Mac Book compatibility with Samsung Omnia - windows based.
Can you help me. My Partner has recently acquired a Mac Book with iWorks installed and set up a new Apple email address via Mobile me. She has subsequently acquired a new Samsung Omnia mobile phone which is a windows based mobile. How do we sync this phone with her Mac Book to receive emails.
Plus how do we copy her Itunes library onto this phone please.

I have two Macs and one windows but I left the disk along with the key code in Dubai. If I want to use windows 7 on bootcamp on my other mac, and do a migrate, will I have to use the key code at some point?
if do do I have to buy a new windows 7?There is no system like Acronis for the Mac platform. You can try using the buiilt in Disk Utility to create an Image of the complete Mac drive but I have found that this does not work very well as on tryiing to restore it gives errors sometimes.
You can use SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner to create a bootable Clone of your system partition. But that is only for the System partition and not the complete drive.
If you use Boot Camp to install Windows on your Mac neither of those two programs will clone the Windows side.
Neither will Disk utility as Mac's can not create or write to a NTFS partition. So some other program is need for that. -

It sounds like you destroyed your boot partition and the recovery partition. Depending on it's age, your MacBook Air might be able to do a net boot. Plug and ethernet connection into it and attempt to boot. If it has the right firmware, it will find a net boot configuration on the net and boot that. Then it will give you a Recovery Partition like display and allow you to reinstall the OS X version that came with it.... assuming that it was Lion or ML. If your computer came with Snow Leopard, then even the net boot won't work.
At that point you need a bootable USB Key, or an external DVD drive AND a Snow Leopard installation DVD.
An Apple Store, if there is one nearby, MAY be able to get you going again. However, whatever is on the SSD now will be toast too. -
I have installed windows 8 on my mac book pro with bootcamp 4 and the issue is whenever i open windows 8 , It hangs after 15 minutes and does not work . How to resolve this issue? Is it compatibility issue ?

I have a mac book pro with Boot Camp that also runs windows. I upgraded to Lion and now the mac side crashes/freezes periodically, especially iphoto. I am told by the genius' that I probably need to "clean" it and reinstall lion using the "recovery drive" which resets everything back to default and reinstalls the lion operating system. My question is will this also delete the "windows" partition drive and all that data too. If so that will be a huge pain in the ___ to back up and reinstall boot camp and windows. I want to shoot the lion.

After Security updation of Windows 7 in Boot Camp (Mac Book Pro with Retina Display) on 13-Nov-2013, Windows 7 Desktop Gadgets are not working properly.
This is boot camp problem, because in other normal notebooks (e.g. SONY VAIO, Lenovo with Windows 7) the gadgets are working normally.
I am attaching the screen shot of Desktop Gadgets and Security updates of Windows 7.
Kindly solve this issue ASAP.

Have you reinstalled the latest Boot Camp Windows 7 drivers, just in case Microsoft overwrote some of them during the Windows 7 security update?

Before partition by Boot Camp on Mac Book Pro With Mac OS Lion the computer restarts but not open wizard of Windows 7 install and appears the apple with question mark...don't recognize disk..

Open your Displays system preferences. Is there an Arrangement tab and does it show two screens? If no Arrangement tab then your mac does not know it has two screens. Maybe smc and pram reset will shake it free and maybe not. Maybe there's something wrong with the connection. Thunderbolt plugs are similar to mini-displayport plugs so make sure the plug is pushed firmly in so that essentially all the metal part disappears inside the socket. I have a Mac book pro with iPhoto updated to iPhoto 11 we have 2 users on our Mac myself and my husband. I recently loaded all of our pictures from a recent trip into iPhoto under my login screen. Can these photos also be transferred into my husbands iPhoto library under his login screen ? I want to transfer some not all of them and already deleted them from the camera card.
Use iPhoto Sharing.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work. -
How to upgrade MAC Book Pro with OS X 10.5.8 to OS X 10.6
I have a MAC book Pro (Intel core 2 Duo based) HW Rev 3.1. I am trying to upgrade to OS X 10.6.
When i tried inplace upgrade it errored out with a message that I cannot upgrade. I wiped the disk clean using Disk utility and tried booting with the 10.6 DVD. I start the installation and errors out with the same error "cannnot upgrade". I did not get any further information on why it is not letting me install. I am using the CD from another MAC Book Pro I got few months back. Any help is highly appreciated.The install DVD from the new model MacBook Pro will not run on your older MacBook Pro. The 10.6 install DVD is machine-specific.
You need to purchase the retail version of Snow Leopard to install OSX10.6 on your older Macbook Pro. -

Rosetta is not included in 10.7.
If this is the case, you may need to partition your hard drive, install Windows on it, and use that partition for your work. -
