  • Mac App Store Won't Sign Me Into My Apple Account

Today, I was going to download and install an app from the Mac App Store.  So, I opened the App Store, found the app, and clicked download and then install.  Of course, it popped up the box to sign into my Apple account.  I typed in my e-mail and password and click "sign in".  It began its little turning-circle "loading" icon on the little box (not the beach ball).  But nothing ever happened.  After 15 minutes, I forced quit App Store and tried again.  Again, same thing.  I did this a total of three times.  So, I decided not to touch it and just let it run its course.  Well, it's been at least four hours now, and no change.  Still "signing in", but nothing's happening.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Because I can't find anything anywhere about this on the discussions site.  Help!  Please!

Go to Settings > Store and sign-out.  Sign-in again using your Apple ID.  Of course this won't help if the apps were purchased using your friend's ID.

  • Mac App Store doesn't recognise my Apple ID as I had a hard drive replaced. Any ideas?

I've just tried to access Mac App Store but it doesn't recognise my Apple ID. It's fine when I signed in to this forum and on my purchases of iTunes on my Mac but not App Store. Also, can't download iCloud, it's showing MobileMe.

    Yes - that's correct.
I did attempt Apple’s Internet Recovery system, but that failed dramatically, as I couldn't get an Internet connection or get to the Apple logo when pressing Command and R keys at the startup.
This evening I visited the Apple Store and installed the OS via Apple's Network using a RJ45 cable.
    Thanks all for your responses.

  • Mac App Store Stuck - Cannot Sign In

    Hello,
    I've recently upgraded my Mac OS X from 10.6.2 to 10.6.6 .
Now the App Store is installed and shown in my dock , but I can't use it because it cannot connect to iTunes Store .
When I open the Mac App Store , "Connecting to iTunes Store ..." appears after a few seconds but it really does not do any other actions .
The main problem is that I can't even sign in with my Apple ID . When I click "Sign In" from the "Store" menu , the login form appears . After entering my Apple ID and password , the loading icon appears , and the applications sticks in this situation ( nothing happens after that ) .
Maybe I should notice a few things :
    * I'm sure that I have an active Internet Connection and there's no problem with it .
    * I'm not using FruitMenu and similar applications ( which makes problems for App Store and are already discussed in similar topics )
    * I'm not using any firewall or something similar that prevent app store from any connections .
    * I already tried opening iTunes manually ( as described before ) but nothing changed .
    * I tried signing in with other Apple IDs and the same error occurred .
    * I can use my Apple ID in iTunes Store , Apple Developer Section , ... without any errors .
    * I'm sure that I'm not making mistake in entering ID and Password .
    * I was monitoring my network activity and I found out that no request or packet is being sent by App Store application through Internet ( after the application sticks in that situations )
    * I quitted every other apps while doing this , but nothing changed .
    * I'm using iTunes 10.1.2 and App Store 1.0 (54)
Any ideas and helps are really appreciated ... ( I really need this )
    Thank You

    Do you repair permissions ever?
    Try downloading the Mac OS X 10.6.6 Combo and manually applying it;
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1349
I would repair permissions before and after the installation.
Also you could use iTunes to sign into your account and reset all notifications in your account info section. After opening the iTunes Store click your Apple ID in the upper right, enter your password and view account. At the bottom of the page you will find the reset button.

  • Mac App Store doesn't load the content

I made fresh installation of OS X 10.9.1 Server but thru VNC when open App Store it is gray (without content) and also can't check for updates.I tryed to flushcache of DNSs, delete iTunes cache, Safari cache, but still doesn't work.

This likely isn't related to DNS services, and your server should likely not be running DNS services locally other than the resolver; this assuming your server is configured on a public static IP address.
Cache cleaning and tools that claim do that could well corrupt the environment or the operating system.
Other options might possibly include a network firewall or proxy issue.
Check the logs with Console.app (Applications > Utilities), and see if there are any errors when you launch and test with the Mac App Store.
If you've not already tried it, reboot, and try the App Store again.
Then reboot into Safe mode, shutdown, reboot normally, and try again.
You may end up reinstalling OS X as a test, too.  This on the off chance that the add-ons corrupted the environment, or there's some low level disk error or corruption somewhere.

  • Mac App Store doesn't work.

Some of the apps that came with the computer, including Mac App Store and Calendar, has problems while launching and they quit themselves very soon after.
I cannot update software because as I said, the Mac App Store does not work.
Here is a part of the error report it gives when I open Calendar.:
    Exception Type:  EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP)
    Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000
    Application Specific Information:
    dyld: launch, loading dependent libraries
    Dyld Error Message:
      Symbol not found: _OBJC_CLASS_$_CalUICalendarInfoViewController
      Referenced from: /Applications/Calendar.app/Contents/MacOS/Calendar
      Expected in: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CalendarUI.framework/Versions/A/CalendarUI
    in /Applications/Calendar.app/Contents/MacOS/Calendar
It gives the same error on the app store as well.
Please help me if you can. Thank you.

  • Mac App Store Doesn't Recognize Apps

I have a Macbook Pro which is almost three years old.  Applications like iLife and iWorks were installed on the computer long before there was the Mac Ap Store.  These apps, and others on my computer, do not show up as Instaled in the App Store so I can't update them unless I use the old Software Update or the vendor's site.  I don't want to purchase the apps again but is there any way to "register" these apps so the app store knows they are on my computer?
    Thanks,
    David

I have iLife 11 that I purchased on disk that is installed, but the App store doesn't recognize any of the iLife apps as being installed.
Everytime I run GarageBand it states there is a new version, but then Software Update says everything is up to date once it is run.
I have GarageBand 6.0 (427.17) at the moment, and the newest right now is 6.0.5
I haven't been able to update it.
    Any thoughts on this issue?

  • Mac App Store doesn't show OS X updates

Since I upgraded to Mountain Lion in July, the Mac App Store has stopped showing updates for OS X. It shows normal app updates like Evernote but it didn't notify me for the 10.8.1, the 10.8.2 and the recent Supplemental Update. This happens even after days that the updates are released. I discovered that there were updates available from news sites.
I contacted Apple Support but I was quite rudely shut up. The guy at the phone told me that "this is normal" and that Apple "is not obliged" to issue a notification for all the system updates. I told him that all my Mac-owners friends could download the updates from the App Store but he told me that "they were lying" to me. I was so aghast at his response that I didn't started laughing in his face as he probably deserved. I will find a way to get back to him via an official complaint to his superiors, that's for sure.
Can anyone help me with the Mac App Store issue, anyway? Currently I'm forced to download the updates manually from Apple's site.
Thanks in advance for the support!

It's possible you have a problem with your system. I've had this same issue with Lion. Eventually, I bit the bullet and did a scratch reinstallation which seemed to fix things. But there may have been less invasive solutions I just did not think of or find. So you might start with the following:
Boot into Safe Mode then restart normally.
Download a utility such as Mountain Lion Cache Cleaner and use to clear out user, system, and font caches. Restart is immediately required.
    Reinstall OS X.
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Since Lion update, Mac App Store doesn't work properly

    Hi,
with the Lion update, my problems with the app store started.
It loads descriptions, sometimes a few pictures, sometimes nothing. and sometimes it even works fine.
But most times, the beach ball appears and the app store freezes forever.
otherwise the computer works fine, including the internet.
i repaired disk permissions, and freshly rebooted. i tried everything several times.
the itunes store works fine as well.
(regarding other posts: i don't use bootcamp, spotlight is active, about 10GB free HD space. there are no other speed problems)
i have a mac book air 2010, 4 GB ram.
    i'm grateful for any suggestions.
    cheers,

    Hi, thanks again.
I reinstalled Lion (using Recovery), but the problem remains. Even worse, Apple Software Update didn't work any more. As soon as I selected something for installation (e.g. iTunes), the progress bar would show but then it used to freeze forever (internet connection was fine). I tried several times after reboot.
The I tried a hard shutdown (holding the power key pressed), and after that, the app store was working (very slowly) and i could also install the software updates.
However, after a normal reboot, the app store didn't work any more.
I repeated this twice with the same result: the app store works after a hard shutdown, but not after a normal shutdown+reboot.
    Any suggestions?

  • Mac App Store doesn't load on new 27" iMac

I have a new 27" iMac purchased 1/31/13 loaded with Mountain Lion 10.8.2.  Everything came up fine when I got it home and I migrated data from my time machine backup from a Lion iMac.   When I tried to download software updates, the App Store came up with the message that that there was no Internet connection.  Mail and safari were connecting to the Internet just fine.  I called AppleCare and after some troubleshooting, they suggested it was an issue with my network or maybe I should reload Mountain Lion.  If that didn't work, I should go to the Apple Store and test it on their network.  Reloading Mountain Lion did nothing to fix the problem so I went to the Apple Store Genius Bar.  They told me they had had other complaints yesterday and they did not know what was causing the problem but they had tried several things with other customers by deleting cache etc.  They suggested I just wait and see if it gets fixed soon.  I am waiting but find it curious that no one else is reporting this problem on the net that I can find.  Has anyone else seen the problem or have a fix?  I will be calling AppleCare again tomorrow.

AppleCare couldn't find a problem.  Their best guess was it was my network.  It ended up being a problem in the Time Machine backup I was restoring from.  It was bringing something over from the old iMac that was causing the problem.  I ended up doing an erase, reload of Mountain Lion and all the other software, then just taking the data from the Time Machine backup, folder by folder.  It was tedious but it worked.  I can access the App Store with no problem.  Thanks for your offer of help.

  • Mac app store doesn't memorize partial download

Hi, this isn't a real discussion but i want a confirmation about the problem written in object.
This morning i became downloading a game, then i lost the connection and when it is returned i had to restart the download.
This thing is not a problem with little program, but with big files isn't the top!
I hope that with ML apple fixes this problem.
    Thank you everybody.

It may depend on your download speeds. Large files can, "time out" before the download completing.
Check your download speed here > Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test
And from the App Store menu bar top of your screen click Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads
The amount of time it takes to download your purchase will vary according to the file's size and your Internet connection speed.
Just as an example, check out the information for the iTunes Store >  iTunes Store: Download times will vary
It's not an Apple issue. Contact your ISP. Maybe you can upgrade your service.

  • The new Mac App Store and its relation to the "traditional" Apple SW Packag

Could someone please explain how is the relation between the "old" Mac SW (iLife packages for instance) and the new MacApp (iLife packages), are the SW packages identical but just running in another environment?
What about future SW updates?? Will the old SW packages fade out and be taken over by the MacApp SW??
    Yours gsf1

Well, one is downloaded, and it can be installed on multiple computers, and is the same price, and is well, nothing about the app itself is different
