Mac book pro caps button ?

I bought a macbook pro 4 weeks ago the caps button is not working. It is not lighting up or working in general. I find this very inconvenient considering I bought this mostly for typing.

Before you take it in for service...
Go into System Preferences.
Click Keyboard.
Click the Modifier Keys button.
Check the setting for Caps Lock and make sure it is set to "Caps Lock".
My Caps Lock works (or doesn't work) exactly like yours, but for me it is on purpose. I wanted to disable it, so I have set my Caps Lock setting to "No Action" which completely stops it from doing anything.
There is also a "Restore Defaults" button in there that you might want to click to make sure the keyboard works the way it is supposed to from the factory.

On Mac Book Pro start button does not turn it on.

On Mac Book Pro start button does not turn it on.
After some attempts of pressing it finally it turns on.
(Meantime keayboard can be highlighted,but screen is black and I hear noise of shutting down it when I press it).
What can be the cause of this problem? Actually MacBook is new,only 9 months.
Please give me some suggestion what should I do.

It will be complicated to take it to the Apple store as in Georgia (Caucasus)there is not official Apple stores and in addition Mac Book was purchased in UK. I have red some staff here about start button pressing hard for turning it on, I have feeling that now it needs to be pressed hard to turn on. If it would be from the beginning I might think that it's normal,may be,for Mac Book,but initially it needed to be slightly pressed.

Mac book pro latch (button problem)

I had have had my laptop for a long time now but the latch has apeared to stop working. I had a look through the discusions and most people said they had problems with their NON-MAGNETIC latches. However the problem on mine is that the left side of the opening button is stuck earlier on the right one was aswell but I managed to fix it, but the way I did the first one does not work for the second. But if i puch in the button again the right gets stuck and i have to use the tooth pick to get it out.

Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

I use a two button mouse with my Mac Book Pro. It works fine, but after installing Lion, the mouse wheel goes in reverse of what it did (rolling the wheel towards your palm goes up not down the page). Anyone know how to fix this?

I upgraded my mac book pro to sox mountain lion to v10.8 and have subsequently lost my email edit button which allowed me to mark lots of emails for me delete en masse. I now have to delete each one individually, can someone advise how to get it back pls.

I really don't have an answer for that one. I guess that while trying to get things working correctly, I would use the most basic monitor I had which in your case would be the Eizon using the Thunderbolt port and adaptor.
When you boot into Safe Mode the startup is quite slow, but you should get the Apple logo and then the spinning gear below it (release the SHIFT key when it appears.) Then after a little more time you should see a gray progress bar appear below the spinning gear. When that disappears the computer will startup to a login screen.

Mac book pro mid 2009 shuts down after a few hour then will only boot after waiting and pressing power button numerous times. I am running mountain lion with most recent updates.

Mac book pro mid 2009 shuts down after a few hour of use and then is very difficult to reboot. Sometimes I have to wait hours, sometimes I have to repeatedly press the power button and then it will slowly start a little longer each press untill it completely boots. It has done this three times know. Each time I was watching a video.

Try running the Apple Hardware Test - sounds as if you've hardware issues.

I had upgraded my mac book pro to os x lion from snowleopard but on 2 days while i was suttig down i waits 10 -15 seconds that it says that i had to force shut from power button . this is really bugging me . what could be the problem ???

try to repair access privilegs.
Try Resetting the PRAM
If that doesn't help, try Resetting the SMC

CS5 for Windows can only be installed on Windows operating system.
You would need to purchase CS5 for Mac OS.
Given that CS5 is now 4 versions back, it's unlikely you'll find a copy.
You could get DW CC from the Creative Cloud which supports both Win/Mac platforms.

Today my M-Audio iContol play button stopped working after I unplugged it from the USB port and then plugged it back in. I have a Mac Book Pro Mac OS X 10.7.3 and I only use it for Garage Band. The iControl will only play a very short snippet of a song then shuts off? (Like a millisecond) My space bar works fine as well as the GB play button using the mouse. I have searched for the GB preference files listed on some blogs but I cannot find them...help please!! One more thing, I plgged the iControl into my other Imac and it works fine so the iControl is ok.

In MacOS 10.7.3 the User LIbrary is hidden. To find the Preferences Files use the Finder "Go" menu:
Click onto you Desktop to bring the Finder forward.
In the Finder Menu press "Go" and hold down the "option/alt" key, until your user library appears in the drop-down menu
Select "Library" and in the Finder window that opens navigate to the "Prederences" folder; move com.apple.garageband.plist to the Desktop.

If you keep getting a 'red' message it means that the HDD is faulty and will have to be replaced. You will have to format the new HDD in Disk Utility>Erase and then install the OSX and your data from Time Machine.
