Mac Dashboard Ink Widget

I have HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fn. Dashboard ink widget was working fine on my MacBook Pro 15" Early 2011. I recently upgraded to MacBook Pro 15" with Ratina Mid 2014 run Yosemite and migrated my data to my new Mac, Widget no longer communicate with the printer although printer is printing fine. Searching the forum suggested to reinstall. I deleted the old Widget and reinstalled version 12.34 printer drivers. Widget did not install. I saw no "Setup Assistance"  included. Even, when I used the "Setup Assistance" from my old Mac, it did not show the option of installing "Widget". Any help is much appreciated.

Hi @AhmedAttia
It is possible the software has changed and there is no longer a widget. What you can do is, check the Applications folder, look for the HP folder and if you find the Widget there you can create a short cut.
The older version was version 12.23, thus the issue could very well be the difference in software.
The migrated date would have been problematic because it is incompatible with 10.10.

  • Webpage not continually updating in widget on mac dashboard.

    Hi,
I used the 'File -> Open in Dashboard ...' feature in Safari to add a webpage to the dashboard so that I can keep my dashboard open on the server and monitor the webpage along with a few other items.
However the webpage is always being updated and I noticed that after awhile the webpage stops changing, and it's almost as if the widget goes to sleep. If I reconnect to the server and move my mouse, it seems to wake the webpage up again, however I don't want to have to keep 'waking' up the dashboard every few minutes during the day.
Is there anyway to keep the dashboard webpage widget from going to sleep? Are there any settings that will keep the widget active even if there has been no activity on the server for hours? Or does anyone have any recommendations for a different widget that doesn't exhibit this behavior?
    Thanks

Open in Dashboard has always been a little iffy, IMHO.  An alternative workaround to the one you described is to click on the widget window and hit command-r.

  • HP Ink Widget: No Data

Since updating to OS X 10.6.1 (possibly (10.6.0), +HP Ink Widget+ fails to show ink levels. The levels, however, can be properly shown via +HP Photosmart C7200+ icon on the dock.
I have tried trashing the dashboard plists (2) and reinstalling widget with no effect.
    Any suggestions?

I did reinstall the software from HP and the ink widget now shows the ink supply levels. But now my computer won't go into the sleep mode at the scheduled time if the printer power is on.

  • I am trying to convert a file from pdf. I can't see it after I hit convert to word and view converted files. How do I know if I have a subscription? Adobe is on my mac dashboard.

How do I tell if I have already paid for a membership? When I try to convert a pdf file to word, it looks like it is processing the task, but then I can't find the converted file when it says view converted file. Huh? Adobe is on my mac dashboard, I have had an account but can't see the results . . . thanks.

    Hi subscription question,
I've checked your account; it looks like you tried to place two separate orders this morning, but it doesn't appear that either went through. However, it does sound as though you've been able to convert a file successfully. What happens when you log in to your account at https://cloud.acrobat.com/files? Do you see your converted file there? All converted files are automatically stored in your online account, even when you convert from within Reader.
    Best,

  • Dashboard stocks widget

what is the time delay of the stocks rate reflected in the dashboard stocks widget. also, does the same answer apply to the stocks app in iphone?

    AceNeerav,
From memory my Stocks Widget says that the quotes are delayed by 20 minutes although having said that I note that even though the FTSE data is changing (ie, that market is open), the information line at the bottom says that "Markets closed (5:54 PM)" which I assume it to be referring to the Australian market given that I am in Western Australia. My iPhone Stocks app says "Quotes delayed 20 minutes" even though the Australian market (the one I have selected) is closed. Go figure.

  • Dashboard Movie Widget Date Update

Is there a way to update the date of the dashboard movie widget aside from restarting the computer? I wish it were smarter and knew what day it was.

Mine has not been working for a couple of months now.  I just noticed that this widget does not recognize any Canadian cities anymore.  It used to work no problem up till September.  Its really too bad as I like this widget a lot.  Hope Apple fixes this or if anyone else has any suggestions on how to.  Thanks.

  • Ink widget for P1606dn

How do I get a second ink widget for my LaserJet? My MacBook has widgets for the LaserJet and also my Photosmart 6520, but my iMac only has the widget for the 6520.

    Hi dlp1962uva,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand you would like a widget for the Laserjet on the IMac.
I will be happy to help you.
During the installation process, there is a small checkbox that is often overlooked that will allow the WIDGET to be installed. You could re-install  and look for the WIDGET check box, or check the Finder/Applications/Utilities/HP Folder and see if there is a separate install for the Ink Monitor/Widget.
HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn Printer Drivers.
Select the operating system and click next.
Click on Driver - Product Installation Software and download the drivers.
    Hope this helps.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • HT2492 ML Dashboard Calendar widget has lost the ability to change the date.

In ML the Dashboard calendar widget has lost the ability to change the day to other days. You can still navigate to different months with the arrow keys, but clicking on any day has no effect. I have not found a keystroke/mouse combination that allows the date to be changed from today's date.
This is a useful function for me, to quickly be able to see what I have scheduled on any day. Now I have to open iCal, which is annoying.

You are correct that there is no way to sort jobs in the print queue window in Snow Leopard. This is to be considered expected behavior. In other words, that's the way the software engineers intend it to work in Snow Leopard. You should provide Apple with feedback as to what you want. You can file a report at: _http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html_.

  • On the install of mavericks i have lost dashboard & my widget help.

on the install of mavericks i have lost dashboard & my widget help.

You may try this applescript program.
    log "  --- Starting on " & ((current date) as string) & " --- "
    -- percent
set volume output volume 35 without output muted
    Start the AppleScript Editor
    /Applications/AppleScript/Script Editor.app
In Snow Leopard it's at: /Applications/Utilities/AppleScript Editor
Copy the script text to the Applescript editor.
Save the text to a file as an application and do not check any of the boxes below.
If you want access to the script from your Script Menu, move the script (the saved script application file) to your
~/Library/Scripts folder. You can also drag it to your Dock or make an alias for it on the Desktop.<br><br>
To debug, run the script within the Applescript Editor. Click on the event log tab at the bottom of the window. Click  on the run icon.  The results from the log statement will be shown at the bottom of the screen.

  • Dashboard Clock Widget like iPhone Clock

I've had an iPhone for a couple of years, and this week I'm finally making the switch from PC to Mac. One of the really simple questions I have is where to find a clock widget for the dashboard that functions like the iPhone clock with time zone clocks, timer, and alarms. Everything I've managed to dig up so far is too bloated for simple daily tasks like quickly checking what time zone a client is in before calling. Is there anything out there someone can recommend that is as easy to use and straightforward as the iPhone clock app except for the dashboard?

Actually if you want to do a bit of tinkering you can change the clock face to ANY city town or village you likr just follow this link

  • Dashboard or widgets not saving settings

    Hi all,
Have owned a macbook retina for a few weeks and noticed recently the dashboard has been misbehaving.
    - the stickies dont keep the colour i set
    - sometimes the weather or stocks move to another location when logging in from a cold boot
    - some widgets dont keep their settings (ie F1 widget forgets which news feed I have selected)
    - tile game is reset on each restart
has anyone had similar issues, do you know any fixes?

Look for specific ones. You could drag the folder to the desktop and reboot to test. You can always put it back.

  • Dashboard default widgets MISSING after 10.8.4 update

Okay so, what's the deal here? I have like 5 of the default apple widgets on my dashboard, but the rest are gone. I have tried clearing the preferences folder, I have tried resetting my dashboard to default settings with another app. I don't know how to fix this....help please...

Look in the hard drive level Library/Widgets folder to see if they are there. Also check your user Library/Widgets.
Hold down the option key while using the Finder “Go To Folder” command. Enter ~/Library/Widgets.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
    http://osxdaily.com/2011/07/04/show-library-directory-in-mac-os-x-lion/
You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.4. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.
If the widgets aren't in either place, try restoring the 2 folders from a backup.

  • How do i back up Dashboard settings (widgets)?

    Hi,
i plan to write a simple unix script ("cp") to back up all my data to dvd. How do i back up my Dashboard widgets? i'm assuming they're all stored in a file or folder somewhere, and i'll be able to just "cp" this file or folder to the dvd device.
    thanks,
    js.
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Use a command such as:
    cp ~/Library/Widgets/ '/Volumes/volumename/Widgets/'
Replace volumename with the disk's actual name. To back up preinstalled widgets, omit the ~ at the beginning of the first path.

  • Dashboard forgets Widgets location

I only use four Widgets (Calendar, Clock, Post-it, Weather) but Dashboard is never able to remember where I but them: all aligned in a row. Each time I open Dashboard with the Widget Key on the Keyboard they open at random locations on the screen. I closed them all and put them back on the screen but the problem persists.
This problem didn't happen in Mac OS X 10.5.6. It's not a big issue, but it's annoying.

I would imagine that this has to do with file permissions–somewhere inside the ~/Library directory.
Please, create a new user and check if the same thing happens with the new user account.
