Mac book pro i5 dual core Adobe CS5.5 Design Premium

Hi All,
I am thinking of getting a 13" 2011 mac pro i5 dual core for graphics design and not for any video editing. Can anybody advice the on board HD 3000 graphics is adequate to run adobe CS5.5 suites (illustrator, indesign, photoshop etc)?
Thanks in advance
Gaj

It is adequate but not great. Also the screen size would be limiting for this type of work.
I suggest you look into the 15" models as they have a dedicated graphics chip and a larger screen, of course.
You will also want to upgrade the RAM from the standard 4GBs to 8GBs but you can do that yourself for much less money then buying it from Apple with the unit.

  • I recently bought a 13" Mac Book Pro i7 dual core processor and everything was just fine until now. I have been using iMovie for about a month and it runs perfectly, but now I can't seem to use it for more than 20 minutes without iMovie crashing. Help?

When iMovie crashes it also makes my compute very slow and unpleasant to use. Has anyone else had this problem before? Should I take my laptop to the genius bar? I owned this computer for over a month now.

  • Adobe CS5.5 Design Premium - What is the most logical order to learn the programs in this suite?

Okay, so I want to become a real Adobe fan.  I have CS5.5 Design Premium, I am running Windows 8, I have both a digital camera and video recorder and I have a Bamboo drawing tablet.
What would be the most logical order to learn the programs in the Adobe CS5.5 Design Premium?
Could you provide recommendations for using the online video trainings?

The most logical order is dictated by your own needs. Sorry to be so blunt, but trying to determine the order of which tools and workflows based on "I'm hip when I know Photoshop." or similar is bound to take you nowhere. Any of the individual programs has more features than even pros who use them every day will ever use. Everyone only uses the part relevant to get the work done. That being so, you could be watching tutorials for the next 5 years every day and still not have learned anything relevant. With that in mind there's realyl only two reasonable ways to learn:
    a) Attend a structured course.
    b) Come up with an idea for a specific project of your own.
A good place to start would be e.g. creating a photographic essay/ story - shoot some photos, edit them in PS, create a layout in ID, some logo in AI. Then you can look up specific tutorials for techniques as you go along.

  • ADOBE CS5.5 DESIGN PREMIUM STUDENT-INT H5951Z/A Italian language

    Good morning,
this is my first thread and may be I'm placing a stupid question and I apologize in advance.
I ordered Adobe CS5.5 Design Premium STUDENT-INT  Code H5951Z/A and I will receive it in few days ( through the Italian Apple Store).
My doubt is related to the language, I'm an Italian Student and I would prefer to use this software by using the Italian Language.
Is the Italian Language available with this version?
Thank You very much for Your precious comments.
    Best regards
    Marta Comalli

Called Apple yesterday and they told me that as far as it has been purchased in Italy there "would" be the Italian language available.
I don't want to appear too difficult on this topic, my concern is that once the Adobe original package will be opened it will be mine, with or without the ITA language.
Maybe the code H5951Z/A tells it but I can't find anything related to it on the web.

  • Mac Book pro or Quad core machine

I am running logic 6 on a 1.6G5. I want to upgrade to Logic 8 with a new Mac. I was wondering how stable / powerful are the macBook pros? Would a mac book pro be enough to use in my studio. My trusty old g5 is pretty slow now and only runs around 10 instruments 3 tracks of audio before it dies. I want my new set up to run AS MANY 3rd Party plugs / Logic instruments / Audi as poss!!
Would you guys get a Mac Book pro or a quad or Oct machine with an extra (4gigs or RAM)?
Help I need advice before I choose.
BTW I recently bought a brand new 2.4 duo Macbook. And I cant even run 1 instance of Ableton Lives simpler instrument!! This has sparked my questioning weather a Mac Bok pro should be any different wityh Logic 8.
    please donate help and advice!!
    John

WOW!! Cheers for posts. This confirmed much of what I thought anyway but its always good to hear the advice of others. Regarding Ableton - I ran it last night on my crappy 3Ghz Dell computer (which i bought for £150) - and Ableton ran like dream, no stutters, nothing!! I tried it on the macbook 2.4 Duo and ditto; it stutters after adding a hi hat pattern to a kick pattern!!
I read in the forums that turning off bluetooth and upgrading software and downgrading the OS may help but lets be honest here: THIS IS BULL!! These machines and software should work out the box, every time, for everybody.
My old system was SO stable it was a dream, unfortunatley the Mac isnt powerful enough now to give me and my projects what i want. I am therfore in the unenviable position of jumping to a new version of Logic a new OS and machine plus 3r party plug-ins. Well ****** off.
I think my best option is to get a new machine, install 10.4 and and logic 7. Is this possible? Or go all out get Logic 8, 10.5, and a quad. Advice!!!
    Cheers

  • Adobe CS5.5 Design Premium Serial Number Not Working

I just wiped my macbook pro harddrive and upgraded to Lion OSX. I bought the CS5 Design Premium last year (in a case). Unfortunately, my discs are unavailable, but I do have the correct serial number. When I downloaded the CS5.5 Design premium trial (to plug in my serial number), it says it isn't valid. Is there a place that I can download the CS5 Design Premium Suite so that my serial number will work? Help! I'm a photographer and I need PS to work immediately!

Maddiewilbur have you lost your installation media or is it just unavailable for the moment?  If you will have access to the installation media at a later time I would recommned installing the trial of Design Premium CS5.5 and then remove it and install CS5 once you have access to it.

  • Is it possible to do fantasy football drafts on a Mac Book Pro with not having Adobe?

Is there a ap that we can download to do Fantasy Football drafts through Yahoo / ESPN? Apple doesn't allow Adobe and Adobe is the set up Yahoo uses. I have to image Apple has a way for users to complete these type of drafts right?

Try installing 2.7 from here: Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh   Historically, installing a download has often worked better than installing from CD.

  • Adobe CS5.5 Design Premium Student and Teacher Edition

I bought CS5.5 back in 2013. I have installed it on my macbook pro and currently I am planning to purchase a new Macbook. I am wondering if I can install it again on the new laptop. Or whether or not I can somehow move CS5.5 from the old to the new laptop. Also, I am wondering if I need to go through the whole verification process since it is a student and teacher edition.
    Thanks.

    Hi Kenny,
You can use the same serial number on the new machine without any issues. Just make sure that you are deactivating the product on your old machine before installing this on the new Mac. To deactivate, you can simply go to Help > Deactivate in any one of the product's. Also, you can use the following link to download the product on your new machine.
    Download CS5.5 products
PS: Please do not use Time machine to move Adobe programs from your Older machine to New one.
    Cheers,

  • Just completed a clean install of CS6 Photoshop on my Yosemite Mac Book Pro and the Adobe Application Manager does not work and cannot install a fresh copy from Adobe

Just re-installed a fresh copy of CS6 Photoshop on my Yosemite Mac Book Pro and somehow the Adobe Application Manager does not work and therefore cannot verify my copy.  What should I do?
I get a message saying that Adobe Application Manager may be damaged and that I should install a new version of AAM.  But after downloading a fresh copy of AAM and doing the install, the program (AAM) still will not install.  It is like an infinite loop!
    Please, someone help!
    Thanks!

    HI gener7!
I'm sorry but I am not on Creative Cloud.  I'm still on CS6 and it was the Adobe Application Manager that wasn't working and I could not install the update to this application.  My AAM version is:  8.0.0160
The link you provided was the update that I wanted to install but it does not work.  A window shows up during that install that says:
    We've encountered the following issues.
Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.
and then the link to the Adobe Support Advisor which leads to a "Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued" page.
    Thanks!

  • Is the 802.11n download compatable with my Mac Book Pro?

I have a Mac Book Pro with a core duo processor. I was wondering if I could purchas the $2.00 download and make my computer 802.11n compatable. I dont know if I need to get anything new, say a different airport card, or if I can just download the "new" software.

You'd need a new Airport card or ExpressCard for 802.11n. But if you just want it for Internet, don't bother, only for local file transfer, e.g. Time Capsule.

  • Mac Book Pro slow

Problem with the Mac Book Pro 13 Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM
I have imported quite a lot of photographs to my HDD library and before I noticed, I had less that 2GB space left and my mac seriously slowed down.
After a short while it crashed and then it took around three hours to reboot and to see the desktop again.
I removed some data and now have 40GB space left on my disc, also downloaded and installed latest OSX Mountain Lion. It is a little bit better it takes around one hour to restart my laptop now but now I am not sure what to do next. How and where to check where is the issue?
I have used a Blackmagic Disk Speed Test and it tells me that my SATA disk performance is both write and read around 70Mb/s.
Your advice would be really appreciated. Ola Z

Did you do a clean install or an upgarde of the OS?
    I would do the following
    1) Open Disk Utility
    2) Check Disk for errors
    3) Repair Permissions
    4) Reboot
    5) Reboot again.
    6) If it isn't better, backup everything and do a clean reinstall of Mountain Lion

  • What is the largest and fastest Hard Drive I can install in a 17" I-7 Mac Book Pro running Final Cut Pro7 7

What is the Largest and Fastest Hard drive that can be installed in my 17" Mac Book Pro i7 duo core 2.8 I need it to be compatible with Final Cut Pro 7

    One of these SSDs:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/SSDMX6G480/
An SSD is always a faster storage solution. A regular hard drive will almost ALWAYS be the bottleneck in a system, because it's the only part in a computer that has physical, moving parts. The SSD has no moving parts, so there's much less latency when reading and writing. That particular SSD is designed with professionals in mind, meaning that it will right at home rendering video in Final Cut. Hope that helps!

  • Which designing software I can run on mac book pro?

    Hi,
I am an engineering student. I need to use designing software such as ansys, catia, autocad, pro-e, and many more. Also I have plan to buy mac book pro. I need to know which designing software I can run on mac machine and what specification it should have? Thank you.
    Jaydeep

2.2 Ghz 15" MacBook Pro with high res anti-glare would be the best machine for you.
The 17" is fine too if you want a larger screen.
The 1GB Radeon 6750M video card will give you all you need for GPU performance for eh next 3-5 years or longer.
So the above is a future proof choice for the long haul.
(avoid the 13" and the 2.0 ghz 15", not so good graphics performance)
The anti-glare because you going to using your laptop in many different enviroments and your not going to be able to control the lights, etc to reduce the screen reflections. money well spent to see your screen properly.
Mac's can run a lot of software, they can also direct boot into Windows for Windows only programs.
Windows can also run inside OS X using virtual machine software like VMFusion (Apple likes) and Parallels, just takes a 50% performance hit on 3D games and animation.
Another nifty thing is if you set up a "bootcamp" partition of Windows for direct boot, virtual machine software can use that as a copy for the virtual machine OS in OS X. So no need to double install.
Also if your geekish, you can make a Mac triple boot. OS X, Windows and Linux too. So all software is avaiable with full hardwre perfromance.
I have a trible boot machine, also I run about 9 other operating systems on my 17" MacBook Pro in virtual machine as it's good enough for me (not a hard core 3D gamer) and easy to manage.
