Mac Book Pro 15.4 - Bluetooth stopped working

Hi!
When I booted up my MacBook Pro (1 year old), all of a sudden I see:
Bluetooth: not available.
In the "Addition programs group", Bluetooth file exchange said: No bluetooth hardware found.
The day before yesterday, I had also trouble to connect to the net with the in-built nic.
Can anyone help me???

Sorry for choosing the wrong category.

Call AppleCare or take the computer to your local Apple service center. We can't fix hardware failures.

    Hello skkmmayer,
That is probably a lot of stuff you do not want on your iPhone. So this can be handled a few different was. For you current situation, you can delete the apps directly on your iPhone by holding on the app until it starts to jiggle and then tap on the X of all the apps that you do not want. The second thing you can do is before you sync with iTunes, look at the app section on your iPhone to know what gets transfer to it and you can deselect items that you do not want. Lastly, if you download content on your iPad and it is a universal app, you can actually download it directly to your iPhone by looking at your past purchases and download it directly from the App Store. Check out the articles below for more information if need further assistance.

why cannot my Mac book pro connect via bluetooth my Iphone 5?

Because the iPhone does not support the BlueTooth file transfer profile. The only phone to computer profile supported is for tethering.

harminder@apple  -  any luck?    Try this,  open Finder and  press command-shift-G and copy and paste:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Skype
In this Skype folder: delete the file shared.xml  and restart Skype.
    See if this helps.

  • Mac Book Pro heating up and fans working continuously

    Hi,
This is my second Mac Book Pro, the first one "died" because of heating issues and only after an overhaul from the Mac Store, it worked again, but never the same, so I went to the Mac Store to get another one.
I purchased this one on March 2009 and three days ago it started heating up and using the fans constantly, consuming my battery very fast and making the annoying noise these little fans make. Not to mention the heat above the function keys is way beyond normal (normal: not burning your fingers when touching it for a couple of seconds).
Having had a bad heating experience with a previous Mac, I am freaking out now. Any advice on what should I look at before going to a Mac Store?
I don't use any games or very sophisticated software, basically Office, Firefox and iTunes with movies and everything included.
Here are some of my Mac's specs.
    Model Name: MacBook Pro
    Model Identifier: MacBookPro5,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache: 6 MB
    Memory: 4 GB
    Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz
    Thank you very much indeed,
    Roberto

Well it looks like there's a printer driver that is monopolizing your CPU. Do you have a Lexmark printer that you use? If so, here's a few things to try:
Download the latest print drivers for Lexmark and install them:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL901
Open Print & Fax in System Preferences and delete your Lexmark printer. Then hit the "+" symbol and add the printer back. That will let it install the new drivers.
If that doesn't work, check out the response by "Pitch64" near the bottom of this thread:

  • Help- Mac Book Pro built in speakers wont work.

Hi. I just turned on my Macbook Pro today and found something funny. My internal speakers will not work and when i try to use the volume keys the display comes up for volume but it has the do not enter icon. i plugged my headphones in to see if it worked and it did. i also noticed that there is a red light coming from my headphone jack when the headphones are not in it. Does anyone know how to get my speakers working again?? I looked at the help files and it says to make sure that internal speakers is checked in the : system preferences->sound->output. but all there is to check is: digital out.
Please help. Thank you very much

Check to make sure that digital out is NOT selected - your headphone port is also a optical digital audio port - hence the red light.
When you plug in headphones, your computer knows that there are headphones attached and routes the audio accordingly, allowing you to use the built in volume controls. When the audio out port is set to Digital Out, your MBP thinks that there is some other digital device plugged in (with its own volume controls) and so disables the MBP's internal volume controls and internal speakers.
If you have checked that Digital Out is not selected, you may want to try a permissions repair, and possibly a PRAM reset (Hold  + Alt + P + R when you restart your MBP - before the grey screen).
Someone with more experience of optical ports may have another solution - obviously there isn't anything stuck in the port, so it must be a software issue.

  • Mac Book Pro Media keys no longer work

    Hi,
I installed a third party 'mac' keyboard that has media keys, Volume, Play pause etc...
Now, my MBP keyboard's keys dont work.. Brightness, Volume, backlight are all unresponsive.
Is there a package i can install that will reset them?

Hi Phil, welcome to the discussions!
I'm not sure if this is the problem but if you go into the system preferences, click keyboard & mouse and then click the keyboard tab, there is an option there that says, "Use the F1-F12 keys to control software features." If this option is ticked, you will have to hold the Fn key whilst pressing the F1/F2 keys to change brightness. The media keyboard installation may have changed this for you.

  • Microphone not working mac book pro..help?

Late 2010 model 10.6.8...my microphone has never worked and I've gone through all the regular easy steps and still no mic?  Any advice?

    Hi WebBrowser2,
As I understand your query its not a single doubt you are having at all, actually it’s a bunch of multiple doubt you are carrying here in your mind allied to Mac Book Pro (USB Ports are not working).  There might be various reasons behind- not working of USB ports in Mac Book Pro, as you already had searched out various ways to fix all your issues. A few months ago, I faced the same issue as my USB port was suddenly stopped to respond, then I also tried to find various ways to get rid of this issue, and I found an informative blog link which has fixed this issue and make me tension free.
For more information visit at- http://www.olmtopsts.com/blogs/when-macbook-pro-usb-ports-not-working.html
And I am hoping- it will assist you in the same way as it assists me.

  • Headphone / Sound Issues Mac Book Pro

Sometimes when I unplug or plug in my headphones the sound stops working completely on my Mac Book Pro.
It only starts working again when I restart.
When I restart it sometimes but not always comes up with the message that the iTunes volume is right down. Even though it wasn't when I pressed restart.

You can expect the sound to be interrupted in some cases, especially if you're using a longer cable. Usually, if you wait a while, the sound will return when your MBP detect the signal. You shouldn't have to wait for a reboot to fix things.
What's happening is that your MBP is trying analyze whether to use the input or output. It seems it's taking too long, Go to System Preferences/Sound/Output; "Headphones" should be listed when your phones are attached. For "Input," make sure it's set to "Internal Microphone."
Or, as a test, plug in a pair of earbuds instead of a headphone.
    Post with your results.

  • HELP!!! Mac Book Pro starts up then dies

    Hi,
I have had my mac book pro for 2 yr now, worked great entire time. Until now, used it last night for a couple of hours uploading video, turned it off fine, came back to it an hour or so later to finish what I was doing. Press the power button, it lights up, the computer chimes, the screen lights up with the light blue screen, but then it stops, does nothing, and it turns off with just a second long hold on the power button. Any suggestions? I already tried all of the restarts recommeneded on apple support, and nothing changed.

"I already tried all of the restarts recommeneded on apple support"
If you also did a forum search for your problem & none of the solutions worked, in that case, it's time to take your MBP to your local Apple Store or AASP. If you have AppleCare, call them first & let them deal w/it.
Otherwise, please detail all the things you have done in the way of troubleshooting. This will eliminate the +"been there, done that"+ scenarios when the knowledgeable users here try to help you. Thank you.
Was your computer connected to the ac or on battery when shutting off?

  • How to use flashdrive on a Mac book Pro in the parallels partition

I cannot use a flashdrive in the Parallels partition (windows XP) of my mac book pro. The flash drive works on the mac side fine. I get this message:
USB device you are trying to connect to the virtual machine is being used by another process. Wait 5-10 seconds, then try to connect the device again. If this does not help, find the application that blocked up the device and disconnect it manually.
Following this advice does not remedy the problem at all. How can I get the flash drive to work on both sides: Mac and PC?

When you remove the flash drive are you ejecting it or just unplugging it? If the latter then you need to use the system eject to remove it. You must also eject it properly from within Windows.
It would help if you provided the version of OS X you are using in your configuration as well as more info on the hardware model and configuration. This information helps us know about your setup in order to provide assistance.
Also, what version of Parallels are you using? Do you have USB support turned on in Parallels configuration? Have you searched the Parallels forum for possible solutions or posted your problem on their forum? This should be your first place to look for help, not the Apple Discussions.

  • Is there i cloud for Mac Book Pro?

How can I download i cloud for my Mac Book Pro?

    Yes, install Flash, right here.
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
    Keep it updated, check here
    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
    or here
    http://flashbuilder.eu/flash-player-version.html
Tell your son never to install Flash from non-Adobe websites
Flash and Silverlight are what's called web browser plug-ins that allow viewing of content on a lot of websites, it's so one format can be used with many different operating systems, computers and web browsers.
So once you install Flash (or Silverlight if you use Netflix) then it's used by all web browsers you may have installed.
However Flash can be used as a exploit angle, so  sure to keep it updated and not install it juts because a web site says so, bookmark the link above so you always download it from there.
(I won't trick you, I would be banned if I did, plus Apple knows where I live.)
