Mac book pro update os x 10.5.8

Hoe kan ik mijn mac book pro 10.5.8 updaten en waarmee?

Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
     Snow Leopard General Requirements
       1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
       2. 1GB of memory
       3. 5GB of available disk space
       4. DVD drive for installation
       5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
           fees may apply.
       6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
           terms apply.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Lion, or Mountain Lion installed. Purchase and download Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
     OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
         1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
         2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
             Model Identifier 5,1 or later
         3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
         4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
         5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
         6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
         7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
     Lion System Requirements
       1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
           or Xeon processor
       2. 2GB of memory
       3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
       4. 7GB of available space
       5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

I ahve switched the computer off and have had it off for a longer period of time.
All sstill no camera. It seems that everything points to that the camera is there but does not want to funtion in relataion to anything.
    What to do or try?
As I am heading for China end of the week, it would really be great to have this skype working so I can check in with my kids whilst I am gone.

  • Mac book pro update - blank screen - still going or not?

    Hi,
I (extremely stupidly) set my Mac book pro to go ahead with about 4GB worth of system updates without backing up the machine first. It's about 1.5 hrs in, the screen has been black for the entire time but the fans are still going.
I'm not sure what to do - leave it go and see what happens?  Is there a way to cancel it and pretend I didn't push 'go'?

Anyone? Please, I'm stressing a bit. Probably deserve it. Silly!  Can anyone suggest if its maybe still doing its thing?

How long will it take to install the update? Because my mac has been isntalling the update for more than an hour now, and nothing is happening.

It all depends upon the size of the update and the type and speed of your connection..  Please supply more details if addtional information if desired.
    Ciao.

  • Mac Book Pro update stuck on loader bar

Last night I choose to update my MacBook Pro to the latest OS. I left it running overnight. 12 hours later and its only at 50% on the progress bar of the installing software update screen and it appears to have made no progress in the last serveral hours.
What should I do? How much longer should I wait?

Press and hold down the Power button until the computer turns off. The update is frozen. Check to see if you can restart the computer.

.. and by the way, the jump from FCP 6.0.3 to FCP 7.0 (or higher) isn't an "update"  It's a full version "upgrade" that has to be done using the install discs (or disc images).

my MAc Book PRO 13" Retina display will not update.  It crashes every time I try to do an update.  I have sent in the information on each update but so far nothing back from Apple.  Also it does not matter what I am trying to update, the operating system, and application, each caused the same crash.   This mac book is less than a month old.

That is the highest you will be able to go with 3g. You need 3gs or 4 to go any higher (multi processors and more memory needed).  Version 4.2.1 marks the end of your updates for that device.

N.B. I'M not exactly sure the operating system is "Mac OS X v10.7.x". However, I do know for sure it's Mac OS X v10.7.4

    Hello
I have my old mac book pro and I cant update it.

  • I got a Mac Book Pro from my company, and I can't update the apps because they are registered to another Apple ID.  Is there a way to change this so I can update my Apps?

As it says, I got a Mac Book Pro from my company and I would like to update the apps on it.  They are registered to a former employee's Apple ID, is there anyway for me to change it to my Apple ID?  Or do all of the Apps need to be re-purchased?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You must repurchase the applications because you can't transfer programs from an Apple ID to another one

I have an Apple iphone 4s and for the last 4 weeks I cannot download or update any apps. I have an iPad and a Mac book pro and the apps download on these devices fine. My phone tells me that I have 12 updates but when I press update all or update any individually nothing happens at all. It also does not ask me for my password any more but my iPad and mac book do.
I have signed in and out of the app store and the password is correct. I have tried both kinds of reboot but that did nothing. I have tried to update the apps by connecting phone to Mac book pro...it shows the apps being download on the Mac book and says it will sync them to my phone but it does not. Everything else on my phone works fine.
    Any ideas ...Please!

Thank you, this has resolved both the iphone and ipad problem immediately.  I am concerned that I may have a problem with apps that I bought under my old  AppleID as they will not be recognised.  Any suggestions for this please?
