Mac Flash Player Installer stalls at 25% or 30% followed by Connection Lost Start Over, which I do with same result.

This morning we resolved a problem that prevented Flash Player installations from completing for some of our Macintosh users.
If you encountered this problem, please delete any previously downloaded Flash Player installer and either:
1.)      Download the installer again from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
2.)      Download the stand-alone installer from  http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg

    Any help is appreciated thanks!

I'm not sure.  It was from a dept store out the box.
Inside is a little black card with the redemption code.
Front of box says Adobe Photoshop CS6 MAC OS.

  • Flash Player Installer Is Atrocious

Flash Player Installer absolutely sucks!  It is without doubt the worst program I have to interact with on a regular basis.
First, you have to download the installer.  17 Mb!!!  Talk about bloatware!  I guess cable modem users might not complain, but is that really close to 100% of all people now?
Then, once the installer is downloaded, which usually takes about 5 minutes, installing the program takes only a few seconds.  Does something seem disproportionate here?
Then, the thing I hate the most, is that you try to trick me into enabling silent automatic updates.  Why can't you leave my settings as they are?  But no, I have to remember to opt OUT.  Every time.
The next thing I hate even more, but which is part of Flash Player itself and not the installer, is that, if I forget to change the check box, and only see it after I have hit the Done button and the dialog window is closing, I can't just go to Control Panel (I have a Windows system) and fix it.
I have to go to Goolge and look up how to do it.  Then I have to go to the web page Google found, then to another web page linked to from that instruction page, wait for yet another download, and then right-click it, choose Properties and then disable the blinkety-blank silent automatic updates.
All this takes at least 10 minutes of completely unnecessary time.
Today, after you had tricked me into enabling silent automatic updates and I got to that web page, it told me that the animation required a new tool and I needed a new version of Flash Player.  Even though I had just finished updating it not five minutes before!!!
This took me to yet another web page, where I had to install Flash Player from scratch!  This took at least another 10 minutes!
When I was finally all done, I went back to the web page where I can disable automatic updates, and when the "animation" loaded, all I saw was something that looked like an ad.  No movement whatsoever.  This is an animation?
I right-clicked on it anyway, just to see what would happen, and I did get the menu that allowed me to select Properties, so I was able to disable silent automatic updates.
All this wasted about half an hour of my valuable time.  For nothing!!!
Yes, I wasted more time writing this, but I am so angry I really wanted to express it.  This entire experience today was so infuriating that I seriously considered just uninstalling Flash Player altogether.
I am a professional software designer, and I'm telling you, if I ever designed a piece of software as bad as Flash Player Installer, I would be fired.  And I think your designers ought to be fired too.
ALL RIGHT, THIS IS THE LAST STRAW!
As I was proofreading this post, my firewall pops up that Adobe Flash Player Updater wants to access the Internet.  So all this rigmarole I had to go through didn't even work!!!
I just told the firewall to permanantly block any access from Flash Player Updater to the internet.  I won't ever get any updates, but I am past the point of caring.
Once again, I think the entire installer team ought to be fired.

People like you are entertainment for those of us who actually know what we're doing.
Go buy a deck of cards and some stamps.

  • Flash Player installation does not complete

Help! I am at my wits' end! Windows 9, 32-bit. I have uninstalled older versions of Flash Player and appear to be downloading it but after several hours' waiting, am still on 'Step 2' of the download. Task Manager suggests install_flashplayer is a process but never completes. Have followed instructions on Adobe website, security to Medium, ActiveX Filtering off etc. Any ideas gratefully received.

Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by right clicking the following link and selecting "Save target as".
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Save the file to your downloads folder or desktop, wherever you can find it - DO NOT run it yet.
Reboot your system - a hard reboot - shut it down, waith 30 seconds and then restart it.
BEFORE opening anything else, locate the downloaded installer and run it.

  • Flash Player Installer only displays Adobe logo

I'm trying to install flash (reinstall more like) but I keep running into this problem. The installer downloads, I hit run, and it just stays there blank gray for a few seconds and then shows the Adobe logo in one of the corners.

    Thanks for any help!

    Bypass the installer/downloader....
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by right clicking the following links and selecting "Save target as" (IE) or "Save Link as"(Firefox).
    Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Save the files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT run anything yet.
    Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything, go to the Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLER to remove all instances of Flash Player.
Next, run the ActiveX installer, and then the (other browsers) Installer.
Lastly, see:Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer  and: ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer  to make 100% sure that Flash Player is enabled and NOT being blocked by ActiveX controls.

  • Mac Flash Player 11 installation problems

I installed Flash Player 11.2.202.228 on Mac that has Mac OS 10.6.8 (64-bit). I use Safari. The installation says it was successful. The Adobe Flash Player Help site detects that it was installed but I have no player. I have un-installed, installed numerous times, started up in Safe Mode, re-started the computer, checked my Internet Preferences to allow plug-ins, everything that I could find on this forum but I am having no luck. Please help. I am not an IT type so simple terms will help.

    Hello,
What you meant by Adobe Flash Player Help site detects the Flash Player? Could you please, click the following link?
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
Can you see the rolling ball? If that's the case, Flash Player is working fine. Do you have issues with a specific site?
    Thanks,
    Sunil

  • Flash Player Installer for Mac OS X Yosemite is broken

I've tried this on 3 different OS X Machines, all running with Yosemite and Safari. I've downloaded the new Flash Player Installer, and attempt to install, but the installer gets stuck at the "downloading" phase, at either 25 or 30% downloading, and will not complete the download or the installation. I've never had this problem before. It seems that the installer / downloader is broken.

This morning we resolved a problem that prevented Flash Player installations from completing for some of our Macintosh users.

  • Flash Player installation and update questions and answers

How do I verify that I have the latest version of Flash Player?
If you receive a message that tells you that Flash Player is out of date or a new version of Flash Player is available, you can verify this by visiting the Flash Player Help page with your browser.
Simply click the "Check Now" button and you'll be presented with a short message and detailed information regarding your Flash Player installation.
Where should I download the latest version of Flash Player?
Because malware authors will often employ misleading tactics to make malware look like something you should trust, it's important to get your Flash Player updates directly from Adobe.
Please verify that your Flash Player downloads and updates come from only the adobe.com or macromedia.com domains.  You can always download the latest version of Flash Player directly from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
I've selected the automatic update option in Flash Player, why do I continue to get update notifications?
Periodically, users are presented with the Flash Player update dialog notifying them that a new version of Flash Player is available for download from adobe.com.
The automatic update mechanism is used for some updates, security patches that address zero-day vulnerabilities and when users, who have selected to be updated automatically, have not updated within 45 days after a regularly scheduled update release of Flash Player.
What should I expect when I receive notification that Flash Player has an update available?
When a major update to Flash Player becomes available you will be presented with a Flash Player update dialog
After reviewing new features, pressing the Download button will open your default browser and load the Install Adobe Flash Player page.
Clicking the "Update now" or "Install Now" button will then take you to the next page which will start the download process and give instructions for completing the Flash Player install.
Finally, once the installation is complete your browser will display a page confirming a successful installation.
If you encounter installation problems, we recommend you review our Windows and Mac OS installation help documents. Further questions and information can be found on the Flash Player installation forums.
Why does Adobe Flash Player installer include the option to download additional software?
Adobe offsets the ongoing development costs of Flash Player, which is made available for free, by offering users the option to download select software from Adobe partners.
What options do I have when installing or updating Flash Player?
You have a few different options available when updating Flash Player. We recommend that you choose "Allow Adobe to install updates (recommended)" when initially setting up Flash Player
or by going into the Flash Player control panel and choosing this option in the Advanced tab.
Once selected, most updates will occur in the background without requiring any interaction. For those regularly scheduled major update releases, you will be presented with an update notification dialog
If you decide not to update, you will receive an automatic update within 45 days if you have the "Allow Adobe to install updates" option selected. Please note that when this update occurs, only Flash Player will be installed.
If you want to be notified about every Flash Player update, select "Notify me to install updates" when initially installing Flash Player or from the Advanced tab in the Flash Player control panel.
Finally, if you'd prefer not to receive any updates, select "Never check for updates (not recommended)". We do not recommend this option as we believe keeping your system up to date improves both security and stability when using Flash Player.
For network Administrators we offer additional update options, including the ability to host your own internal Flash Player update server. Please see our Flash Player distribution page and Flash Player Administrator guide for details.

Sunil, I just want to verify you are pointing me to the link under "Progress bar hangs during download / Unable to connect to server / Unable to download metafile."
If yes, then that is the file I originally downloaded based on a March post I saw here.
I just tried it again, and it (by "it" I mean the Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers from download.macromedia.com) installed 11.6.
After the installation process completed, the dialog box notified me it was version 11.6, and when I went back to, the "find version" page, 11.6 was confirmed.
I did not download the exe for Internet Explorer, as I almost never use that browser.

  • Block Flash Player installs

Under "About this Mac" / System Report / Installations, I am seeing multiple Third Party Adobe Flash Player Installs.  How is this happening without my approval?  I thought I had all the appropriate boxes check to not allow this type of activity without me approving it.

When you install Flash there is a dialog box you have to check to not install automatically.
"About this Mac" / System Report / Installations. This is littered with multiple reports.  I don't think this is a good interface to see your applications.

Unable to install flash player. After downloading the Adobe FLash Player Installer and running it, a grey pop up window opens up but nothing is displayed in it. There is no progress bar or anything and even after keeping it running for a long time there is no progress. Please help with this issue.

    Hi Prat,
We are aware of this issue and are working on a fix.  In the mean time, please use the offline installer, posted at the bottom of the help page corresponding with your OS and browser:
Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows
Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac
The installers are at the bottom of the page, in the 'Still having problems' section.

  • Adobe Flash Player Installer Screen completely black

When trying to install Adobe Flash Player, Mac 10.10.2, Safari 8.0.4, the Adobe Flash Player Installer page and popup screens are completely black and not accessible.

    A) The screenshot didn't work. It's not complex to visualize. Just imagine a window in the app "Install Adobe Flash Player" which has the words Adobe Flash Player Installer in the top most horizontal section, on the same level as the Mac Red and Yellow circles. Then imagine that everything below that level is completely black. That's what it looks like.
    B) When I went to Installation problems | Mac, and hit "
Flash Player for Safari and Firefox - NPAPI
then I get a Safari tab http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg. The entire window area below the tab line is also completely black. Plus there is a pop-up that says "Plug-in blocked for this website"

  • Adobe flash player installer screen blank.

Every time I try to install the latest Flash player the "Adobe Flash Player Installer" screen goes blank. I'm on mac by the way (Yosemite) "Getting installation" and the bar shows up for a split second and then dissapears. The rest of the screen is completely blank, no matter what I do. I have shut down browsers and all other relevant programs before attempting the install, so it's not that. Also, I have uninstalled flash to do a clean install, but it made no difference.
Please help me fix this problem. I have found no help for it.. I can't believe adobes installation software is bugged like this.

    Try the offline installer:

  • Need help with flash player installation please !!!!

    Hello,
I need help with my flash player installation because every time I access a movie this is the message I receive.
This content on Xfinity TV is not available for viewing with Chrome's "Incognito" mode. To play this video using Chrome, please view this page without "Incognito" mode.
Still having problems? Try resetting your Flash player license.

Incognito mode is a Google Chrome setting when you open a new window (Cmd+Shift+N on a Mac Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows) It opens a "private" window with no cookies and no tracking. The problem with it is that when you disable cookies, your license files are not sent to the site (whetehr it's YouTube or xFinity or any other that uses license files for paid content)  and it treats you as if you're a first time visitor. Paid videos won't play wihtout the cookies sending the license file info.
This isn't a Flash Player setting. It's in Chrome. I did some research and according to Google, "Incignito" mode is off by default, and can ONLY be activate by the keyboard shortcut. There IS a way to disable it from the registry http://dev.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3#IncognitoModeAvailability

  • Question about Flash Player Installer

I downloaded the Adobe Flash Player installer on my Mac -- OS Mavericks.  The installer will not accept my password to install the update.  Gives the message "changed password"  I went to Adobe and changed my password, but the installer still will not accept the password or begin the installation.

    Hi Jean,
The password being requested is not your AdobeID password.  This is your computer's password, what you use to log into your account.  Please see What userid & password do I need to install Flash Player? for more information.
