Mac app store problems

I have a MacBook pro with Mac OS X 10.6.7. My mac app store will not start up. It opens, but all I get is the " One moment please, loading" and this will go on for ever. I have re-installed the 10.6.7 combo and restarted my mac, but still the same problem

Try repairing permissions.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. *When it's finished from the Menu Bar, *Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.* If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done.

  • Mac App Store problem - I have an update for an app that do not exist in my Mac

Hi, I have an update for an app that I never didn't bought before in my Mac App Store.
Thats happen before more than a year, I tried everything including updating the app (got an error) and format the Mac but the update for this app didn't remove.
the problem is maybe in my Apple account so I need your help, is there any way to remove this update?

You may have installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store could prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app could be "Final Cut Pro." Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
              File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
              Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
              Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
              Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
    3. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
    4. At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
    5. Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.

  • Mac App Store problem download

    Hi everyone!
I've got a MacBook Pro with the last version of OS X Lion, but I can't download apps from the Mac App Store for some kind of error.. When I start any type of download the status bar starts but immediately the program notice me that is impossible to download or start the app.. So now I can't download or even update every apps on my mac, what could be the problem?
    thanx in advance

    -  Temporarily disable anti virus software if installed.
    -  Apps such as Little Snitch, Net Nanny, and Hands Off can prevent apps from downloading including Mountain Lion.
    -  Third party download managers are not compatible with the App Store.
If nothing above applies, install the OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo)
That will reinstall the App Store for you as well as any necessary system files. It's ok to do this even though v10.7.5 is already installed.
Retart your Mac after the combo is installed.
    Then try the App Store.

  • Mac App Store problems (some software won't install)

Recently, I've been having problems with updates being installed after they were downloaded. Oddly enough, all the updates I am having problems come from Apple. the first was the Epson Printer driver update that came out about a month ago. It downloaded fine, but after the download, the software window says the software is installing, but, for days on end, the progress bar shows it stuck at the beginning of the installation process. Now, I am having the same prolem with the Raw Camera update. Everythng else that needs updating works fine, including the Mavericks.2 update, but these programs refuse to install.
    Early 2011 15 " MBP (2 GHz i7, 4 Gig RAM) running OSX.9.2.
Oddly enough, I have a mid-2010 iMac (27", 3.6 GHz i5, 12 Gig RAM) running 10.8.5, and both programs updated perfectly with no problems. Anyone have any ideas of what is going wrong, and what I can do to fix it?
    Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the response, but I don't see how to get to downloads from the Apple support site. Selecting "Software Update" from the Apple menu takes me to the App Store. Going to the Support page, I don't see any way of downloading files. It seems that has been all moved to the Mac App Store now. If there is a way to download files from the Apple Support Site, I would certainly like to know how to do it, as I can't figure out how.
    Thank you in advance.

  • Mac App Store problems, OS X Lion

I've been trying to download a game (GTA: San Andreas) from the Mac App Store all day today. My MacBook is a mid 2009 model, with a 2.13GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB of RAM, and a 500GB hard disk, with 140GB free. My home broadband connection is 50MB. I bought the game this morning, the store accepted my payment, and the download started immediately. Since then I've found myself in App Store ****. Every so often the download stops. The time remaining increases up to ridiculous heights (129 days remaining), and then drops to "less than one minute remaining", where it gets stuck forever. The game is 4.19GB in size, so I have more than enough hard disk space remaining to download it, but whatever happens, the download stalls, and never starts again.
    So far, I've tried:
Connecting the computer to wired Ethernet
    Restarting the computer
Checking if I had enough free space, and checking that my hard disk passed a SMART test using SMART Utility
Removing the game from Launchpad (by holding Option and clicking the 'x' that appears, to delete the already half downloaded data
Throwing away the App Store .plist files
Enabling the App Store debug menu, and using it to navigate to the temporary downloads folder, and throwing away the half downloaded data, and all the plists found in there
Clearing cookies and cache within App Store.app
Resetting App Store.app using the Debug menu
I know my network connection is ok, as I've been downloading files bigger than this in Safari and Chrome today, and they have all completed successfully. I even tried bringing my MacBook to someone else's house, and attempting the download there, but it failed again, exactly as described as above. Does anyone else have problems like this, and if so, is there a solution?
    Thanks in advance,
    Padgeman

  • Can't update to Lion: Serious Mac App Store problem

I tried twice to update my OS (10.6.8) to Lion via the Mac App Store. Both times I got a failure message shortly before I had downloaded the 3,74 GB, saying the app can't be downloaded and that I have to restart the downloading (original message in German: "Die App kann nicht geladen werden. Das Laden des gewünschten Programms ist fehlgeschlagen. Bitte versuchen sie es erneut").

You must sign in to the App Store with the Apple ID you used to install the app. If you don't recognize the ID, see below.
You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.

  • Mac app store problem: some applications that are not installed are seen as installed

After configuring the new imac, I open the mac app store, and although I have not installed any application of previously purchased, I see them as installed. I can not download them again.
I tried to delete one from the old imac, but nothing changes.
    Tips?

Andrea, it is still difficoult for me to understand.
In your first post you wrote "After configuring the new iMac", later you write about a backup disc, an old Mac etc...
Configuring the new iMac: I imagine you got it with an OS installed and you imported your stuff from the old Mac with Setup Assistan (Assistente Installazione)  or Migration Assistant or from a Time Machine backup. The difference between Setup and Migration assitant is explained here  https://discussions.apple.com/message/19130045#19130045
Or did you simply copied your Apps and data from one mac to the other ?
Sorry if this question may be seen stupid or offending: I only try to understand.
At the end of the Migration you should have disconnected the external disc (or the other Mac in Target mode). Why then you opened the AppStore ?  I imagine to download again some Apps which were not transfered by the Migration process. But since you write you opened the AppStore AFTER the configuring I assume you did it from the new iMac booted from its own disc with other drives disconnected.  Or do you have a copy of the old system on the same disc ?
About the question of "open with" you write that sometimes the files ask to be opened with Apps in the other disc instead with the same App on the boot disc.  You have to disconnect the external discs and again use the Open with command but select "Other", find the correct App and chack the box "Open always with this App" (Apri sempre con questa applicazione".
If you have some Apps not yet migrated from the old system to the new one I do not understand why, because Migration assistant should transfer all Apps (Apple and third party).  Should it be possible to do a second Migration ?

  • Mac App store problem after Mavericks install

I have installed Mavericks, 3 times now, on my MacBook Air. There have been a few hicups but the only one I have been unable to fix is the App Store. It will open, accept my user name and perform updates however it will not allow me to view or download new Apps. If I create a new user that user has full functionality. So the Maverick install has obviously done something to my Mac Store user settings. Has anyone any idea how I fix it?
    Thanks

    Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box markedAllow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use  another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take a few minutes to run, or perhaps longer if you have literally millions of files in your home folder. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Problem with Resuming and Installing Apps Purchased using Mac App Store

Recently I have been trying to download and install AeroFly FS which I purchased from Mac App Store (17GB) and with my internet connection it take some 4-5 days to download that.
    I have 2 problems.
    1) Resume download don't work if I happen to reboot my macbook pro for some reason after pausing the download before the reboot. When I reboot and try resuming the download... the resume button changes to install, and the download start afresh, I technically lost all my previous downloaded data.
    2) The app was 17GB ( I guess thats the installer), and I had some 25GB left after the download completed. But it gave an error saying while installing that not much disk space. So I moved/deleted many item on my drive and got the disk space to some 37GB Free. But it was still giving the same error of not much disk space.
So, I thought the new avaialable diskspace was not accounted for. So, I rebooted the macbook. And to my agony, I found the roboot wiped out the 17GB installer I managed to download from Mac App Store.
So, far i have wasted almost more than a week trying to download and install this app. Now, I am re-downloading it for the third time.
Any Help will be highly appreciated.
Any Tips on how I can move the installer once it sdownloaded to my external HDD, and where can i find this installer which App store downloads?
    Regards,
    Sapam

    Hi ...
37GB of free space is not enough.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 20% free disk space.

I am facing the problem on downloading apps from Mac App Store, when I try to install the application from App store, I am getting an error message "Status_Code_Error" while click on "Login"

    Same problem here in Brazil.
It seems to be a problem with logging in App Store in the Mac (Yosemite 10.10.2).
When I tried the very same userid and password I was able to login in to use my iCloud account from the same computer and also from my iPhone.

  • Problem with serial number, when I bought Keynote on Mac App Store

    Hi,
I bought yesterday Keynote and Numbers yesterday in online Mac App Store, not retail. I had had trial version, but over time. I bought this software, system this software installed. But when I run this software, it want serial number or buy ... where is problem?
    Thank you for help
    Ondrej

You don't need a serial number. The problem you're having is due to having the iWork trial installed. You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user.
Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip.
