  • I recently purchased a 4S. I now have 2 files in my iCloud both with my name. One from my 3gs and one from my 4S. The problem is the data history of all my games and 3rd party apps did not transfer over to my 4S. Is there a way to merge the two in icloud?

I backed up my 3gs to the iCloud and when I synced my 4S, it did not transfer my game histories or my 3rd party app histories. When I look at my iCloud storage, it shows both phones under the same name. Is there a way to merge them together in iCloud? I tried adding the account to my 4S but since they are both named the same, it says I already have that account added! Help!!

Assuming you have finished with your old backup.....
You can see what your iCloud storage is used for and delete any unwanted content at settings > iCloud > backup & storage > manage......

  • IOS 4- App Store and 3rd Party Apps don't load

So I didn't have any problems with upgrading to iOS 4. The problems started when I tried to play with my apps such as Facebook and other games. They seem to stay in loading and nothing happens. I have turned of my phone multiple times and nothing seems to work. The App store also stays in a loading stage and nothing appears.
Is anyone having similar problems or know of any solutions?

OK. Here's the solution that worked for me. See my prior post on 22 June for background info.
After loading new apps and deleting and reloading existing apps to my iPhone via iTunes on my computer, the iPhone still would not run 3rd party apps. So I decided to start from scratch.
    PROCEDURE:
    1) Back up the iPhone.
    2) Click the restore button to take the iPhone back bare bones iOS 4 operation. It is not necessary to download iOS 4 again. Do NOT restore from back-up as control of the process to the greatest extent possible is the goal.
    3) Once the restore is complete, allow iTunes to configure the iPhone from the back-up.
    4) Check some or all 3rd party apps to verify function.
    5) Power down iPhone and restart it. Check some or all 3rd party apps to verify function again.
6)Load music and video (I manage mine manually)
This worked for me. Hope it works for you too.
I am most certainly not an expert. I just decided to try an approach I thought the Apple Genius's might suggest.
    Good luck!

  • New iMac Mountain Lion and 3rd party apps

Todays date is March 31, 2013.
If I were to buy a brand new iMac with Mountain Lion will I have any 3rd party Apps problems?
Mountain Lion significantly damaged my current computer and they are blaming it all on 3rd party apps, so I wonder if it is gonna continue with a brand new iMac computer?

Maybe my question was worded incorrectly. The question is not about my current computer, but about the new iMac being sold today.
Suppose I buy a brand new iMac today and tomorrow I decide to install new software that claim to be compatible with ML, is there a chance that this software might not truely be compatible with ML? If the answer is "Yes" then why bother buying another iMac?
Software sold on App Store -  are there software there that do not work with ML? It really makes me wonder what the heck is going on these days.
To petermac87 - I had MacKeeper on my computer twice and both times I had to get rid of it, not sure if this software was causing problems or not, but it sure as heck did not solve any of my problems.
Hi Keith, no I understand what you are doing. You need to be careful with some third party programs. MacKeeper, as you have found, is a very destructive program, despite all their claims. It has ground some users Macs almost to a halt.
Most software from the App store and reputable developers such as Adobe, Roxio, etc. are well up to date. In fact, most software in the AppStore is Mountain Lion compatable. You will not find the dodgy Apps such as MacKeeper there. You need to remember that less is better when it comes to Macs. Your iMac does not need a swag of maintenance toolsas some people decide thry need. Clean My Mac, Anti-Virus programs, Novelty Apps etc. are unnecessary and will cause you nothing but problems.
Apps such as iPhoto, iTunes etc.are made to intergrate with the Mac OS and are therefore safe and reliable, but once you add something such as MacKeeper or Intego Security, then it most likely will cause conflicts.
So basically what I am saying is do not fill your iMac with a whole pile of unnecessary crapapps which will slow it down, cause conflict, etc. There are plenty of reliable Apps out there to do what you want. If the reviews are a little confusing, then please don't hesitate to drop back here and ask.
And of course backup your system from Day 1 so you can always return it to a working state it you do by chance install something that causes problems and you can't uninstall.
    Good Luck

  • ITunes Match and 3rd Party Apps - iPad/iPhone

With the myriad of apps out there that integrate with iTunes, why is it that nearly none of them offer support for iTunes Match? (And, a seemingly cool one that claims to offer support -- "BeatBlaster" -- http://www.beatblaster.com/ -- that has all the features I'm looking for, isn't available in the App Store in the US).  I'm really surprised at the lack of information on this topic on the web... A Google search for it only pulls up articles that are 2-3 years old.   The best information I could find was that the API toolset made available to developers is either really limited, or it's just not available at all... and that's in an article from 2011.  Are you telling me that Apple is STILL -- 3+ years later -- limiting access to developer tools for iTunes Match integration (or just has never created any)?  I understand that I'm asking about something that could be considered "outside" of Apple (3rd Party apps), but I'm just really looking for someone that might be in the know on this stuff... And, I'm hoping that that person can clue the rest of us in on "what's up".
Bottom line, I'm looking for a clock radio app that supports iTunes Match... I've got our Master Bedroom and Bath rigged up with in-ceiling speakers, attached to a bluetooth receiver, with a wall-mounted iPad serving as the "jukebox".  When my dang iPad doesn't drop the WiFi connection, it's pretty slick. I'd just like to have a single app that a) offers a large, well-visible clock, b) allows me to browse my iTunes Match library of songs and play them as I'd like, and c) have a "play my iTunes music as an alarm" option.  I know... directly d/l-ing songs to the iPad is an option, but it defeats the whole purpose of iTunes Match, which I subscribe to because my music library is WAY too big to fit on the iPad (or my iPhone).
Anyway, any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You'll have to ask the software makers this question. It is up to the 3rd party vendors, not Apple, to provide the features you are asking for.

  • Loss of Music and Video and 3rd party apps not working on 3G

I've had to restore my 3G iphone about 10x now. The phone keeps "losing" my music and video, and then the 3rd party apps don't work. A reset does not help, I have to restore my phone and set it up as a new phone each time. I went to the Genius Bar, they gave me a new phone, but said it was likely a software issue. Has anyone else run into this? Is there a way to fix it? I waste like 2 hours re-syncing my phone every time this happens. I'm so disappointed with this iPhone 3G...I wish I hadn't sold my original iPhone and could switch back to that. Please, any help that anyone can offer would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you for replying. Did try this again, and then another recovery (holding down 2 buttons 'til Apple icon) but no luck.

  • Netweaver Mobile 7.1 Data Orchestration Engine and 3rd party apps...

    Folks,
I have a third party mobile app that just won't go away (pun intended).
I will have a XMAM AND a 3rd Party App on 1 mobile device x's 1000's of devices.
Can I use Netweaver 7.1 DOE to synchronize my devices 3rd party app? I will have to develop new Business Objects of course.
    CP

    Hi Christopher,
you can use Netweaver Mobile 7.1 to download and deploy so-called mobile components. These mobile components will be always installed into the NW client container. In principle it is possible to create "client installers" which allows you writing a xml script containing installation commands. But as far as I know these commands are restricted to things like copying, deleting, file modification etc. Instaling a CAB-file for example will not be possible. And I guess this is what you are looking for, right?
In case, you want to deploy 3rd party apps written for Netweaver Mobile 7.1, deployment is definitely possible. You will create your app as mobile components containing business logic, data objects and UI in the designtime. These components you can remotely deploy through the DOE.
I hope this answer is helpfull for you. In case you have more questions, let me know.
    Regards,
    Stefan

  • Apple and 3rd party apps?

    Hey,
Been seeing links to 3rd party apps. Know "anyone" who has loaded and used these? What does this do to the apple waranty?
    -Dooki

If not provided/authorized or approved by Apple, this can potentially void the warranty if such 3rd party apps cause any problems or damage that requires a repair.

  • Jailbreak and 3rd party apps

    Hi,
I just a new iphone last week and I was showing to a friend who had one too. He had all these other buttons, could change the background, play games offline, and tons of cool stuff. He said I need to get jailbreak for my phone and that apple won't brick my phone if I install it.
Where can I get jailbreak to install all this cool stuff? Will it brick my phone?
    Thanks.
    Lisa

There is a potential to brick your phone if you jailbreak it. Most users here are going to reccomend against it. It will void your warranty, and Apple wont help you should something go wrong.

  • Uninstall 3rd party apps

How do you uninstall third party applications?

From the iPhone, press and hold any icon on the home screen for 3 seconds or so where the app you want to delete is located. All icons will start to wiggle. You can move/position apps where you like at this point, and 3rd party apps will have an X on the icon. Select the X to delete the app with a confirmation that must be approved. Select the home button when finished.
With iTunes, choose selected applications under the Applications tab for your iPhone sync preferences. Deselect the application you want to delete from your iPhone in the window below followed by a sync. To reinstall the app, select the app in the window below followed by a sync.
All this info is included with the iPhone's user guide which can be downloaded by your computer as a PDF file, and is also available on your iPhone as a Safari bookmark.

    Mike,
If by "still nothing" you mean they are not showing up in the AU manager after reinstalling them....
Im guessing the AU Cache itself is now corrupted so.....
    Quit LPX
    Open Finder
Press the option key and click "Go" in Finder's menu and select "Library". (This is the User Library and not the System Library and is normally hidden which is why you have to hold down the option key when clicking on Go.... to reveal it in the drop down menu that will appear)
Go to "Caches" dir and remove "AudioUnitCache" dir.
    Now Restart your Mac.....
and then Launch LPX and let it rescan your plugins and see if that fixes things....
    Fingers crossed...

  • ALL of my 3rd party apps open and close immediately

after connecting to itunes after a few months now ALL of my 3rd party apps open and close immidiately when i try to open them

First try a hard reset.  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.  If that doesn't help, try downloading a new App free app from the app store to see if that helps.

  • SCCM Software Updates (and SCUP) vs. Application Management for 3rd Party Application Patching

    Hi,
We're getting ready to tackle the phenomena known as Java patching, and I was wondering if I could get your personal preference; SCCM Software Updates (and SCUP) vs. Application Management for 3rd Party Application Patching?
I probably should give a little background on my environment; It's a university atmosphere, so unless it's policy, you have to ask nicely...can't tell people to do things they don't want to; multiple version of required versions of Java for what ever reason,
which need to be identified, grouped together, and then upgrade as much as possible without breaking their old applications.
I was thinking that Application Management probably made more sense where it is more robust, especially for removing multiple installs of Java on a single system, but Software Updates/SCUP looks like it was built for this type of patching, so I'm a bit confused
why SCCM would have two components which essentially did the same thing.
    Your thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Bill

For Java version management specifically you can already achieve a lot by using the Application Model in CM12.
You can define supersedence between the different versions, just make sure to opt for uninstall of the older version when defining it.
