Mac App Store Not Loading
Suddenly my Mac App Store has stopped loading. The icon in the dock and Applications folder no longer looks like the correct icon, instead it looks like two pieces of paper with a pencil, ruler and paint brush (the generic app icon, I guess). I tried re-installing the 10.6.8 Combo Update with the same problem.
The problem report says that it quit unexpectedly, but in fact it will not open at all. I'm concerned I'll miss out on the OS X Lion when it's released if I can't get onto the Mac Store!

Drag the App Store off the Dock so it goes "poof". Try launching the App Store from your Apple menu (top left in your screen). If that works, press and hold the new App Store icon in the Dock, click Options, Keep in Dock.

Help please.You're using 10.7 but Rosetta is no longer available on that build. So you can't get PowerPC emulation to run anymore. Sorry but that's been stripped out.
But I am puzzled as to why this would prevent Mac App Store from loading.

App Store Not Loading READ HERE!! DO NOT RESTORE YOUR DEVICE!!
Ok Applecare Senior Advisor Tad just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss. He said it should only be a 24 hour or so problem then everything should be up and running again. i have two new ipads and 2 iphone 4's and everythng works fine but my ipad (figures). They are actually going to be calling me tomorrow to follow up on the issue. I will let everyone know if I hear more!
<Edited By Host>And just so everyone knows this started for me late last night. I shut my device off this morning hoping it would be working this morning, but not luck obviously. So I kept researching all the forums, googling, and searching on twitter for solutions or possible solutions. I tried everything, hard reset, changing date, signing in/out, you name it I did it EXCEPT for a restoration. Now the first woman I spoke to from applecare this morning walked me through all these steps (even though I had already tried them). She told me to do a restore and start as a new device. Well before I had even spoken with her I read several places that people had already tried doing the restores and it didn't work so I wasn't going to listen to her and I didn't do it. So I called back applecare and finally got transfered to Tad and (sorry in advance Tad!!) I basically lied to him and told him that I DID DO a restore even though I had in fact didn't. So that's when he put me on hold and basically spilled his guts that it was the apple servers. So i asked if I had to restore my device again or anything and he said no and that it would take about 24 hours or so for the problem to be fixed and then he procedded to take down my number and said he would call me tomorrow to find out how I my device was doing. So keep posting to the forums folks!! They are listening, he said he had started to see a number of complaints coming in on this topic. And by the way this is my first time posting in the Apple forums, I hope I at least helped some of you out!!!

App Store not loading but everything else is...
The App Store on my iPad running iOS 6 is not loading... It doesn't crash it just sits there and loads. Everything else is working and I have already tried turning it off and back on. Any ideas?
Ok Applecare Senior (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss. They are actually going to be calling me tomorrow to follow up on the issue. I will let everyone know if I hear more!

I was at my friends house, everything was working fine. I went to my girlfriends house, everything was still working fine. Then once I got home, I got back out my 2010 MacBook Pro 15" to use and some pages on the internet looked a little odd. They were all in HTML format and wouldn't go back (Pages such as Skype and Apple's main page). I thought they were just down or being fixed up, but then I went to update my Mac under the App Store. I clicked the App store and a message popped up saying "App Store cannot verify a secure connection with the App Store." The options were "Cancel" or "Continue". I clicked "Continue" so I could update my Mac, but weird enough, the App Store started flickering (strobing; blinking) as seen in this video by someone with the same problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=De8aQZccRvA
I do not know what to do or why this is happening, so help would be VERY nice.Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. -
ITunes and App Store not loading properly
I wanted to browse on the iTunes Store on my iPad. It opened but the screen was blank. Nothing came up even when it had fully loaded. This was the same with the App Store too. I have tried to restart it and reset it but its still the same. Is there any solutions to this?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

If the Mac App Store is not launching in Mavericks, there are a few steps that can help isolate or resolve the issue.
First, try booting your computer into safe mode:

If the App Store is lauching normally in safe mode, this usually means OS X is fine, and the issue is caused by conflicts in your user account.

Lion download on mac app store not showing progress
Hi,
I kind need a help. I download the lion, but it's not showing any download progress bar on the Purchased tab. Even if i try to pause the download, I'm not able to resume it again. I try downloaded other apps and it works fine, I can see the download progress and able to pause-resume it.
Anybody experience the same with me ?

Your profile indicates you have v10.8.3 installed on your Mac.
If that is the case, click the Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click Software Update.
Restart your Mac after the updates are installed. The Mac App Store red badge icon should be available in the Dock for updates. Also for Notifications.
If you have problems using Software Update, a workaround is to install the OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.4 (Combo)
Make sure and restart your Mac after the combo is installed. -

Mac App Store is not recognizing previously installed Apple applications (Aperture 3; iLife'11; iWorks'09) as already purchased and installed. These were installed either via download from the Apple Store or from install discs. Prior to the 10.6.7 update, at least some of these applications were recognized as already installed by the Mac App Store. This is no longer the case.
However, it now says that the software that came with my Mac Book Air (iLife) and other software must be re-purchased!
No, it doesn't say you must re-purchase them. You can continue to use those apps as they are. There is no requirement for you to re-purchase them. If you wish to have lifetime updates, you can purchase the version on the app store which will give you that. However, you still have the same license to use those bundled apps the same as everyone else.
This is wrong, at least for the Mac Book Air 2010 and forward purchases because of Mr Jobs announcement back in October.

No! Apple must make good on this. Why should Apple give me iLife with an MBA and tell me that I'm getting an App Store and then deny those software to be excluded from being "installed"? This is wrong.
No, you are wrong. You received the standard bundled apps that were bundled with every other Mac. The App store only reports on apps actually purchased from the app store (apparently correctly, now). Your bundled apps were not purchased from the Mac App Store. They were bundled with your Mac.

MUST escalate this issue for computers/software purchased from that October announcement and understanding.
Why? You didn't buy a "Mac App Store" bundle with your Mac. As I explained above, you received applications bundled with your Mac. They still work. You have not been cheated in any way. -
Mac app store not in notification center
does anyone has this where the mac app store isn't in the notification center. I have checked and i see others getting notification banners and upadates in the notification center about software updates from the mac app store.
mine is a mid 2010 macbook pro 15" i downloaded mountain lion a month ago.

JonI thing this is a bug of Mac OS. Normally all apps sending notifications to the notification center should be listed under System Preferences -> Notifications. I wonder how apple forgot to put its own app under the list.
Do not be confused. Disabling updates is different than getting notifications about the updates.
I like to get updates for all my apps automatically but sinse I use my Macbook for work, I find it very disturbing to interupt what I do just to click "ok" to the notification because an app was updated. It is enough for me to know that all my apps are up to date.
I hope to see this fixed soon. -
Mac App Store not showing Updates or Purchases
After upgrading my Mac OS to Yosemite, my App Store isn't showing anything under the "Updates" tab (It did some automatic updates in the background, so the number of pending updates dropped from 13 to 2).
Although I have already signed in to Mac App Store, it says:"You must sign in to view your purchases" under the "Purchases" tab. "Sign in" is a clickable link but when I click it nothing happens.I'm having the exact same problem.
I can sign in via the menu bar-store-sign in, but it doesn't change anything.
In the bottom right corner of the updates page there's a US flag icon showing, indicating I'm in the wrong store. Unable to change to Norwegian.

You have system sounds muted. The button just above the volume control on the upper right hand side of your iPad can mute system sounds, OR it can lock screen orientation. Move it up to see what you've got it set as (you'll see a box in the middle of the screen that tells you). If you have lock screen orientation selected, double tap hour home button to bring up the task bar (most recently used apps). With your finger, swipe the task bar apps all the way to right, revealing a mute icon on the far left side. Touch it and you'll turn system sounds back on.

Mac app store not connecting to Itunes
I am trying to purchase Keynotes from Mac App Store. I am running 10.6.8 from a Mac Book Pro that is about 3 years old. All of my updates are done. I click on App store and it comes up and says "Connecting to Itunes" and it stay there. When I try to click store, sign in, I put in my apple ID and password and it doesn't do anything. I am needing Keynotes for a presentation coming up soon so pleassssssseeeee help! I've tried to contact Apple Techincal Support and they want me to pay $20 for a phone call. I guess I will if I have to, but I really don't want to. The Mac App store has never worked since I updated to 10.6.8, but I never needed it so I didn't worry about it. HELP PLEASE!
