MAC Camera on 2013 MAC not working with Jabber 4.X

The newest 2013 model Mac Camera's aren't working with Jabber desktop video - camera not recognized - have tried up to version 4.6. The new models change how the built in isight appears to the hardware. it no longer shows up as a device on the USB device bus as the older ones did. Anyone have any inof or a fix for this?

This appears to be a problem where the built in camera is now using the PCIe bus and the software not finding it. So far I have not found a work around, but it should be fixed in 4.7 according to Jason Hirdler and no ETA has been provided at this time. Unplug and plug in back the camera does not solve this problem. I tried that before.
But what worked was to start photo booth. Don't really know why.
So after every restart of the mac I have to start photo booth and dictation with the QuickCam is working. ^^

Flip4 Mac Not working with QT7

Hi I just upgraded folks to the latest 13" Macbook with Snow Leopard and I have 'both' QT 10.0 and
QT 7 (pro) of course.
Well I downloaded Flip4Mac and it seems like it only activated QT player 10. to work and be able to play WMV files.
When I try to play a WMV file with my QT7 pro, I get a pop up saying 'Movie could not be opened, this is not a movie file!'
So how do I get Flip 4 mac to also activate my QT7 app?
I tried transferring it from the 'utilities' folder to directly into the Applications folder.
Still does not work, I tried re-installing Flip4mac.
Any ideas how I can get Flip4 mac to activate the QT7 Pro app, I have on my new 13" Macbook?
I want to use QT7 because I like to use the Pro editing capabilities.

Office for Mac not working with 10.5.8

I upgraded to Mac 10.5.8, but neither my 2004 Office for Mac not Acrobat 5.0 are functioning properly. Should I uninstall and reinstall or do I need to upgrade?

Safari 3 for Win and Mac not working with sites

I work for a company that does all the IT stuff for the county of San Diego, and it was brought to our attention that the County site (and some of the sites in it) don't play nice with Safari 3 on either platform. I downloaded the latest beta, plugged in http://www.sdcounty.ca.gov , and get a bunch of boxes at the top of the window.
The sites work fine in IE 5-7, Safari 2 and up, and Firefox. Someone on the ARStechnica forums mentioned they saw our servers (IIS and Unix/Apache) are set for uft-32. Okay, so does anyone know what we should have them set at so people (and our client) stop complaining we don't work with Safari Beta?

I'll look into it. We're going to change the test server to utf-8, but can't until the one guy who has admin access to the box gets back from training in about a week. Yes, they could have given admin or sudo access to a few of us, but that would have made too much sense.

Macbook Air camera not working with Jabber and Skype

New Macbook Air (2013) and the camera does not recognize Skype or Jabber (Cisco product). Unbelievable that Apple does this but any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

FIX:
1. You need Time Machine
2. Go to folder /Library/CoreMediaIO/Plug-Ins/DAL/
3. Copy AppleCamera.plugin to good place (usb memory stick is the best place).
4. Go to Time machine in date that skype work fine.
5. Change AppleCamera.plugin with file from Time Machine
6. Restart system, Now skype need to work with camera.

Ipad/Mac not working with Bose Soundlink after upgrade to Mountain Lion

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion, I can not play through my Bose Soundlink from my Mac and iPad? It finds the device via Bluetooth, connects, but will not play.Anyone else?

Try to reset the Soundlink. To do this just press the "mute" button for 10 seconds... when all indicators lights appears release the button and you are set.
Just try to connecto again.

Since I installed Lion, amazons Kindle app doesn't seem to be able to sync nor download ebooks. Soulution anyone?

As Josh said, this forum is for iPad questions and it appears you are asking about the Kindle app on Mac OS X. If that is indeed the case, then according to posts in Amazon's forums, this is a common problem for which there appears to be no solution at this time. Amazon will probably have to release an update to their Kindle for Mac application for Lion compatibility. Contact Amazon for more information.

Camera connective kit does not work with card reader

Can I only use my USB camer connective kit with my camera and not a card reader?

Which card reader? Are you using an SD card in it or some other form factor?
As long as you're targeting an SD card with photos or movies, it should work same as connecting to a camera....but in that case, there is really no need since the camera kit includes an SD reader.

Camera Raw 4.6 not working with D700

I have a PC with Windows XP Pro, 1 GB of RAM and Service Pack 2, Photoshop CS3 and the latest version of Camera Raw 4.6
When I open ACR, it does show that I am using Camera Raw 4.6 Beta version and it seems to work properly with my Nikon D200 NEF files.
However, when I try to see my Raw NEF files from a new Nikon D700 camera, the bridge DOES show the hi-res thumbnail images, but when I press Ctrl+R keys to open the image in ACR, absolutely nothing happens.
Now if I open Photoshop and then navigate to the exact same NEF file (that wouldn't respond to be opened in ACR,) it WILL open in ACR using the very same Camera Raw 4.6.
Any comments?

Can you tell me why my computer at my studio sees my D700 NEF files and it "only" has Camera Raw 4.5? The Nikon D700 is not listed as a camera that is supported on this version. I had to update my home computer to 4.6 to make it work. (or maybe I should have tried purging the cache on that computer before trying the Beta version 4.6). Looking back, my studio computer should not be able to see these NEF files.

Outlook 2013 search not working with public folders

To solve the issues in Outlook 2013, please follow these steps: -
In order to have the Instant Search feature for Public Folders behave the same as for your mailbox, the following conditions must be meet: -
Outlook must be configured to cache
Public Folder Favorites.
(and of course the caching and indexing must have been completed)
The
Public Folder must be marked as a Public Folder Favorite.
The search must be performed from within the
Favorites section of your Public Folders tree and not from its actual location within
All Public Folders.

My google talk account will not work with Jabber on iChat.

I have an iBook G4, I know I know. But when I try using my google account in iChat it just doesn't work. I have tried deleting it from the panel and re-entering it but I get the same result: 'Connection not connect to host xmpp.l.google.com'. Everything is on default. I have a feeling that it may be my wireless connection with my wireless modem, but that is just a hunch.
Any info that you need to help I will try to provide, just please help!

The Host is "wrong".
In OS x 10.5.8 you should have iChat 4.0.8 or 4.0.9 (it depends if you have done a particular Security Update and also where you look up the iChat details)
This means that in Adding a new Account In iChat Menu > Preferences > Accounts and clicking the + icon you should see several choices in the Drop down at the top item in the new pane that appears.
Above the line should be AIM, MobileMe and @mac.com
Below the line should be GoogleTalk and Jabber.
The reason GoogleTalk is separated like this is because Google do not conform to the Jabber Server naming method.
With all other Jabber server you create an [email protected]
So you would have [email protected] for example at Jabber Australia.
Your google ID could be [email protected] or username @gmail.com
Technically this could be two servers using the regular Jabber method.
GoogleTalk's server is talk.google.com
In iChat 3 when Jabber was added to iChat you had to set this manually.
From iChat 4 onwards the software sorted it for you.
Go to iChat menu > Preferences > Accounts
Highlight the Jabber/Google ID and then click the Server Settings tab
If you are logged out the text should be dark and editable.
Change the Server name to talk.google.com
Make sure SSL is enable and the port reads 5223
If in Doubt delete the Account (highlight and use the minus Button) and the re-add the account as GoogleTalk.
