Mac Book Pro wont turn on after 3 wks on no use

I last used my mac about 3 wks ago and did not shut down, just closed it with applications still open. The battery run out obviously and when I tried it this morning after connecting the power cable, it came on with all the applications open, but not responding. So I force quit all the different applications one by one, and then shut down. But when I started it up again, it would not open up - was very slow to open up my sign on page and respond to my password. So I shut down again and now I cant get past the apple log and the spinning gear, even in safe boot.
Please help.

When you press on the external battery level button, what happens?

Mac Booki Pro wont turn on, just endlessly tries to churn empty disk drive

My 2007 November purchased Mac Book Pro now refuses to start up. Pressing the power button, on full battery and power adapter connected, causes the disk drive to give an operating noise - same as on normal startup - again and again. The machine gets stuck in this mode, disk trrying to do something until I stop it by pressing the start button long enough.
I have tried the power management unit reset, by removing battery and adapter and pressing power button for 5 seconds. No difference.
I have tried the forced disk eject by holding trackpad/mouse button depressed while starting up. In this mode the sound from teh disk drive is different, but the repeat continues and nothing happens.
I have tried holding the cmd/opt/r/p buttons down on startup, makes no difference whatsoever.
Any advice/ideas - or it it a repair service matter....

When using file vault, every-time you go to restart or shut down it needs to recover disk space, which can take some time.

Correction:
When I turn MacBook pro 13 on sound play and fans run at full speed but it turns off after few seconds.
- MacBook does not work on batery - evenif i disconect batery - no result
- I try with diferent power adapter - no result.

It worked perfectly but when I (or actually my friend) plugged the jack into the wall outlet it came a small flash (in the wall outlet) and then it didn't start up. No sound, no light on the screen. I can't help you until you answer the questions I asked. If you want to reinstall Snow Leopard then follow these instructions:
Downgrade Lion to Snow Leopard
1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups, do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions. If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion files.

Mac book pro wont run apple hardware test

I have several problems with my Mac book Pro. Problems started so that I couldn't sign in to my account, three other account worked quite normally. I did run disk utility to fix problems that there was. That didn´t fix account problem. Then I tried to install SnowLeopard again, but it hangs after a while.
Hardware test programs starts and immediatelly after that computer shuts power off.
Here is the problem from installer.log (at least I think that here is the problem) But I can not say, what causes the problem

I wonder if it a permission issue?
Maybe chmod 777 the correct files would help
Not sure which files but you did have an error which says it cant write due to being read on. Are you the admin of the laptop and are able to mod all the files?
I could be wrong but just an idea.
Have you also tried to re-download the OS you are trying to install in case it is corrupt?
