Mac doesn't open

Hello guys i have a problem.i was working on my mac(mavericks) and it was''stucked''after while and then i tried to turn it off but i couldnt.so i turned it off using power button.when i tried to open it again,it makes the sturt up button,shows the grey start up desktop,it shows me that it tries to open but it doesnt.:(
what shouild i do?

Thanks Phil0124. I was able to mount the ISO onto the DVD from my disk utility but now I face another problem. Bootcamp recognized the disc and started to install Windows, but stopped and gave me the following error message: "your disc could not be partitioned An error occurred while partitioning the disk".

I just updated to itunes 10.4.1 and now my mac doesn't open itunes

and it keeps saying install failed, run preupgrade script for applemobiledevicesupport. contact the software manufacturer for spport. ahh help!

For those who run across this therad and haven't taken the effort to make a backup here is another approach that should work.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Hallo! I can't open the Compressor. Last week I installed Mavericks - could this be the reason?
I tried to install it again, but my Mac doesn't open the zip-file too because I should buy a programm for that... I always thought it should work without...

What zip file? Comnpressor and Final Cut Pro are direct downloads from the App Store. You should log into the App Store with the Apple ID used to purchase the software and redownload directly from the store.

    * Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
minimum system requirements
    * 512MB of memory (I say 1.5GB for PPC at least, 2-3GB minimum for IntelMacs)
    * DVD drive for installation
    * 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
Classic/OS9 Apps no longer supported.
Trouble is Apple no longer sells it, check eBay & such for the Retail version, not the Gray Discs...

This only started after I upgraded my OS to Yosemite.

The upgrade has been know to break Photoshop CS5 installs. An Uninstall/Reinstall may be necessary.

How to open an existing Pages document?
Click Pages icon in the Dock to launch Pages.
When Pages is open, click File menu in the Pages menu bar.
Select “Open”.

Yes...at least I thought it was....I have 10.6.8.
That's the whole issue. I want to run/install photoshop elements but I have to have 10.8. for that. So...be fore I install an upgrade (Yosemite is getting BAD press) I thought I'd check my back up...it's not there...I have the seagate plugged in and the usb into the back of the mac...when I try to turn the time machine "ON" it says airport device not found not ....
By the way...I REALLY appreciate the help here....

Install the v10.6.7 combo update available here.
It's ok to do this even if you are already running v10.6.7.
Restart your Mac after the combo is installed.
Then try the MAS.

The D610 didn't get out-of-the-box RAW support until Photoshop CC.
You can either upgrade to CC or use the DNG Converter to convert and open your DNGs in CS5.

I have followed the other discussions and done the suggested updates or deletes and to no avail.
Unless you tell us exactly what you have tried, we have no way of knowing exactly which updates or deletes? aren't working for you.
Try installing the combo > Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo

For your addressbook, export the files to vCard on the PowerMac, then bring them over to your Mac Pro. For your iPhoto, copy the Users -> yourname -> Pictures folder to your Desktop on the Mac Pro, and open iPhoto on the Mac Pro holding the command and option keys. Select the library file from that Pictures folder and open it. It should import all the pictures into iPhoto as part of the rebuild process. Mac doesn't recognize shuffle and opening iTunes with Shuffle crashes Mac

I recently updated to iTunes 7. Now my Mac doesn't recognize my year old shuffle when I plug it in, and when I open iTunes it freezes the Mac.

I have been monitoring this forum on and off for weeks looking for a solution for my shuffle disfunction and this appears to be it.
My shuffle would play songs and recharge on my iMac but would not be recognized by iMac by any of the expected means. This problem started after updating to iTunes 7. Tried uninstalling 7, and any of the other suggestions here that could work with out communication between iMac and shuffle, since the shuffle would not link to the computer.
I had resigned myself to a shuffle that played only the songs currently loaded until it finally died. But, using the 06-06-28 updater worked for me as well, although it was a bit of a quirky process. Once launched, the updater immediately recognized my shuffle (first sign of life in weeks). When I chose the update button, it ran through an update but said there was an error after finishing and that I should disconnect, re-connect, and try again.
Just disconnecting the shuffle mad the updater crash. I had to restart my mac, but when restarted my shuffle launched itunes and there it was. It appears to be fully functional again and I jut cancel when it says there is an update available for my iPod.

Thanks Morbus.. I hadn't noticed that but it was already set at Mac. I tried it again and it worked this time... but alas my main problem persists:
My back and forward buttons don't work in Firefox and I've lost all of my bookmarks! I've tried a few of the suggestions but without success at the moment.
Particularly unhelpful are the instructions to back-up your lost bookmarks - which I can't do cos they're lost!!
