Mac book air doesn't start

Hi
For 1 week now, my computer stops when it's in standby and can't start when I push on power.  It doesn't start for like 2 days and rework. and again and again...
The battery indicator is lighting when I plug the charger. Is that the motherboard?
I live in frech guiana and there is no apple store here...
Thank you for your help

It sounds like you destroyed your boot partition and the recovery partition.  Depending on it's age, your MacBook Air might be able to do a net boot.  Plug and ethernet connection into it and attempt to boot.  If it has the right firmware, it will find a net boot configuration on the net and boot that.  Then it will give you a Recovery Partition like display and allow you to reinstall the OS X version that came with it.... assuming that it was Lion or ML.  If your computer came with Snow Leopard, then even the net boot won't work.
At that point you need a bootable USB Key, or an external DVD drive AND a Snow Leopard installation DVD.
An Apple Store, if there is one nearby, MAY be able to get you going again.  However, whatever is on the SSD now will be toast too.

  • My mac book air doesn't always charge

my mac book air doesn't always charge. The charger doesn't always light up. Please advise.

unlikely your charger is bad, rather it sounds as if your IO BOARD may be defective, perform a SMC reset and re-verify same.
    SMC reset
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
If same contact Apple for full in shop diagnostic and possible parts replacement.

  • Why my Mac book air doesn't charge straight away

Hi there, Are any people know why is my Mac book air doesn't charge straight away? Thanks!

    Can you clarify that?
I mean, I think it quite normal for the computer to take a second or two before charging begins. It could be the SMC making a determination whether charging is necessary, such that overcharging or "topping off" does not occur.
You should also know that if your battery is already at 95% or higher when you connect the charging adapter, the battery will not charge further. The battery must dip below 95%, for it to begin. This is to prevent "topping off", to minimize cycling, which is detrimental to battery longevity.

I would also suggest to try starting your computer in Safe Mode which is done by holding the shift key right after you hear the MacBook's start up chime. If the computer is able to start up successfully in Safe Mode then the culprit could be something related to software.
    Hope this helps.

  • My mac book air doesn't have iPhoto nor imovies

hi my mac book doesn't have iphoto nor imovies

    reinstall from the original source
    Could be
1 - the restore disks that came with the computer - if it came with CDs and you do not know where they are then contact Apple to see if they can be replaced
    or
2 - the iLife DVD that you purchased
    or
3 - the app store - log in under the Apple id used to purchase the software or to set up the computer - look under purchases - you might have to unhide or accept the Application first

  • I want to install a hp laserjet pro cp1525nw with ox mountain lion . I dowload the drivers in the apple site but when i try to add a printer , my mac book air do not start the research. nothing happen . Can you help me?

I want to install a printer hp laser pro cp1525nw on my macbook air with mountain lion 10.8.2 . I download the drivers from the apple site and install them . I resart the macbook . I just can not add a new printer . the computer dos not start a research
    Can you help me?

hi . I had the simalar  problems of my HP b209a-m printer not being seen on my wireless network> I could not add the printer and could not get the printer to join my network,  I found this post at HP discussion and it worked!
Each printer has different options/settings but it seems like the general idea should work ok if you can reset printer back to factory settings and find Printer IP Adress.
    This is for HP printers
    1. On the printer navigate to the Wireless or Network menu.
    2. Select Restore Defaults.
    3. On your computer look for a wireless network named 'hpsetup' and connect to it.
    4. Print a Wireless Network Test from the front of the printer to see its IP address. (on my b209a-m Printer the IP info was found by pressing the Wireless Icon)
    5. Type the IP address into the address bar of a web browser to see the printer's internal settings.
    6. Click on the Network tab and look for the Wireless Setup Wizard and run it.
    7. The Passphrase is the password you use on your wireless connection.
    8. Now change the network name on your computer back to your wireless network.
The printer will now be connected to your network.  With your the computer backyour wireless network network, you can re-add the printer from System Preferences.
Hope this works--- it did for me.

  • HT1338 my mac book air has just started beach balling constantly WHY

I purchased a new 13" Macbook Air with max everything last August.  Love it although have had some issues and needed a new hard drive after it just continually crashed in around October.  Have now been finding that it beachballs.  I have no idea what has brought this on.  I have made sure updates all installed, cleared safari cache and updated all apps.  I am at a loss.  It is so frustrating.  Cannot open multiple pages on Safari - once you open the 2nd page it just slows down and continually has the ball there and cannot do anything but wait.  Am really over it.  Any ideas?  By the way I am NOT an amazing computer nerd and so need everything spelled out for me!!  Please help!

Top right of your screen is Spotlight (looks like a magnifying glass). Click on it and type
    Activity Monitor
and press 'return'. You'll get something that looks like this:
Choose 'All Processes' from the dropdown menu on the right hand side of the window, then do two things: click on the tab that says %CPU, twice if necessary, so that the arrow is pointing down as in the screenshot. Secondly, click on 'System Memory' in the tabs near the bottom of the window.
OK, what do you see? Answer these questions:
    1. Is there something near the top of that list of processes that is using 40% CPU or more?
If so, what is it? If it's not a process you've started (like copying a DVD or something) then click on it, and choose the red 'Quit' button. You may need to choose Force Quit and enter a password. After doing that, wait a few seconds, does the process reappare in the window, just like before or stay gone?
    2. Is that little pie chart mostly green, as in my shot, or mostly red, blue or yellow?

  • Mac book air won't start up it has a flashing folder with questions mark. How do I fix it?

    Please help!!!

Hold the option key down while booting the machine (wired keyboard) and a list of bootable options appears.
Select OS X and click the arrow, then set the Startup Disk again in System Preferences.  Hopefully this will fix the issue and no further problems.
If no bootable options appears, then your internal boot drive could be dead.
If you have 10.7 or later and doing the above shows only RecoveryHD, then your Macintosh HD partition is corrupted.
