Mac book pro charger

My Mac Book pro charger has broken. The Mac is from the u.k but I am living in South Korea now. Can I buy a charger out here and it will work ok ???

You may purchase an Apple charger anywhere in the world and it will work.  The issue you have to be aware of the the outlet plug type in a given country, thus you may need an appropriate plug adapter.

  • Mac book pro charger is there a fuse as mine just stopped working?

Just plugged my new mac book pro into the mains and the charger sparked and I assume blew a fuse. Does anyone know where the fuse is? This is a UK computer not US. Thanks

What is the correct fuse raiting for a mac book pro charger? My fuse blew at a practice room and the practice room guy replaced it with one lying around which then blew straight away so I'm thinking (hoping) he swapped it with one with the wrong rating. But now I don't have the original to check the rating!
    Thanks

  • Can i use mac book pro charger to mac book

Yes you can use an 85W adapter with a MacBook that requires a 60W adapter. Not an issue.

  • Does my warranty cover the mac book pro charger?

I got a new Mac Book pro for Christmas and the charger already stopped working. Luckily I had an old one. Anyone know if my warrantly will cover the dead charger? Not trying to spend like 75 bucks on a new one.

The Mac, so they can corroborate the serial no. and confirm coverage. Can check here:  https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do
After this experience, consider the benefits of extending the warranty for two more years, post-Xmas, with AppleCare.

  • Mac Book Pro Charger won't charge

Just yesterday my Mac Book Pro "L" 85W Magsafe Charger would not charge my laptop. Eventually I tried using my sisters Charger, a 60W "T" Magsafe charger. It seemed to charge for a day, but today that charger has died as well. I can't understand why these chargers are dieing suddenly, whats happening and what can I do?

The Apple power adapter includes circuitry that cause the adapter to shut down for various reasons: over-temp, over-voltage, over-current.  The adapter can be reset by unplugging it from the computer, unplugging it from the wall, waiting 30 seconds, plugging the AC input adapter cord into the wall and, finally, plugging the DC output adapter cord into your computer.

  • Can I use an 85 watt charger for my 15" mac book pro

the 15" came with a 60 watt charger - it is okay to use the more powerful charger (that came with a 17" mac book pro) on the smaller laptop?

Here is Apple's official position on use of adapters.

  • How long should the Mac Book pro hold its charge???

How long should the Mac Book pro hold a  battery charge??

For a single use or how long will the battery last until it needs to be replaced?  For single use, it depends on what you are doing when using you mac.  I find that when using mine I get about 6-6 1/2 hours just using it to browse the internet before I need to recharge it.  If it is one of the newer Macbook Pros that claim to have a 7 hour battery life, It can last up to 5 years.  See this article on notebook batteries to get the most out of your battery: http://www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html.  Hope this helps

  • Feeling electric shock while charging Mac book Pro

    Hai everyone!
i just bought a Mac bookPro 15 inch 2.53 Ghz.
i am feeling a mild tingling/ vibrating shock while charging my mac book pro. i can feel the sensation all over the aluminium unibody part- especially while using the Mac book as well as charging it at the same time. is it Earthing/ grounding problem? or is it any voltage problem? or is it any problem with my Mac Book Pro?
    Thanks and Regards

"I bought my laptop from the US, but i am using it in Spain , with the aid of a plug converter (3 pong to 2 European one)...
"1) is this problem i am experiencing due to the plug converter?"
Yes and no. Outside of the US, the AC line voltage is twice as high, and that's why people outside of the US generally experience the "shock". If you use a 3-prong plug adapter inserted in a properly-grounded AC outlet, the problem will be resolved.
"2) I am staying in student resident, and so i doubt that the MBP is not properly grounded.. That would be dangerous, no??"
If you are using a 2-prong prong adapter, your unit is not properly grounded. Using an improperly grounded computer is not dangerous.
"3) Aside from being extremely annoying sensation, is it bad for the laptop??"
    No.
"Because if not, i can always use another keyboard.."
You mean, "if it IS" a problem , you can use another keyboard. Using another keyboard is does not change the grouping scheme of the computer.
"I am not saying whose fault this is, but i only felt this shock with the mac book pro (15 inch).. i owned a power book and a 13 in mac book, and never felt a shock like this before... Could it be because of the placement of the battery on the laptop?"
No, it's because you're using a metal-cased computer, at a high AC input voltage.

  • Mac book pro will not start up.  Charging light is on, but no response from computer.  What happened?

The Mac Book Pro was fine, and then just stopped working.  I connect the power source, and the light is on as if it is charging.  However, when I try to turn the laptop on, nothing happens.  There is no response whatsoever.  Any ideas what happened and what I need to do?

If no success, a trip to an Apple store genius bar is the best recourse.
