Mac book pro Dec 2009 - program to edit jvc mpeg into dvd

im new to mac... here is my question. I hve a jvc mpeg hard drive video camera. What sort of program do i need so my mac can edit and burn these mpeg's into a dvd with chapters.. menus.. etc Thank you

iMove can Import some types of mpeg file directly - File/Import menu
If that doesn't work check out Mpeg StreamClip or DropDV
You can then use iMovie or iDVD to create discs.

...how do i delete the user files,  on the target computer? i cant trash them?
You placed the users files  into the Trash can and then Finder > Empty Trash, this sends a message to the other drive that the files don't exist anymore.
If you can't Trash the files it doesn't matter really.
Unmount the drive by dragging it's icon to the Trash can turns into a Eject.
Now on the problem Mac you boot holding the Shift Key down, this enters Safe Mode and should hopefully get you into the machine to delete files. Reboot normally to exit safe mode.
If you can't do this, then it depends upon what operating system is on the machine, you either need the 10.6 boot disks or can hold Command R and boot into RecoveryHD and then erase the MacintoshHD partition and reinstall OS X, your programs and files from backup.

Airplay Mirroring requires MacBook Pro early 2011 or later and Mountain Lion or later.

  • How do I do to conect an Emac with a Mac Book Pro Mid 2009

I want to conect my Emac with my Mac Book Pro Mid 2009 in order to share and move files. I bought a firewire cable 9 pins to 6 pins and conected both computers but I am unable to see the hard drives and move files.

You eMac will need to be booted into Target Disk Mode.
Restart the eMac and hold the T key. It will then show up on your MBPs Desktop.

  • Problems with volume when streaming a Netflix movie from my Mac Book Pro (Mid 2009) to my flat screen TV?

    Hi!
Does anyone know what I need to do in order to turn up the volume when I’m streaming a Netflix movie from my Mac Book Pro (Mid 2009) to my flat screen TV?
I hooked up the HDMI adapter from my Mac to my TV and it is currently in Mirror Mode, but I can’t turn up the volume, the only audio I’m able to adjust is on my Mac.
I’ve already tried: System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers Built in output.  That’s the only option my Mac gives me.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello jguti,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
I understand that your external display connected via HDMI is not being detected by the computer.  At this point, the best bet for your next troubleshooting step would be to reset the system:
    Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.
    Reset the resolution
Start by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
    Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
    Restart your computer.

  • Mac book pro mid 2009 shuts down after a few hour then will only boot after waiting and pressing power button numerous times. I am running mountain lion with most recent updates.

Mac book pro mid 2009 shuts down after a few hour of use and then is very difficult to reboot. Sometimes I have to wait hours, sometimes I have to repeatedly press the power button and then it will slowly start a little longer each press untill it completely boots. It has done this three times know.  Each time I was watching a video.

Try running the Apple Hardware Test - sounds as if you've hardware issues.

  • How can I buy black rubber feet for my mac book pro mid 2009

MY 2009 Mid Mac Book Pro bottom pad came off.  Very very poor design.  These should last forever.  I noticed that this was a design or product failure.  Thus I need the part number to order them.  Cant seem to get any assistance.

I have located the pads on Ebay.  I biggest issue is the design for removal and install.  Yes nothing last forever!! If you look at the message boards they are failing on new product also.  Poor design any way you look at it!!

  • Mac book pro 2011 iLIFE programs to MAC OS X MAVERICKS

    Hi,
I have a mac book pro 2011 13" with os snow leopard and I'm wondering if, installing mac os x maveriks, I will lose my iphoto program and I must buy it after installing the new os x.
Now I use and I have iLife programs free from Leopard but I was reading that the i Life packet will be free only on new users...
    Thanks a lot
    Andrea

Wait it out for couple of hours.
    Hope you have a backup.
If you have a backup ready, restart the computer.

  • Why can't I airplay mirror my Mac Book Pro (new) with my TV when I play a DVD on my Mac Book?

I can see the screen from my Mac Book Pro but the DVD movie only displays as a check board on my TV. If I choose to look at my Mac Book only it works fine. BR hp

I'm not certain but I think Airplay is a non-secure protocol.
So if someone wrote a program to intercept Airplay they could potentially make a copy of that encrypted DVD you are trying to Airplay, albeit with compression and other compromises.

  • Replacing a Battery in 13" Mac Book Pro / Late 2009

I got a panicked phone from my daughter today that her 13" MacBook Pro / Late 2009 wouldn't power up. She had been working on some important college paper in the library and she got a warning message saying her battery needed service. After putting the computer in "sleep mode," it wouldn't "wake" up right away when she connected it to the Power Adapter. The light in the Mag-Safe "plug" was not on. She was very very concerned about not being able to submit her assignment on time.
Eventually, the light in the "Mag-Safe" plug did come on and the computer started up normally and is functioning well. Since the computer is only about two years old, I hoped to find answers to a few questions. Navigating the "redesigned" Apple Support site is proving very challenging (for me, anyway) and hopefully, someone will feel sorry for me and help me out...
    1. Is two years all you can expect from a 13" MacBook Pro Battery?
    2. I understand that "end users" cannot replace these batteries as they could on earlier McBook Pros and they must be replaced by a skilled Apple technician. About how much is this going to cost me?

  • Wie Mac Book Pro 13 (2009) neu aufsetzen???

Wie genau muss ich Verfahren um mein Apple Mac Book neu aufzusetzen?

Pressing the C-button during boot should do the trick but I'm wondering, did you put in the SL DVD *before* you rebooted the Mac? So, execute the following steps:
    * Put in the SL DVD
    * Restart the MBP
    * Immediately when the MBP reboots, press the C key
Now the MBP will look for a bootable DVD. This should be your SL DVD. After a while you see the startup manager.
Here's a link that pretty much provides all the steps again: http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-boot-snow-leopard-from-a-dvdrom.htm l
After you've installed Snow Leopard you can upgrade again to Lion. BTW, you could also create a bootable Lion DVD and simplify the whole Snow Leopard -> Lion install. Follow the instructions on the following link: http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-20080989-263/how-to-create-an-os-x-lion-ins tallation-disc/

  • Ram upgrade for mac Book Pro mid 2009

Hi, I just bought 2x Kingston 4GB ram upgrades for mid-2009 MacBook Pro. First I don't notice any difference in speed. Second, the computer (in about this mac, activity monitor) doesn't seem to acknowledge it now has 8gb of ram not 4gb. Why would these be so?

You should be able to install 8GB I would check to make sure it has a secure connection. Maybe one of the RAM sticks is bad, or the port itself is bad.
    13-Inch Mid 2009: http://support.apple.com/kb/sp541
    15-Inch Mid 2009: http://support.apple.com/kb/sp544
They both state that they can support up to 8GB of RAM.
