Mac App has not been signed by a recognised distributor?
After i download any .dmg and install it by putting it in the 'Applications' folder. I then try to open it from the applications folder and it says -“ANY .DMG FILE I DOWNLOAD” has not been signed by a recognized distributor and may damage your computer. You should move it to the Trash. It will not let me open the applications. I feel that it is a Lion problem because it says it with any .dmg file i download. What can i do to fix this?
Don't put the .dmg file in the Applications folder.
Place it somewhere else, like on the Desktop. Then open it by double-clicking it, and run the istaller (if it has one) or follow the installation instructions (usually presented in a text document).
Opening a .dmg file often, and running an installer almost always, will require admin approval via entering the admin password in a splash screen. This is a safety/security feature, to prevent nefarious software from being able to auto-install.
There are some settings in System Prefrerences > Security & Privacy > General which can be used to make some adjustments to the level of security employed.

Getting around "VI has not been signed" error
I downloaded some vi's for communicating with the serial port on a Watlow F4 process controller from Watlow's website (which are written for LabVIEW 7), and then downloaded the evaluation version of LabVIEW 7.0. But when I try to open the Watlow vi's, I get an error message "LabVIEW load error code 34: VI has not been signed." Is there anything I can do to be able to open these vi's?

Yes, one solution is to sign the VIs using the LabVIEW Player VI Creation Toolkit,
but since (if) you don't have a the LabVIEW Professional Development
System available to sign the VIs, there's an easier solution. Install
the LabVIEW Evaluation version in "Evaluation Mode" instead of "Player
Mode". You will then be able to open the VIs and even edit them.
However, there are some other limitations to the "Evaluation Mode".

Is this a problem with the upgraded IOS?It's more likely that the App make needs to provide and update for iOS6.

Can I use "Back to My Mac" to access a Mac that has not been logged in to?
I bought a Mac Mini and set it up with "Back to My Mac". I have set it up with Automatic login right now, but I would like to deactivate it.
When the computer is on, but at the login screen step of the boot up, is it possible to access it with "Back to my Mac"? I am under the impression that that is not possible.
Thanks for any insights you guys might have in your current setup.Both TC should be in bridge mode. Is that what you have done? You cannot use the TC in router mode as it will cause double NAT problems.

the podcast app is not fixed still wont download,did not find any solutions with anyones comments,they all have the same problem with this app.So how can you say the problem is fixed,get someone who knows how to really do something so it is not a recurring topic of frustration!!!!!
You might get more replies to this (but not from Apple, who you will recall, do not monitor these discussions) if you had posted in the Podcasts for iOS discussions, but never mind. At least in this post you've mentioned that your problem is with the Podcast App, something you didn't mention in your previous post. Consequently, my comments were based on "problems downloading Podcasts", not "problems with the new Podcast App".
(I don't use the new Podcast App, since I cannot install iOS 5 on my Touch. So I stick with the older method of listening to Podcasts on my iPod.) That said however...
It cannot have escaped Apple's attention that the new Podcast App has not been well received. Although these discussions tend to focus on what's wrong rather than what's right, it does appear that the App hasn't been well thought out.
In particular, the Auto Play feature, which - once an episode has finished playing, the "next most recent unplayed episode" will begin. Now, maybe I'm wrong but to me that means that it plays the Podcasts in reverse date order, so episode 19 will play after episode 20 and episode 18 after ep.19! That is how the iPod Classic plays Podcasts by default and the Classic forum is littered with posts from people who think this is barmy. (I think it's barmy too!)
I use an iPod Touch as well. Although not perfect, playing Podcasts on the Touch is far easier than on a Classic.
You are unlikely to find any "solutions" to the issues with the Podcast App, because the "solution" is for Apple to redesign it.
If you are assuming that the update of 25th july is a claim that it's fixed... oh dear! I notice that the App views, shown in the Store, still include that "tortoise and hare" screen with what appears to be the transport mechanism for a reel-to-reel tape deck. That alone tells me there is no real improvement to the App. It really is the worst graphic Apple have ever produced! I'll be surprised if anyone under 35 recognises that graphic as a reel-to-reel tape deck.
Actually, I have a question for you.
If you have the Podcast App installed on your Touch, does that mean that the previous method of listening to Podcasts has been removed from your iPod, or can you still access them in the Music App? If you can, abandon the Podcast App and use the old method. If not, please warn me in order that I don't purchase a new iPod Touch until Apple fix this!

My Mac has been stolen, but I have my iCloud account setup. The "find my mac" app has found the apartment block it's in, but I need an IP address for the police to go and claim it. Is there a way to see the IP address of my Mac through iCloud? I've tried to get the IP address through Gmail and Dropbox but no success. Is there any software that updates automatically that I could find the IP address through?
Shouldn't the IP address be on the box you bought the machine in? If you have the box, take it to the police as evidence that it's your machine. If I were you, I would set the firmware password when you get it back, but make sure you have the password written down in a safe place. If you forget it, there's only two ways to reset it. Either pay $400+ for the tool that can do it, or pay almost nothing for Apple to do it, I think it depends on where you live. The firmware password is this encrypted password and it can't be hacked either. The password prevents anyone from booting the machine into recovery mode, thus preventing them from restoring the computer to factory settings or performing any other functions. It's not stored in the hard drive so replacing that will be of no use either.

Yes, look in Activity Monitor (Applications /Utilities /Activity Monitor.app) and see what it eating up all the %CPU. If anything is over 40%, post the name here to get advice or just kill it straight away with the red 'Quit' button.
If nothing is using up CPU resources, but the fans are going full blast, do an SMC reset. Read the instructions here:

I try to sign with my apple ID and it keeps telling me to turn cookies on and they are already on then it tells me that my new id has not been used in ITunes yet. Any ideas?
Log into your account and review/verify your payment method. On the iPod go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID>View Apple ID.

Regarding iMessage, when i want to send text to a person in my contacts app, i've been getting a message saying the number has not been registered with iMessage. How can one fix this problem? It works on the iPhone.
It takes two to tango, maybe it's your recipient that has weak Internet/Cellular connections.

I have an Apple ID and trying to sign in for the 1st time on iTunes. When I do, I get the message: "This Apple ID has not been used with the iTunes Store. Please review your account information." When I do, it brings me to the same AppleID login window, and I get stuck in the same loop. I never get to the following screen to enter my account info. What's going on?? This is MADDENING!

The USB ports on my 30" Cinema HD display appear to not work. The monitor has not been used for almost a year, when I upgraded to a new Mac Book Pro and the 27" retina display. Now I need to move the computer back and forth between two locations using the two displays. The need for operating USB ports is essential. Any ideas. The display appears entirely normal. Am running OS X 10.9.

Any photos in your camera roll, not previously imported to your computer, you will lose. You should be regularly importing these photos, as the iPhone's camera roll is not designed as a storage device.
Had you been regularly syncing/backing up, you wouldn't lose anything. Now you know, don't backup your data, and you will eventually lose it all, guaranteed.
