Should be able to go into your sound preferences and choose your output device, you can also try downloading Airfoil and try that, it's a pretty cool app.

  • My 15 inch Mac Book Pro is heating up...

I took it into Apple, and after the tests, the fans are running fine. I had a keyboard cover & was advised to take it off, as it was absorbing the heat in. The worker at Apple said everything was fine, I'm just extra paranoid with my baby(Mac).  He advised not to get a cooling pad with a fan. I don't know what to do. HELP!!!!

Exactly what model MacBook Pro do you have?
Many MBP's have two graphic processors (gpu's) and if you are using the dedicated graphics processor, your MBP will heat up a lot  more than when the built-in graphics processor is in use.   For example, the current non-Retina MBP's have both a built-in Intel HD 4000 graphics processor and a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M graphics processor.
You can control which video processor is in use via System Preferences > Energy Saver.  If you are running Lion (10.7) there is an option for Automatic Graphics Switching which you should turn off (disable) in order to use only the built-in video processor.  In my own experience I have found very few cases where the dedicated gpu gives 'better' performance than the built-in gpu.

  • My mac book pro getting heated and starting up is very slow please me

    MY config....please help me out
    its heating too much

The temperatures that you iStat pro shows are not out of line for video and games.  When internal temperature start approaching and exceeding 100c, then there becomes cause for concern.  Never the less, run an Apple Hardware test:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1509
(you may have to press OPTION D keys to start it)
Regarding the slow boot time, start with these two user tip articles:

  • Power adapter  heats up of mac book pro 17"

the power adapter of my mac book pro 17" heats up a lot almost burns the hand!!!!!! Any suggestions to override this problem
mac book pro 17"   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

The adaptor should get a little warm, but not enough that you can't hold it. Contact Apple to see about having it replaced under warranty.

  • Mac Book Pro won't wake when its been charging.

I have had this problem for some time now. When I charge my Mac Book Pro over night. The next time I use it, It won't wake up for sleep mode and I have to restart the computer. Was wondering if there has been problems with this too. If so is thier a fix for this. I'm running MacBook Pro (mid 2012) with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9).

This is a BUG in Mavericks and or the Mac hardware. It goes into Standby mode after an extended period of inactivity and then Crashes when trying to come out of Standby mode completely Hanging the system and making you have to Restart it.
There is quit a long thread on this subject.

  • My neighbour's Mac Book Pro shows up as discoverable when Bluetooth is turned on in my iPad Air.  How can I block her device?  How can I prevent her pairing with my iPad Air. I need Bluetooth on to play music over my system.

My neighbour's Mac Book Pro shows up as discoverable in my Bluetooth list on my iPad Air.  How can I block her Bluetooth device? How can I prevent her pairing with my device?  I need Bluetooth to stream music on my Bose system.  Thanks!

If your device is discoverable, the other BT device would try (I am not sure if that would be successful). If it was, it would appear in your system preferences>Bluetooth.
Take a look at this re: security:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH10786
This is from another Apple article:
    Use Bluetooth
You can wirelessly transfer files between computers—even Mac to PC—using the Bluetooth File Exchange utility. You can even browse selected devices and retrieve files remotely. For extra security, you can stipulate that only trusted devices be allowed to connect to your Mac, and 128-bit over-the-air encryption is also available

P.S. Since I have not had the issue, I have not researched this before. Thank you for making me look into BT security

    Many thanks lllaass,
The Touch Copy third party software for PC's is the way to go it seems and although the demo is free, if you have over 100 songs then it costs £15 to buy the software which seems not a lot to pay for peace of mind. and restoring your iTunes library back to how it was.
