Mac app store wont download

I can purchase from the Mac App Store just fine, but downloading doesn't seem to happen. This is also true of my 'already purchased' apps. I click 'Instal', I get the spinning wheel by the back buttons in the upper left, and then nothing.
I have tried deleting the .plist and the caches, and it hasn't done anything.
I've seen this question asked and 'solved', but  none of the work-arounds or fixes seem to work.  Outside of a fresh install, can anyone help? Thank you for your time!

  • Mac app store wont download anything

I recently tried to download an app, and when I hit the button get it would switch to install app.
When I click on install app then nothing happens it just stays the same.
I also tried downloading the OS X Yosemite but the same thing happened!
I tried seeing if there was maybe a new version of the app store that i needed to download but I dont think so.
I also tried quit the app store and turning it on again and also turning my computer off and on again to see if that helped but it didn't.

  • Is there a way to use Automator or Applescript to launch the Mac App Store and download updates automatically?

As the subject indicates, I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to use AppleScript or Automator to launch the Mac App Store and download any available updates on a set schedule.

I would advise against this. Updates sometimes reduce functionality or break programs.  I would never get an update with working software unless there is a specific problem you are trying to solve.
I have read many desperate posts from people trying to go back to earlier versions for various reasons. This is easy to do with disk-based software,  but with downloaded software, going backward can be more difficult.

  • Mac app store wont load, error "powerpc Apps not supported"

mac app store wont load, error "powerpc Apps not supported"
Im running a 2008 intel i mac with ios 10.7.5 all updates done. Have previously used the store ok.
    Help please.

You're using 10.7 but Rosetta is no longer available on that build. So you can't get PowerPC emulation to run anymore. Sorry but that's been stripped out.
But I am puzzled as to why this would prevent Mac App Store from loading.
Could you show us a screenshot of this error, and your screen in its entirey here? Thanks.

  • Mac App Store problem download

    Hi everyone!
I've got a MacBook Pro with the last version of OS X Lion, but I can't download apps from the Mac App Store for some kind of error.. When I start any type of download the status bar starts but immediately the program notice me that is impossible to download or start the app.. So now I can't download or even update every apps on my mac, what could be the problem?
    thanx in advance

    -  Temporarily disable anti virus software if installed.
    -  Apps such as Little Snitch, Net Nanny, and Hands Off can prevent apps from downloading including Mountain Lion.
    -  Third party download managers are not compatible with the App Store.
If nothing above applies, install the OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo)
That will reinstall the App Store for you as well as any necessary system files. It's ok to do this even though v10.7.5 is already installed.
Retart your Mac after the combo is installed.
    Then try the App Store.

  • App store wont download anything

Hello, I have been trying for 3 days now to resolve this issue and am still no nearer to a solution.
I have just recently become the owner of a Mackbook Pro 3.1 which came installed with leopard 10.5 .
I then purchased snow leopard and installed from disc and upgraded to 10.6.8.
I then wanted to upgrade to Yosemite but the app store will not let me.
It seems I cannot install any app from there at all.
I click on the grey button "get" which then turns into a green "install app" button but clicking it does absolutely nothing.
I have tried free and paid apps and neither of them do anything when I click the button to download them.
Ive tried countless different ways and still nothing seems to happen.
If anyone can help here it would be very greatly appreciated.
    Thankyou

  • HT202159 Why can't I download anything from the  Mac App Store?

I cannot update apps, or download  Mountain Lion. It spent time downloading, supposedly, then after it was finished it said it was unable to do so. Tried it three times, same result.
    Never experienced this before.

I need to clarify the problem:
    software update returns:
The update could not be verified. It may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs.
The Mac App Store update, download new, or resume returns:
The application you tried to download could not be downloaded. Check your internet connection and try again.

  • The apps on mac apps store not resumable download

I have bought hitman,,,, it take 20 GB of the apps,,,, i downloaded 4, 5 to 7 GB then i stop it,,, next time i open mac apps store, why download start from the first?

You have system sounds muted.  The button just above the volume control on the upper right hand side of your iPad can mute system sounds, OR it can lock screen orientation.  Move it up to see what you've got it set as (you'll see a box in the middle of the screen that tells you). If you have lock screen orientation selected, double tap hour home button to bring up the task bar (most recently used apps).  With your finger, swipe the task bar apps all the way to right, revealing a mute icon on the far left side.  Touch it and you'll turn system sounds back on.

  • Mac App Store download scheduler?

i am recieving a 5k iMac for Christmas this year, I have a question about the Mac app store.  I have satellite Internet and my unlimited period is from 3am-8am.  Is there a way to have the Mac app store start downloads at 3am so I wouldnt use all the daytime data up?  If the App Store doesn't have that feature, is there a third party program that could make it possible to download things from the Mac aop store during those times?  Thanks.

I'll such puppy built into the Mac App Store app.
You might look into the Automator app that comes free on the Mac, perhaps you can create a workflow that will accomplish what you wish to do.

  • New Printer Drivers won't load in Mac App Store

    Hi!
I've recently update my mid-2014 rMBP to the Final release of Yosemite, up from the Yosemite Public Beta 6. I've been able, during the beta phase to add my home printer (an HP OfficeJet 4500) after (or before?) the Mac App Store had downloaded the required HP drivers (3.3.1).
Now, however, I'm trying to add an HP LaserJet 1200 series (whose drivers are in the official list). I've tried several times, asked the MAS to check for new updates a thousand times but still it won't download any new printer drivers.
When adding the printer and selecting the driver from the list of drivers bundled with OS X, I could see various printers (with a large number of HP printers who use the aforementioned 3.0 drivers which have been downloaded already), but no HP LaserJet 1200. I don't have them because they're not the same as the 3.0 ones. On my sister's 2010 MBP, which didn't go through the beta testing phase, I found what seems to be all the drivers from the list (at least there was the one for the 1200 Series).
So my question is, how do I somehow "trigger" the MAS to download the required drivers (19.8) ? Is anyone else having troubles installing printer drivers?

Thank you for your quick reply! I've deleted the hp folder (and moved the PPD relating to the printer which is already installed, the OfficeJet, just to see if it would help) and had the MAS check for new updates. No success yet, though.
However there's a slight misunderstanding regarding which drivers I'm trying to install : I already have the 3.3.1 drivers (for the OfficeJet) but the drivers which won't download are the 19.8 for the LaserJet printer. are these separately downloadable too?

  • I by mistake deleted my Mac App store. How to get it back?

I deleted my Mac App store by mistake. How to get it bak on os x 10.6.8? I tried software update but it did not work.
Also, how to update it to latest version of os x

From where did you delete it - the Dock or the Applications folder? If the former then locate the application in the Applications folder and drag the icon to the Dock. If the latter, download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99.
If you sign into the App Store and try to purchase Mountain Lion but the App Store says your computer is not compatible then you may still be able to upgrade to Lion per the following information.
    A. Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.
    B. Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • Can use the Mac App Store behind a HTTP/1.1 proxy

We have an HTTP/1.1 proxy at work, and when doing a download from the Mac Apps Store, the downloaded data comes through as "Transfer-Encoding: chunked".
According to the HTTP 1.1 specification (the request is made as HTTP/1.1), the client MUST be able to decode the chunked transfer encoding (see the end of section 3.6.1 in rfc2616).
Am I missing something? Or is there a way to make the Mac App Store use HTTP/1.0, or support the standard?
    Thanks.

No. Only apps bought through the MAS can be updated by the MAS.

  • Trying to install new version of software from the Mac App Store

My iMac is running OS X 10.6.8
I purchase a copy of Swift Publisher 3.0.1 back in June of 2012.
I paid $19.99 U.S.D for this upgrade, then.
I just went to the Mac App Store to download a more recent version ( ver 3.5.5).
It is not coming up in the Mac App Store as an Update and appears as if I will pay another $19.99.
Is this what will happen? There is no indication on BeLight's web page about any update charges to any 3.x.x version of Swift Publiser,
When I click the buy button, it looks as though I am going to be charged for this, again. Nothing appears as an indication that this is just an update.
    WHat will happen?

    I solved it.
I, originally, download and installed the software under the Mac App Store when I was using OS X Mavericks.
I was getting all sorts of error messages from the Mac App Store under Snow Leopard.
I simply copied that version to my working OS X Snow Leopard disc and it is working fine, now.
Thank goodness for having multiple backups on three drives!
Whoo! Spent a good chunk of the day trying to figure this one out!

  • Mac App Store sign-in problem

I allowed Mac App Store to download and auto-install OS X 9 Mavericks. Now when I try to download the installer to use on a backup external hard drive partition, I'm required to 'sign-in'.  When the "Sign in to download from the App Store" dropdown appears, it already has someone's email address in it, greyed out.  I can't click to put the insertion point into that box, so I can't log in.  The email address pre-positioned in it is "[email protected]".  Have I somehow been hacked during the install?

Change your Sys Prefs and it will open without issue!
