Mac Book help
I recently updated my mac book to snow leopard and now I am unable to access youtube videos, I am getting a message (blocked plug-in) what do I do?
I did and it lead me to download an adobe flash player and I downloaded it, then I restart my laptop and tried to view another video and I got the same message. I did it like 4 times and received the same message.

Mac Book Pro constantly displays spinning wheel of death HELP!!!
My Mac Book Pro (after installing Mavericks) displays the spinning wheel of death multiple times per day. I thought it was my Google Chrome, but now it has been happening no matter what application I am using. I used Etrecheck to see what is going on with my computer, but I don't actually know what the output means. I've copied the information below.
More information: I no longer have a Blackberry, but I don't know how to remove any software that may still be on my computer (since I see Blackberry listed under Kernel Extensions). I also backed up my harddrive on the 28th, just to be safe.
I would greatly appreciate any and all help with this. I'm in the process of trying to study for mulitple teacher certification exams, so this is the worst possible time for tmy computer to suddenly go haywire. Thank you so much to anyone who takes the time to help!

yes, it could be due to nearly anything listed in your kernel extensions, startup items, launch daemons, launch agents, or user items above. Please check all of your installed third-party software to make sure that the versions which are installed on your MacBook Pro are compatible with Mavericks; uninstall every software package which isn’t Mavericks-compatible. After you’ve done that, boot into Safe mode, and see if you still get the beach ball of doom there. If it doesn’t appear there, restart normally and see if it appears then. -
Does anyone know why my mac/me mail would suddenly stop sending mail? Happend a few weeks back since the software update and now won't send a thing. LIke I said I deleted the acount, set it up again, did a sync to my mac book, checked settings again and still it wont send mail. Received fine.
I've looked through the threads but cant find one for me/mac mail on the iphone with same problemI spoke with Apple Support this morning and they believe anything MobileMe related is due to the conversion over to iCloud that's taking place.
As for other email clients, check with your host to see if settings have changed on their end. I use inmotionhosting.com and over the weekend the updated their outgoing requirements so that a password authentication is now needed.

I desperately need to uninstall adobe reader from my Mac book air. I sent adobe reader to trash and afterwards look for internet plugs in library but this folder is empty in my library. Can anybody help me?

Reset Password using Recovery HD
Boot into Recovery Partition.
Start the computer,then press and hold down command and R keys to start into recovery partition.
When you see the Apple logo, release the keys.
Wait until OS X Utilities window shows up.
Move the mouse to the menubar at the top and click "Utilities", then select "Terminal"
from the drop down.
Terminal window will appear.
Type in resetpassword and press enter on the keyboard.
Leave the Terminal window open.
Reset Password Utility window will open with Macintosh HD selected.
Select the user account from the popup menu box.
Enter a new password.
Reenter the new password for the user.
Enter a hint.
Click the "Save" button.
Click in the menubar and select Restart.
Log in.
If Keychain dialog box appears, select “Create New Keychain”.
If this does not help, you have to take the computer to the Apple store. -
My Mac Book Pro was really slow at everything and would kick me out of my photos every time i got on them. now it won't even allow me to log on. i put my password in and the screen will flash white and go back to the login page. HELP please...
There is nothing wrong with your Dell, it will work fine with any MacbookPro. I have been using Dell displays for over 12 years with many different Mac models. I have two 21" Ultra Sharp displays working side by side to design a Keynote presentation right now.
The issue your having is with the way Keynote takes control of the video output to both displays, it sends the presentation signal to one and the presenter display to the other, this is set up in;
Keynote preferences > Presenter display.
If you want to show a wesite or another app on either display, use application switcher:
press the the command key on the keyboard, then the tab key; a row of applications will show what applications are running, choose which one you want to show. Use command > tab to return to Keynote. -

I just bought the Apple TV, and when I go to the display on the menu bar, it does not show the apple tv device detected. I dont know what to do. I need help

I have just tried to connect my Mac book pro to an LG Plasma TV via an iWires Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable. All I get on my TV is the Mac wallpaper and nothing else. I am missing something really silly, could anyone help please.
Hi there. I also bought an iWires mini Display port to HDMI cable and have an LG LED/LCD TV. I plugged it in to my MB Pro and followed the very small writing that came in the package and got both audio and video going. You need to change the audio settings from within System Preferences on your Mac to select your TV as the audio output.
My concern is the data latency - do you experience a delay between moving your mouse on the MBPro and the TV displaying the movement? It is only a fraction of a second, but certainly enough to be annoying, especially in a cable as expensive as the iWire. -
i bought a mini DVI to HDMI convertor and a HDMI to VGA cable to connect my mac book pro to a tv but it doesn't work any one can help.
I would suggest looking into a Thunderbolt to HDMI connector. In this case, you may be able to use the TV as an external monitor. For this option, please confirm through additional research. I have not tested it personally.
You can also use an Apple TV, which connects with HDMI. In this case, you can use Airplay Mirroring. Not all Macs support Airplay Mirroring, so you need to check first. I have a Mid-2011 27" iMac, and it supports Airplay Mirroring. I don't use it often because my TV is in another room, but I just tried it and it worked. How can I connect my Mac Book Pro (year 2008) to the TV set through HDMI? I've seen a DVI to HDMI iwire but I'm no sure that it is correct. Could anyone help me? Thank you very much.
I do not know the iWire adapter, but I use an inexpensive ($3) DVI to HDMI adapter from Monoprice, along with a regular HDMI cable:

Be aware that this will only transfer video. You Macbook Pro cannot combine audio through DVI to HDMI. You will need to listen to the audio through the Mac speakers, or attach speakers or a sound system to the Mac earphone jack, or determine if your TV has the ability to accept external sound from the Mac while showing video through HDMI (few can). -

I recently purchased a Time Capsule and put my iTunes library on there so that I wasn't using up my hard drive space. Only 120gb on my mac book air. However when I download songs from iTunes I can not be connected wirelessly to the internet at the same time. Can I hard wire my TC in to my mac so that I can treat the TC as just an external hard drive? Thanks
Initially, you asked if you can hardwire your MBA to the TC. The answer is yes, by using the optional USB Ethernet adapter that Apple provides. However, in order for your MBA to access the TC's internal or USB-attached HDD, it would need to establish a network connection to it. This would be true of any NAS device on an Ethernet network. Therein, lies the problem. Your MBA cannot connect to two networks simultaneously.
One option then, would be to have two separate iTunes Media folders; one on the MBA & the other on the TC. This way, you can download the music to your MBA when connected to the Internet at the AirPort lounge, and then use iTunes Consolidate Library feature to transfer the audio files to the TC's iTunes Media Folder location. A great program to help maintain multiple iTunes Librarys and/or Media Folders, that you may want to consider, is PowerTunes. -
Help with purchasing new Mac Book Pro- 2014 release vs. 2013?
OK, so my 15" 2008 Mac Book Pro is on its last gasp--didn't help when I dropped it while open (I can now see into its innards though it's still working...sort of).
I'm not a technophile (mainly use my laptop for writing--my profession--and eBay business) so my sister told me to make sure that I had at least 8 GB and a fast processing speed. Retina display not necessary (her graphic artists friends hate it apparently) so that would lower the price; however it seems that there are two releases: Oct 2013 and July 2014. Read up on the latest release but not sure how much is necessary for to have...or care about.
Can you all weigh in and tell me (a) how important it is to have "the latest and greatest" and (b) how necessary is Retina display and (c) which would YOU purchase if you had my budget constraints. Thanks!
Anyway, I've narrowed down my choices of MacBook Pro purchases to what was within my budget: $1300 including tax. I wanted a 15" but it was too much $$$$, plus I can just use an external monitor.
Both are available at Apple. Both come with 1 year and 3-year extended warranties and both have the standard software installed, including Pages.
One more thing....Wondering if having Flash Storage is important? Only refurbished one (see below) has it.

Intel Iris GraphicsHmm... I'm not really sure where you found a July 2014 release without a retina display. I think it might be the old version because that laptop was last updated in 2012 (to my understanding. Also, your sister is kind of wrong, if you want a computer that will work well for everyday things, 4gb of ram is just fine. I have a three year old MacBook Air with 4gb of ram and do things in Photoshop, Illustrator, Pixelmator, FCP, etc. all the time running OS X Yosemite and it runs like brand new. However, if you want to future proof it, you might want 8gb so it can always run the latest OSes.
Flash Storage is amazingly fast compared to a Hard Drive. It also has no moving parts, therefore is much more durable, and much more likely to survive a drop than a Hard Drive (which would seem to be useful in your situation).
Also, I don't know why your sister's friends would hate the Retina display. Many people love it because it gives them the ability to edit pixel by pixel with perfect accuracy.
I would go for the Retina display. It has better specs for the same price so why not? Not to mention that it's much faster and will likely receive updates much longer than the new MacBook Pro without Retina display.
