Mac Blackberry Sync - PocketMac vs. Missing Sync

I am running a new Imac with 10.5.5 on it.  Had pocketmac running on my G5 fine but after loading it on the new Imac it would crash right after starting.  Tried many things and could not get it to work including the newest pocketmac upgrade fix.  Decided to download and purchase Missing Sync which is working perfectly.  Syncs everything and worked well,  My only questions - is there an application downloader for the mac?  I have a couple of games that I want to install on my BB that need anapplication downloader and I cannot seem to do this.  Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Both applications work well. Try PocketMac first and if it doesn't live up to your needs, move to Missing Sync.

  • PocketMAC or Missing Sync--Which one do I Choose?

I'm looking for software to synchronize contacts, events, appointments, notes, tasks, etc., between my Blackberry Curve (8330 Series) and my iMac (MAC OS X 10.5.5).  In response to a previous posting where I asked for recommendations on "PocketMAC" and "Missing Sync," it was suggested that I pose my question in the Blackberry for MAC forum.  So, that's what I'm doing with this posting.  In addition, I did review the discussion on PocketMAC and it does give me some concern.  I would appreciate both good and bad comments you might have on either software package.
    Regards - rockberry

Try using missing sync, is faster, and you dont have any problem, but........., its not free.

  • PocketMac vs Missing Sync

    hi,
i have a windows mobile pda which i'd like to sync with my mac... i see only two players in this field... pocketmac and missing sync (from www.markspace.com)which one would you guys/gals recommend?
    i'd really appreciate your feedbacks...
    thanks,
    zurc

I've only used Missing Sync and it works very well. Their new verion is a universal app. I haven't personally used PocketMac, but they have a very spotty reputation and their quality doesn't appear to be great.

  • Address Book / PocketMac / BlackBerry syncing issue

    Hi folks:
Wonder if anyone's expertise could help illuminate what's going on with my setup. I had a BlackBerry synced with Outlook on my old PC, which I recently replaced with a new MacBook. I was able to use PocketMac to easily sync my BlackBerry with Address Book and Mail on the new MacBook- or so I thought.
Turns out there are some fields included with contacts in my BlackBerry that do not appear with the corresponding contact entry in Address Book. For instance, a given contact will have four or five phone numbers listed on the BlackBerry, with only two or three on the Address Book. I thought that by syncing the two devices I would get an exact match for the data on each one. Was I wrong?
Any ideas? Any setting I can change, or workarounds I can use to make the information complete on both devices?
    Thanks!
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   PocketMac/BlackBerry

When you go through the sync process, do you see any records that the sync recognizes and says it will move to your Mac?
    What happens during the sync?

  • Mac 1 dotMac Mac 2 Treo 650 (via Missing Sync) Mac 1

Is anybody syncing Address Book & iCal successfully between:
Mac 1 dotMac Mac 2 Treo 650 (via Missing Sync) Mac 1
I need reliable syncing in all directions for a number of users.
    Thanks,
    b.
    PS. Apologies for x-posting

I am going to assume for a moment that you actually mean…
Mac 1 .Mac Mac 2 and
Mac 1 Treo 650 via the Missing Sync for Palm OS
If you meant instead that your Treo serves as a means of synchronizing data on both Macintosh machines, you are headed for a data disaster. A Palm device should not be used as an intermediate 'storage' device to synchronize a pair of Macintosh computers.
The weakest link is .Mac, frankly, for a number of reasons, including availability and reliability. You might want to consider using MySync instead, which was just acquired from MildMannered Industries by Mark/Space. More information about that application is available here:
    http://www.mildmanneredindustries.com/mysync
Bonus: future compatibility is virtually guaranteed between The Missing Sync for Palm OS and MySync by this acquisition.
I do precisely what I outlined above—using .Mac Sync, but with a USB-attached Treo 600—with no issues whatsoever.

  • Will a Palm Centro or Blackberry sync with iCal?

Will a Palm Centro or Blackberry sync with iCal?

    Greetings,
Yes on both but you would need software to do the sync for you.
If you are running Mac OS X 10.6.x, Palm is no longer updating their sync software (http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/na/centro/centro/unlocked/solutions/article/332 19_en.html).  You would need a sync solution like: http://www.markspace.com/
Blackberry has their own sync software which you can get from them.
    Cheers!

Anyone know how to sync all your folders and contacts from hotmail to Mac Mail? I have just recently switched from the world of Windows to MacBook Pro - and Microsoft Outlook sync's all folders and contacts without any problem! Please help!! Thanks
Well Microsoft just allows POP3 access so syncing Hotmail across all devices is going to be tricky.S To add Hotmail this blog. Just after you create the the account in the Mail's Preferences, Accounts,Advanced tab Make sure you check make the box to leave messages on the server For some time So other devices can get those emails in their Inbox.
Then consider getting the book Switching to the Mac: The Missing Manual, Snow Leopard Edition. It will explain the Mac to a switcher and make your transition a lot cleaner.

  • Blackberry Sync Problems

    Help!!
Here is my situation: Apple iMac OSX5.8, Entourage in Microsoft Office 2008, BlackBerry Sync Manager.
Problem: When I try to sync with my Blackberry, whole contacts are lost on my Entourage/Address Book contact list. Just disappeared!
They are still on my Blackberry - so what happened to the sync?
When I try to set Sync Preferences on my mac, it wants a Mobile Me account number. Is there no way to Sync without paying for a Mobile Me account??? (I have no cash for this at all, but still have the need to sync).
    Help!!!!!

Syncing a Blackberry has nothing to do with iSync or MobileMe so you'd be better off asking in the support forums for the Blackberry software you're using.

My ipod nano 4th generation was set up/registered using my mac computer. Unfortunately it was plugged into a pc and all my files, (song, pics, etc) were erased. When I plugged my ipod into my mac to sync it again, it wouldn't even appear in the source list. I can't even click on it to restore it. It's simply not there. Any ideas on how I can get it to appear in my source list and sync it again using my mac? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  • How can I get my iTunes on my Windows machine and my Mac in Sync

I use both a Window's machine and a Mac. I first had my iPhone4 in sync with my iTunes on my Window's machine. Now I want to also have the iTunes on my Mac in sync with what is on my Window's machine, but when I plug in my iPhone none of the apps that are on my Window's machine are there.
And when I click sync apps on my Mac it warns that all the existing apps and their data will be replaced with apps from this iTunes library. How do I get them to be the same?

    Hi
did you try home sharing in iTunes? Turn it on on both machines and enter your Apple Account Information. This schould do the job.

  • Since update of my MAC my Notes no longer appear on my Mac but are still available through iCloud on my iPhone and iPad. How do I get my MAC to sync with the other devices as e'thing else has synced on my MAC through iCloud.

Since update of my Mac Book Pro my previously drafted Notes no longer appear on my Mac but are still available through iCloud on my iPhone and iPad. How do I get my Mac to sync with the other devices as e'thing else has synced on my MAC through iCloud. Also since the update Notes no longer appear as a folder in "Mail" but are now a distinct programme-is there any way of returning Notes to the Mail programme?

Thanks, but I've been on the phone with AppleCare US (where I am and live) and AppleCare UK. They continue bouncing me back and forth without helping resolve the problem.
Perhaps someones knows how to further escalate the issue at Apple?

  • 2 MACs - Can I use .mac to sync POP emails from MAIL when traveling

I use Yahoo Business (POP) email with the MAC MAIL software. I use a PowerBook G4 at home and just got a new iBook G4 for travel. I want to set up the travel computer and MAIL to receive and send mail while on the road. 2 Questions:
    1) In a perfect world: I want to sync the emails (both sent and received) I worked with on the road with my home computer so I don't have to re-do the work I just did on the road. Can I use .mac to sync my mailbox folders before downloading the messages at home or will this corrupt the library file and make me rebuild my folders every time? I know I can set up the MAIL account to leave the received message on the server for my home computer to download, but this causes a lot more work!
    2) If (1) is not possible, how can I capture the files I sent on the road to my home computer SENT folder? I save all sent messages at home.

Via the .Mac website, you can have .Mac check the POP account's incoming mail server to download received messages from the POP account to your .Mac account's Inbox mailbox.
In the interim, send a change of email address to all contacts providing your .Mac email address and start sending messages with your .Mac account.
When creating a .Mac account in Mail - Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk messages are stored on the server by default along with received messages. If you want to keep all these mailboxes/messages synchronized with Mail on both Macs, make sure these settings for the account are the same with Mail on both Macs.

how can i get my iMessage on my mac to sync with the texts i get on my iPhone?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Are you aware it only syncs iMessages. Also once enabled only new messages will sync, try messaging the user from the Mac and see if that gets things going for you.
