Mac/Browswer crashes when watching videos online (flash/silverlight)
Hi,
I've had this problem for a little while, and I'm not sure what exactly it is. Sometimes when I view a video online, whether it's Flash or Silverlight, Hulu or Netflix, the video will crash. Sometimes it's just the video, other times it's the browser, and other time it's my Mac. I've tried this on Chrome, Firefox and Safari, and it happens on all three. I thought it might be a video card issue, but I can play that are on a drive fine, and it doesn't happen when I'm editing video with Adobe Premiere.
Any suggestions?

My mac keeps crashing while watching video online
I am new to using a Mac, but it keeps crashing while watching online video (netflicks, espn ect.) while on battery power. Battery
power is sufficient when this happens. I cannot restart until I plug back into power. Any advice would be appreciated.Try using Disk Utility to do a Disk Repair, as shown in this link, while booted up on your install disk. You could have some directory corruption. Let us know what errors Disk Utility reports and if DU was able to repair them.
Disk Utility's Disk Repair is not perfect and may not find or repair all directory issues. A stronger utility may be required to finish the job.
After that Repair Permissions. No need to report Permissions errors....we all get them.

Sound through hdmi to my tv works but not when watching video online like 4OD
the sound through hdmi to my tv works with music and videos I have downloaded, but not when watching video online like 4OD and youtube.
How can I get it to work?Ok so I happened to figure it out while on the phone to apple support. Even though the guy was very nice, I think I knew more than him! He was explaining very basic resolution principles I played about. I had the second option in displays resolution. All I did was unplug the HDMI cable, click on 'best for display' then plugged the HDMI in and my resolution on the normal monitor changed to the normal blue, then went black momentarily and then changed to a strange resolution but another window appeared that said SONY BRAVIA HDMI at the top! Hey presto! Don't know why it didn't do it yesterday - I probably left the HDMI cable in or something! Oh well. Problem solved!

Mac Mini crashes when watching a video online
I have a Mac Mini Model (2,1) with Mac OS X (10.6.2).
Environment:
I use my mac mini as an HTPC. I use a DVI to HDMI converter to connect to a 1080p projector. I use WIRED connection to connect to internet. The sound output is connected to my receiver.
Problem Description:
Recently, I have been experiencing system freeze and unexpected reboots while watching videos online. So I decided to do a fresh install of Snow Leopard. For about 5 days, the system worked fine and I was able to watch videos through YouTube, NBC, FOX etc.. The system started crashing again and the following is what i see in the CONSOLE.log file
* launchd[1] has started up *
(com.apple.Kerberos.renew.plist[100]) Exited with ext code: 1
Can someone help...
Thanks
KrisOur 1 year old mini also crashed trying to watch a tv show from the internet - after about 5 minutes of the show it started automatically rebooting over and over again (10 + times). Now I can't get it to start up at all. We use this with our HDTV as an entertainment machine

Macbook Pro keeps restarting when watching videos online
My Mid 2011 13in, 500GB HD, 16GB Ram Macbook Pro keeps restarting whenever I'm watching videos online be it Youtube, or Xfinity or anyother video site. Browsing online works fine, nothing happens. I also watched a movie I had on my harddrive and that worked fine as well. The problem is with online video. I even tried it on both Chrome and Safari and I still get the same result. This started about 3 days ago now my Macbook restarts around 8-10 times a day. It has become a constant hassle that I had no issues with before. After it restarts it leaves a Kernel Panic Report reading: Can anyone help me figure out what the problem might be? Please and thank you.

The panic log indicates a hardware fault, probably in the mass-storage subsystem.
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider. You may have to leave the machine there for several days.
Print the first page of the panic report and bring it with you.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional — ask if you need guidance.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair

Screen Crashes when watching videos/playing games
I got my macbook pro retina 15" January 2013, and ever since it has been fine. However, recently I've been getting crashes when I've been watching videos or playing league of legends. What happens is the screen goes completely dark and the keyboard is pretty unresponsive. I try to force shut down but it usually doesn't let me until a couple minutes. I believe the screen is crashed because when I hit some buttons it gives out a kind of error sound. After about a couple minutes of holding the power button down, it finally lets me restart. It doesn't always happen but has been happening a lot recently. For example, I was watching a stream, and about a few minutes into the stream it happened, then I restarted and turned on the stream again, where it crashed after a minute or so. When I play league of legends, it crashes when I initiate a battle, so I'm assuming this is because those parts require more graphics card usage or something related. What information (maybe logs) would be useful in debugging this?
here is a recent crash report -

Screen goes green and crashes when watching videos
While watching videos, my video keeps crashing and the screen is going green. The sound is also not working, does anyone know hot to fix it, or will I have to book an appointment with the genius bar

Mac crashes when watching videos. What's going on?
About two days ago I was watching an instant movie on Netflix. Ten to fifteen minutes into the movie my entire Mac froze. I restarted my computer and then tried to watch the movie again. And after a while my computer completely froze like it did last time - only this time it made these really AWFUL repeated screeching noises. I freaked, restarted the computer, shut it down, and unplugged it. (I was terrified it was going to catch on fire or something ridiculous, haha.) The next day I got on and did usual things: listened to music, surfed the web, etc. Then I started watching a YouTube video and without freezing or making the noises my computer went black then simply restarted itself. I can't videochat or do anything with videos without my Mac restarting itself now.
So what the heck is going on? I'm not a huge computer person, but I do know my way around pretty well. My dad can build a PC from scratch, but doesn't know a thing about Macs. He thinks it may have something to do with the video card, but I honestly have no idea. I believe we got my iMac in 2006. It's Mac OS X version 10.5.8. Over the summer I updated it from Tiger to Leopard. I'm not sure what sort of information to post but if you post telling me what I need to show to you I will.
Thanks for reading my ridiculously long postI'm not sure you'd want to use the backup from your other Mac, because to do so you'd have to erase that drive. If it's big enough, after erasing, you could create two partitions, one for each Mac.
Cloning a drive for the first time, however, can take some time and it might not make it through all the way. In that case, you'd have lost the data from the other Mac for nothing. So, this is kind of a rock and a hard place thing right now.
If you've backed up your important stuff, then, if you determine the drive is failing, you can move that back over after you have a new drive installed. (I don't think your iMac is that easy as a DIY project. But depends on your skills.)
To get an idea what's involved, you could take a look at these excellent, illustrated instructions. You can find your model here. The EMC # is located under the foot of the mac.
http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Browse/iMac
For cloning. I use Carbon Copy Cloner, freeware. It's very popular, easy to use and highly recommended. There are other ones out there, such as superduper, and tri-backup (this one not free.)
http://www.bombich.com/
Once you get this sorted out, you definitely don't want to be without an external, bootable clone.

EDIT: You could open up Console in Applications>Utilities. In System Log, see what kind of entries there are just before these events, and just after booting up again. There might be some clues there as to just what is going on. I'm not great at reading these, but you could post parts of these logs. Might be able to tell if it's heat related.

I have: Firefox v. 7.0.1, Silverlight v. 4, Vista Home Premium/Service Pack 2, and Norton 360.
(FYI: I also keep updated versions of ADOBE flash, reader, etc., Apple (itunes, Quicktime) & JAVA.)Hi Chris,
Thanks for getting back to me on this. It's been very frustrating recently because I've got mad deadlines to meet. Sorry, I should have stuck a 'my' in the subject title! I know CS5 is powerful and relatively bug free.
So the report I pated above was from the dialog box that pops up after the crash. Do you need more specific info about my video card? I've pated that info below.
So what do you think, how do I start to fix this?

Why does ma older apple laptop cancel Safari when I a m watching videos online? Also,I used to be able to run Firefox but now message states "can't use with this operating system"?
You can't use Firefox, because your operating system, OS X, is a version 10.4 or earlier.
Firefox "upgraded" its Mac compatible version, so that it will only operate with OS 10.6 or later.
Your Safari also might quit, because it too has an upgraded version with greater stability geared toward 10.4 and later. Perhaps you are using system 10.3 or earlier.
It is also possible that Safari quits, because the video sites you watch have changed to be compatible with newer browser versions with later Flash Player compatibility, like Adobe.
It is difficult to find browser compatibility or stability for earlier than 10.4.
What the above post is showing is in the drop down menu in the upper left of your screen. Click on the blue Apple for its drop down menu. Click on the first in the list, About This Mac. That's where you'll see the version as shown in the previous post.
If you upgraded your Safari, even that could be a problem, because it might not work as well with your older operating system. I haven't tried the following link, but it offers the Safari versions that fit each system. You can try downloading the one that matches yours. If that doesn't work, you can always upgrade again.

Why my notebook sometimes blacks out, in windows 7, when I watch video online or just browse some web pages which contains quite a lot pictures?
1. I am not sure whether it is the problem of the graphic hardware, relevant softwares or the system itself.
2. I am not sure whether browsing a webpage with a lot pictures would make the graphic hardware, or other hardwares if possible, massively burdened and then just crash.
3. Or if possible, is the reason that the heat dissipation doesn't work well?
I am looking forward to any replies that might be helpful. Really appreciated.it could be heat, not enough RAM, but you don't tell us enough.
There is no reason to assume this is anything other than running Windows natively btw.
Browser of course matters probably the most.
I like IE10 now, but use to use FF until recently. I'd like Chrome except for a few concerns I have over using it, it can eat up a lot of RAM and it builds up HUGE disk cache if you don't clear history and cache on exit and run CCleaner regularly ( good for all browsers )
So assuming 64-bit and 4GB or more and core i5 or better...
Also make sure Wiindow has 10GB of free space or more.
Biggest concern is what happens afterwards and whether you have run a check of your hard drive (chkdsk on startup) or if the problem cascades and gets progressively worse on top of the first - like do you have to do hard restart or able to bring up Task Mgr and kill or better yet, Resource Mgr and see if you have any thread locks.
Safari is not well versed in multithreading and handling what you want to do and are doing. IE9 isi usually good but I found it could not handle a lot of tumblr photo streams and sites. Try Chrome. With Firefox, use noscript, blashblock and see how it goes. -
Can't watch videos online... Do I need some flash player?
Can't watch videos online... Do I need some flash player?
There is no flash player for the iPad, it's not supported.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store. -
