Unfortunately, my experience with Office is that somethoping will get corrupted in your account that prevents it from running. I have never figured out what exactly needs to be removed to make it work again.

Mac OS X - Firefox will not load intranet sites. Sites will load in any other browser

I have done all the obvious as well (reset firefox, cleared cache, reinstalled, etc.). I am now on a different MacBook with a clean install of Firefox and am facing the same issue.

Install software for Deskjet 2540 will not load on Windows XP Home edition SP3 machine

I have successfully connected a new Deskjet 2540 printer to a Windows 7 machine, and IPAD Air, and an XP Pro laptop.
I cannot get the install software to load on and XP Home edition SP3 machine. I have tried all of the HP remedies that I can find, over period of two days, but the installation fails every time with the message "Installation failed. The software required for your printer could not be installed".
What can be done?

Thanks for your second installment of help suggestions.
I started check disk as you proposed and it ran happily for some hours with evidence of progress. However eventually I found the computer stopped with a number of suggestions for restarting. I tried all of these and some others, but got no further than the first Windows picture. At this point the machine restarts, and goes through the same process.
The printer problem, as you can see has unfortunately become secondary to trying to recover the system.
What I propose is to try to read the disc in question on another computer, and extract the important data files to a safe place. Then to return the disc to its own machine and use the recovery CD, to try to get the machine to recover with the minimum of loss. If this succeeds, I might even find that the printer software then loads without problem. There is a big IF there, and I won't hold my breath.
None of this relates to the printer problem, and fortunately i have three other devices running which are happily connected to the printer.
I just wnted to explain why there will be no further feedback for a while. I will take my time with the recovery process.

As posted earlier by evabrazil, I have the same problem with the new MacBook. I have installed PocketMac and downloaded the new drivers, but the application will not launch.

Actually, I think that the battery is severely depleted...without a minimum charge, nothing will work.
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
Remove the battery
Wait 15 minutes
Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem.

"iTuneUp.dll" for tuneup add-on for 64-bit will not load

When I load up itunes with tuneup, I get the error "iTuneup.dll" could not load in 64-bit mode.
It goes on to say "Try contacting the plug-in vendor(s) to see if a 64-bit version is available.
Is there a 64-bit version out there or is there something else going on?

VSTO Tools for Office 2012 will not install

I am trying to install VSTO 2012 on a Windows 7 machine and get the following errors. When I got the access denied error for the file 1343597488.xml.temp I attempted a couple of things. One was to create a file with these extensions in the folder
to see if it then could be accessed and modified by the installer. No Go.
Noting that Read Only permissions were set, tried removing them but they reset themselves somehow.
Since this is an "Access to the path ..." type of error, I believe it should be taken literally and that this is a permissions issue. We're administrators on our machines at work. The permissions for the folders have been checked and
Full Control with Write Permissions are set both for my account and administrators.
So I tried moving the Web Installer MSI file and the VSTO 2012 executable out of the .../web platform installer folder to my desktop. This also didn't work. (Naturally, now that I think back on it. :) )
I can find no installer issues on Google for the Exe or for the MSI and I can't find otherwise what is wrong.
It's obvious it's a permissions thing and one of our help desk crew will help me dig into this here but I know enough of Windows administration myself, I think there's some sort of issue with the installer. And it isn't configurable so different options
that probably should be there to troubleshoot issues aren't exposed.

Problem solved.
The issue is the Downloads folder has been locked down by group policy. This explains why the read only permissions were being reset.
Simply moving the .exe file to another folder solved the problem but this does not explain why administrator privileged accounts are being overridden. Clearly with permissions set for full control this should override the read-only checkbox but maybe
I recall that wrong. (Admin permissions ought to have precedence that is but maybe group policy can be configured to where even these are preempted)
To clarify, when the move above was done, it was to the desktop
which is still in the .../users/mdurthal/... path. So it appeared moving the files to another location didn't work but the case here is
this path was still affected by the group policy :). Thought I should mention that.
Should this one bite anyone else just create a new folder off the C:\ drive that isn't affected by such settings.

I have Outlook 2011 installed on an iMac model late 2012. It has worked without any problems for years until today.
I can receive emails and read them but cannot respond, forward, or create a new message for some reason. I restarted, rebooted the computer to see if it would solve the problem but im exactly where I first started.
I searched google to see if anyone has reported this problem and found several websites stating that this is an issue related to Safari.
All pages suggested to reinstall safari (not sure why as I have the actual outlook mail client) in order to be able to use Outlook properly.
These posts where from last year. I have tried to reinstall safari however the application has changed. It appears that with Mavericks you cannot remove/reinstall safari. According to the website you now have to reinstall Mavericks to reinstall Safari. This is ridiculous.
Anyone have any idea on how to repair this issue, thank you in advance for your time and help.

A Mavericks / Outlook 2011 problem - all our workstations using on 10.9.3 wont connect Exchange. All was fine until today. So far, no obvious fix.

could you make sure that your drivers are up-to-date and that your plugins are as well? You can usually find your GPU's (Graphics Processing Unit) drivers on the official website of your brand and can check for your plugins at [[http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck]]. Let me know how it goes.

Mac Mini will not load after recent update.

My late 2012 model Mac Mini just had a software update and upon rebooting, my login name did not populate. I rebooted again and now I get the gray screen with spinner and progress bar. Once the progress bar loads I have just the spinner for a minute or so before it cuts off completely. I use a wireless MAC keyboard and it will not load into safe mode when I try holding down SHIFT upon reboot. Any suggestions?

iSync for the ical and address book are working fine.
the iSync for the phone will not load. and it has a generic Icon. version 2.4.
I have:
reinstalled the isync. via update.
deleted it and reinstalled via update.
Tiger disk will not do a isync only install it wants me to archive and install a new 10.4 and then I would have to re-update back to 10.4.10. really do not want to do that.
I can not find 2.1.
I have repaired permissions and Disk Warrior and every combo you can think of.

Because i had killed my iSync app by deleting it and I was not able to extract the iSync from the tiger installer disks, The 10.4.10 combo did not fully in stall the iSync app.
The isync from the system Pref. work fine, iCal, Address book ..ect. the problem was the iSync in the Application Folder would not load and had a generic Icon and was only 12Mb in size. So I need to get a base copy of iSync app on to my Mac. So i drage the iSync app (21Mb ) form my wives Mac onto my desktop. both mac are 10.4.10 Right or wrong it worked.
