use Macs all the time so we've never had an issue with MP3's.

They maybe corrupt, try transferring again from the g4. If iTunes is giving you an error then you need to authorize your computer with the same iTunes account as previously. Also, you could try exporting your iTunes library via iTunes on the g4.

  • Sony Walkman and Android Wear

    Hello,
I am using a Xperia Z3 with the latest firmware together with a LG G Watch. There is a bug with the Sony Walkman app on the watch when the phone is connected via bluetooth to the watch. If I turn off the bluetooth connection (when I turn off the phone for example) the watch will pop up a Sony Walkman message saying that it can not find any music to play. If I sync a play list to the watch, when I turn off the bluetooth connection the watch launches the Sony Walkman app.
    Thanks,
    Nathan

There are two options, one lets you choose which music player to launch on the phone and this works fine when you set it to Walkman. The other is an app that is listed in the watches app collection and lets you play music straight from the watch over bluetooth headsets. Its this app that trys to launch every time I disconnect the watch from the phone.
In any case I just blocked the Walkman notifications on the watch as I don't use it to play music directly from the watch and that basically solves the problem. But if I did want to play music from the watch and not just control the phone's Walkman app it would be annoying to have this notification pop up all the time.

  • Sharing my mp3 folder between Mac and PC partitions

    Hello,
I'm a Mac newbie considering Bootcamp on a new MacBook Pro. I'm wondering what's the best way to share a folder of mp3's (about 10 GB) between my Mac and Windows partitions. I read that Fat32 partitions can be shared but they are very wasteful of disk space. What's the alternative and is it reliable? Thanks in advance!

I use MacDrive to enable Windows to see the Mac partition. Then you can tell iTunes not to copy the songs when added. I think you can even copy the iTunes Music Library.xml from the mac side
