Mac Book and LCD Projector

Hi,
When ever I connect my Mac Book to LCD projector, the display resolution on Mac Book automatically changed to a lower resolution, which resulting in a not so nice (blur) display both on Mac Book and Screen. I have tried on few LCD projectors older and new, but all of them gave me the same problem.
Any idea or suggestion are appreciated.
Thank you

you can change the resolution back.. (in displays preferences)
the desktop always looks blurry for some reason i get that on my plasma and the girlfriends lcd..
i dont know why but when i play movies they are clear?? but for general using the comp i find it blurry as well.
i would love to have a crisp pic after all the tvs are high deff..

You can get the screen replaced on a White or Black non-unibody MacBook for $139 by mail. http://www.ebay.com/itm/13-APPLE-MacBook-LCD-Screen-Repair-Replacement-Service-/ 270597769033?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f00e24749

  • How can I remove iCloud from my Mac Book and iPad and Mac Book Air and then just reload back on the MB Air and iPad only?

How can I remove iCloud from my Mac Book and iPad and Mac Book Air and then just reload back on the MB Air and iPad only, which have a different user with a separate Apple ID?

You have quite muddied up the waters, I'm afraid. Assuming you now have a single GUID partition formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled, you should try reinstalling Lion:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • What is the difference between a mac-book, and an I-pad?

What is the difference  between a mac-book and an I-pad?

The Macbook is a computer (running Mac OS X), an iPad is a tablet (running iOS). What are thinking of using it for ? The Mac is more powerful than iPad, so if you need processing power then that will be better suited for your needs. If you will mainly be using it for media (films, music), internet browsing, emails, ebooks, then an iPad would be sufficient.

Depends on what passwords you are talking about. Most passwords you have the option to change whenever you want.

Your description of the problem is a bit confusing.  Do you have ONLY ONE Apple ID or do you have MORE THAN ONE?

This is the iTunes for Windows forum...
    You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new windows installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup! (Windows tip). For a Mac use Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner.

  • I HAVE A MAC BOOK AND I CAN GET TO WORK THE CD 1 IT DOESN'T READ AND ONLY APPEAR A ICON LIKE A FOLDER WIR ONE QUESTION MARK, CAN SOME BODY HELP?

I HAVE A MAC LAP TOP MAC BOOK AND  WANT JUST TO REINSTALL THE SOFTWARE I DONT CARE ABOUT MY FILES I HAVE BACK UP BUT WHEN I INSERT THE DISK VERSION 10.5 WHICH COMES WITH MY COMPUTER DOESN'T WANT TO READ I HEARD THA IS TRYING BUT NOTHING,
    CAN SOME BODY HELP ME...

There is a possibility that the disk drive could be broken, if it just spits it back out that usually means its toast. If your MacBook has a Core 2 Duo processor, you can install Lion (via a thumb drive not disks). Here is a link to the Lion thumb drive. You can also still order them for $19.99 by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE. Also you can borrow an external disk drive and try the Leopard disks that way as well.
    Good Luck!

  • HT204150 i have deleted all contacts in icloud but still have them on my iphone (which is backed up as well to iTunes) how can i restore the iphone data to the iCloud so it will resend it to my mac book and iPad?

i have deleted all contacts in icloud but still have them on my iphone (which is backed up as well to iTunes) how can i restore the iphone data to the iCloud so it will resend it to my mac book and iPad? I have switched my iphone to airplane mode so it is not connected to the internet and so icloud can not wipe it at the moment.
    thanks roy

There's a menu choice (I think under "Files") that lets you sync purchased items on a device back to itunes.  Look for that.
iCloud does not store music.  If you want to do that you'd have to subscribe to itunes Match, but to get music to the match servers, you need the music in the itunes library on your computer.

  • Sharing display and internet connection between a 13inch Mac Book and G4

Does anyone know whether it is possible to connect a Mac Book and a G4 Powermac with an ethernet cable and then hook them both up to the same display and ethernet internet connection?

Usually you use a router to share an internet connection and to make a local network between the computers over Ethernet or WiFi. I think it is possible to directly connect the computers without a router, but you might have to use a cross-over cable, I'm not sure how to set up a direct connection. Using a wireless router with wired ports would allow you the flexibility of using the MacBook wirelessly and the PowerMac with a wired connection. I have an Apple Airport Extreme Base Station, and it was pretty easy to set up, it plugs into my cable modem to share the internet connection.
They make hardware devices that allow you to share a docking station between more than one computer, called a KVM switch, so you can have one keyboard, video display, and mouse and switch between two active computers.
Alternately, using the network connection, you can use Chicken of the VNC, which is a virtual network computer, this opens a window, or full-screen mode, of a computer so you can operate it from another computer.
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/cotvnc/
You can also control a PC from the Mac using Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection.
    http://www.microsoft.com/mac/otherproducts/otherproducts.aspx?pid=remotedesktopc lient
Some monitors have multiple inputs, so you wouldn't need to use a KVM switch, if for example your monitor has both DVI and VGA inputs, the front panel can select the source, so you could use a DVI adapter for the MacBook and a VGA for the PowerMac. You could still use the KM portion of a KVM switch if you wanted to use a single full-size keyboard and mouse with both computers.

  • HT3986 i installed win 7 on my mac book, and the sound driver was installed successfully, but i don't hear any sound, please help

i installed win 7 on my mac book, and the sound driver was installed successfully, but i don't hear any sound, please help

Is the volume muted? Click on the volume icon in the system tray to see if it shows as muted. If that's the case, I know of a workaround to fix this because if you unmute the speakers now, the condition will come back when you reboot your computer. I don't know the exact steps off the top of my head at the moment as I'm not in front of my machine. Check this first and reply if muting was the problem and I will detail the steps needed to fix the problem.

I cannot boot up my Mac book and all I get is a long beep
Have tried checking the keypad and no luck
Is this a logic board issue or is it something else?

My daughters Mac crashed mid assignment and after hours for phone support. So was looking to see if there was anything we could do here. Your advice is correct but the issue was "long beeps". Which are generally a serious issue and not one that we are going to be able to deal with. Like the icon .... and do appreciate the fact that you were happy to help. cheers

  • TS1398 my iphone 4s can not scan any wifi network, i tried everything but still can not scan any wifi connection even though our wifi is working properly in our mac book and ipad. What do i need to do if the problem is the hardware?pls help

my iphone 4s can not scan any wifi network, i tried everything but still can not scan any wifi connection even though our wifi is working properly in our mac book and ipad. What do i need to do if the problem is the hardware?pls help

When you say it "can not scan any wifi network" do you mean it is not detecting Wi-Fi networks?
Is Wi-Fi turned on in Settings > General > Wi-Fi?
Have you tried Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings?
Is it just the home network that the device will not connect to? or any network?
