MAC Elements 12 Organizer frequent crashes

Organizer faces a lot of crashes even when not action on the keyboard or the mouse making it unusable !

I am going to tryŠ
You know the following points. When a new photo is added into the library,
usually, the automatic recognition opens the following window:
Suggested, from the database, Organizer provides 3 names which could be
applied (or not) to the selected face.
Sometime there is only one suggestion as below
For both situations, if the suggestion is not a right name, it is possible
to swap it with a new one or another one already in the the database.
That is the nice stage of the process for 4 or 5 inputs (it is not always
the same number of items). After several inputs, Organizer no longer takes
in account name dialed on the keyboard or suggested in both windows as upper
displayed, neither using the left click of the mouse nor the « Enter » key
of the keyboard. It is impossible to enter a name.
And at this step of the issue, for an unknown face, if I want to cancel the
window clicking in the upper right cross, the cancelation becomes
impossible, the window stays on the face.
Solution is to close Organizer and to start it again
But, in case of no automatic window, if we use the Manual recognition tool
window, it always works (enter a name is always possible).
Not easy to explain, I hope I was clear.
Rgds.

  • Photoshop Elements Organizer 11 crashes due to deadlock in the thread wait chain when creating thumbnails for *.mts (AVCHD) files

    Hi,
the Elements Organizer 11 creates a deadlock in the wait chain when generating thumbnails for more than a handful of MTS (AVCHD) files.
After importing AVCHD files from my Canon video camera, the organizer using default settings always crashes. I was able to narrow down the problem to be caused by thumbnail generating.
After deactivating the automatic generation of thumbnails, the organizer does not crash any more upon launching .
Of course, working without thumbnails is not very practical. The next resort is manual trigger of thumbnail generation by selecting "update thumbnail".
If I manually trigger updating of thumbnails for files one by one, then it works for quite many files before crashing again.
Selecting thumbnail update for multiple files at once has a much higher likelihood to crash.
This does not seem to be related to particular file contents: a file that leads to crashing once may be flawlessly get a thumbnail created at the next attempt.
The Windows event report looks as follows (German language Windows):
Name der fehlerhaften Anwendung: PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe, Version: 11.0.0.0, Zeitstempel: 0x505e9f67
Name des fehlerhaften Moduls: msvcrt.dll, Version: 7.0.9600.16384, Zeitstempel: 0x52158ff5

Occasionally, a different module is listed as erroneous instead of msvcrt.dll.
    My questions:
    - has anyone experienced the same problem?
    - is this a known issue with Organizer 11?
    - is the issue solved with Organizer 12?
I have Premiere Elements 11, Photoshop Elements 11 installed and not experienced any other issues with these applications.
Playback of said AVCHD (*.mts) files works flawlessly, i.e. I do not have any codec or performance issue on my PC.
Deactivation of anti-virus software has no significant effect. I have excluded video directories from scanning anyways.
Have deactivated face recognition, visual search and smart tagging in the organizer.
Have also disabled hyperthreading in the BIOS.
Using Windows XP compatibility settings for PSE somewhat improved the stability, but did not completely eliminate crashes.
Additionally, it signnificantly slows down thumbnail generation and a progress indication window becomes visible during thumbnail generation, which is barely noticable in native Win 8.1 mode.
Officially, Elements 11 is compatible with Windows 8.1.
There is a knowledgebase article related to Elements 6, which recommends to disable multi-threading and to enforce execution of Organizer on more than one core.
This reduces the problem a little bit, but thumbnailing more than a handful of files still leads to crashing.
By means of the task manager, I analyzed the wait chain of the process PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe:
Every time the fault occurs, it is caused by a deadlock in the wait chain.
    For example:
    PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe (PID:6440) Thread: 6540
    -- PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe (PID:6440) Thread: 5932
    ---- PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe (PID:6440) Thread: 6540

  • Elements Organizer v9 crashes whenever I try to mark a face / face detecion also does not work

    Hi,
I face the following probem: My Elements Organizer software always crashes whenever I try to mark a face in a picture. Furthermore, face detection does not work. The function regularly gives as a result that it couldn't find a person. Even if the autoanalyizer already marked faces. I tried the same with a new catalog and faced no problems, so I guess something must be wrong with the catalog (unfortunatelly).
Is there a possibility to reset face detection information in a catalog without having to catalogize all photos again (for example, I solved problems with thumbnail generation by deleting the respective thumbnail-file)?
Thanks in advance for any helpful hint!

  • Elements Organizer keeps crashing

I recently purchased the Photoshop Elements software via a CD.  I installed it but the Elements Orgnaizer keeps crashing.
For example, I was just bringing ina ll of my pictures into Organizer, it asked if I wanted to backup the catalogue, which I said yes and went through the steps to download it to two DVDs.  After verifying the first DVD, tit gave me a message "Organizer has stopped working, it will now close."  I did this twice with a fresh DVDF and it did it again.

What version of Premiere Elements are you running on Windows 8 (assumed 64 bit)? For now I will assume you are working with Premiere Elements 12.
Open a new Premiere Elements 12 project to the Expert workspace.
In the Expert workspace, hold down the Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys altogether as you use the mouse cursor to left click and hold the click on the Organizer Tab at the bottom left of the Expert workspace. With the Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys held down, hold the mouse click for about 15 seconds. At the end of the 15 seconds, release just the mouse click. You should get a pop up with the question
"Delete the Elements Organizer Settings File?". Click Yes. Now release the hold down on the Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys.
Once in the Elements Organizer (provided no more crashes), you might want to create a new catalog using File Menu/Manage Catalogs/Catalog Manager.
This worked for me. Hopefully it will work for you also.
    Looking forward to your results.
    Thanks.

  • Premiere Elements 13 Frequent crashes

I am experiencing frequent crashes of Premiere Elements 13. I was not getting this in Premiere Elements 11 with all the same settings. Crashes occur during editing, I have not had any crashes during rendering. There is no error message, the app simply crashes instantly.
    Win 8.1, current patches
Nvidia GT 745M (system also has Intel HD graphics, Premiere Elements is configured to use the Nvida card), current driver
    Latest version of Quicktime installed
    8GB RAM
    Intel I7
    All Adobe products current
Is this a known issue, are there any patches planned?

This is not Adobe. Rather user to user forum. So no insider information on Adobe's plans for a 13.1 Update or other.
Typically what specific type of editing are you doing in the program when the crash happens? What is the duration of the project
when the crash occurs? And, what is the format of the Timeline content?
Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
Is Premiere Elements 11 still installed on the same computer?
Premiere Elements does not fare well with more than 1 video card/graphics card. Have you re-examined your video card/graphics card
configuration where you are telling Premiere Elements to use the NVIDIA? What happens if you go with the Intel HD Graphics and disable the NVIDIA?
Please review and consider. We will be watching for your follow up.
    Thank you.

  • Elements Organizer 8 crashes after displaying initial screen

I have been using Elements 8 for over a year under XP and more recently W7.My catalogue has about 22k entries
For the last few days I have been experiencing a serious crash problem.  If I launch the main screen and select Organize, the program starts, then crashes 5-20 seconds after an initial screen showing a screenful of thumbnails appears.  The editor works OK.
Following some research on this forum and elsewhere I have tried numerous experiments (re-installing, launching directly with shift key, deleting prefs, disabling auto-analyzer, checking catalog by loading into trial version of  Lightroom,,,), without success.
The only semi-workround I've found is to launch the organizer directly with the shift key, then rename the catalog and open it.  Sometimes this keeps the program alive for a while.  But it crashes again if I try to start up 'normally'.
Do these clues ring any bells?  Especially with those at Adobe who know the product architecture?

    Hi e james w west,
Thanks for posting on Adobe forums.
As I understand you are not able to work with Elements Organizer 12.
It seems that the old catalog has gone bad.
    Please rename the old catalog as old.catalog name in the following location ;
    All Users: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\Catalog Name
    Current User: C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\Catalog Name
After this you can try to launch Elements Organizer and it will ask to create a new catalog, please create a new one.
Let us Know if this helps or not.

  • Photoshop Elements Organizer 13 crash!!!

    Hey everybode,
since yesterday I have a problem with my Photoshop Elements Organizer 13. It appears for a few seconds and after that it disapears as soon as it published. No report and no apparent reason. After a millions of install and uninstall still tthe same problem. Even the troubleshooting of Adobe brings no solution. What can I do now??? Any ideas???
    I need help please!!!

    zna22121,
Close computer down, and restart. If it does not work, it should, then re-install. But, do not attempt more than 200 at a time it just cannot handle it ?
    Good luck
Ps. I just dislike Organiser, (it is too slow, and disorganised) you can go from PE 13 Editor ( My wife tried it and went back to PE 6 ) and Process Multiple Files only 200 at a time. in Photoshop Elements, Organizer may handle it ?
We often do video production stills of 2,000 from PE 6 and we know it works ,when you use the images in Adobe CS5.5.2 Premiere Pro..for HD & Blue -ray transfers.. It is very easy ?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
In the Console window, look under DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION for crash or panic reports. A crash report has a name ending in ".crash" and a panic report has a name ending in ".panic" Select the most recent report from each subcategory and post the entire contents — the text, please, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • Elements Organizer 10 terminates after a few seconds, PC crashes after a few minutes

A couple of weeks ago, I installed Photoshop+Premiere Elements from the Adobe online store.  Within a couple of days, I noticed that Elements organizer would crash within a minute of starting, sometime withing a few seconds.
Also, even when I wasn't running Adobe, my PC would freeze after a few minutes with the HDD light solidly on.  My PC had never crashed before this installation.
After a little sleuthing using task manager, I found that all the memory in my system (4GB) gets suddenly hogged (within seconds) by the "Elements Organizer" process (3GB) ... I found the service correspponding to this process, "Adobe Active File Monitor v10", stopped it and set autostart to manual.  My PC no longer crashes.
I think Adobe needs to look into this one - it has all the hallmarks of a nasty memory leak.
A couple of possible clues as to why certain systems don't take well to this service:
    - I have a few very large video clips (2hours+) on my PC
    - I installed trial products like light room, CS5 before settling on Photoshop+Premiere Elements - could leftovers after uninstalling cause conflicts?
    - I have other video editors on my system that I don't use, like Corel VideoStudio and Sony Vegas.
    Thoughts?

Corrections - the process name is ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe - and unfortunately, the Adobe Active File Monitor v10 does not spawn ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe.
I disabled it by renaming it - it was under:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\CAHeadless
I see from google that a lot of people have this problem...

  • Why is elements organizer crashing?

Since I tried to download elements and premiere elements 10 my elements organizer reports crash and will not open. the edit function does open. Also around that same time I allowed flash player upgrade and tried to go to shutterfly to creat a photo book.  My internet connection is less that optimum certainly, but it usually gets the job done.

If you are using the auto-analysis options, try turning them off for a while. It often improves performance.
    Go to Edit à Preferences à Media-Analysis
    Then uncheck everything.

  • PS 13 element Organizer changed my album structure

albums filed within album Category changed order. They are not in alpha order any more. This is the third time this has happened and indifferent catalogs.   How can I put albums back in Alpha order

    Hi,
In PSE, there is an option to organize albums in alphabetic order or manual. To bring back your albums in ro alpha order, do follow the below steps:
    1. Go to Preferences.
        Win: Edit>preferences or Ctrl + k
        Mac: Elements Organizer>Preferences or Cmd + k
    2. Go to Keyword Tags and Albums.
    3. In the "Enable Manual Sorting Option", Chose "Alphabetical" for "Albums" category.
    4. Click OK
Please let me know if this doesn't work.

  • Elements Organizer crashes after Start

Elements Organizer crashes after Start whith Errormessage
"Elements 12 Organizer funktioniert nicht mehr"
    what can I do.

    Hi bic49,
Hold down your Shift key while launching the Organizer. This would open up the Catalog Manager.  Highlight your catalog at the bottom of the window, and choose "Repair" and then "Optimize".
If that doesn't solve it, from the Catalog Manager, try creating a new catalog.
If Organizer still fails to launch, try following steps –
    For Win
Delete the Organizer preferences. (Organizer preferences are located at %appdata%/Adobe/Elements Organizer/11.0/Organizer). Delete the "status.dat" and "psa.prf" file from this folder.
Navigate to folder on your machine where application is installed. Right click "PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe" and run it as Administrator.
    For Mac
Delete the Organizer preferences [Organizer preferences are located at //Users/[Your User Account]/Library/Preferences/]
Delete the file “com.Adobe.Elements Organizer.11.0.plist” from above location and relaunch the Organizer.

  • How to export photos from Elements Organizer on Mac?

I saw someone asked the same question and it seemed not to be possible with the Mac version. Surely this can't be possible as this must be one of the single most important functions in an Archving system.

    rugfoot wrote:
The problem is I can't move them to a new folder. If I could I wouldn't have the export problem. I just dragging and dropping but it doesn't work. I have made a selection (15) of photos in Elements Organizer but I can't identify which ones they are (from 300) in the Mac Finder app (= Windows Explorer).
Sorry, I can't test that on a Mac, but I thought that 'Windows only' features would be stated on the Adobe pdf help file, and moving file is not mentionned as Windows only, whereas 'export' is clearly stated as Windows only.

I have old video clips in Photoshop Elements Organizer v12 for Mac.  I want to divide some of those single clips into 2 or 3 separate clips, each shown separately in Organizer.  I can divide the clips in Premiere Elements Editor 12 and save them as "Projects" - but I can't find any way to get those divided clips back into Organizer.  Does anyone know whether that can be done?  Many thanks for your thoughts.

What about Google Drive? And just share the folder with the family members.
