  • My mac gets heated very soon

When I plug charger on and use my mac, it gets hetaed ver soon.Is this specific to my mac or do you guys face the same?

The charger can get heated yes, it's down converting the AC power to DC to charge the battery.
If it's burning hot, then take everything back to the store for a free evaluation.

  • HT204382 I cannot get adobe or quick time for my Mac Air

I cannot get adobe or quick time to download on my Mac Air.  Does anyone know how?  What do you use instead

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Consider yourself lucky that your MacBook is still working. Now, turn it off. Wine may have damaged other parts of your computer.
Then, take the MacBook to an Apple Store or reseller. It will be a very expensive repair, as it's not covered by warranty and the logic board has to be replaced. In some cases, it may be better to get a new MacBook.
If you can't take it to an Apple Store, contact with Apple > http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

Try a SMC reset. The article covers when this is required, but doing this will not affect anything.

  • My mac gets really hot once I start using a video converter like HANDBRAKE or MIRO VIDEO CONVERTER!!Is it normal or shd I do smthin bout it!?!??!:/

The fan begins to oscillate a lot faster and the laptop gets heated up in like 2 minutes:/

Yes, this is completely normal and it's nothing to worry about. Macs, and all computers really, get hot and the fans are used intensely when doing big tasks such as converting videos.
    Hope this helps,

  • Mac gets slow after installed OS X 10.5 Leopard

    Dear All,
Hope you had a great Christmas!!
As I mentioned, after I upgrade my OS X10.4 to 10.5 Leopard my Mac gets very slow to start the machine. Normally takes less than minute to start to operate, but now it takes long time to load.
First I thought it because of my hard drive running low space so I moved most of files to my external hard drive, left 57G free space but nothing is improved.
Any ideas why? Anyone knows how to improve the speed?
    Thanks for your helps!
    Michael

    Sounds plenty sufficient to me.
according to a quick google search, mdworker is related to spotlight, indexing what/where/content of files.
there may be other ppc stuff lurking, especially if this is not your first mac and you used migration wizard to move from a PPC to intel mac.
Thats what I did...and was quite unhappy with the perfrmance.
I finally found a QT plugin that was (one of the things) killing my quads performance. (select the plugin, do a get info, it'll tell you if its PPC or universal) QT plugins do not show in activity monitor.
Found another firefox plugin that did the same.
activity monitor shows relative processor usage.
with no programs open other than activity monitor, whats using a high percentage of processor?
Oh, and if you have an old copy of Norton utilities, that will cause all sorts of problems. The only Norton/symantec product that is still OK to use is their anti-virus, and then, only version 8 or higher. System saver and all the other parts of NU just cause problems under X.
As longs as you have at least 15% of your disk free, you should be OK there.
Much below that, and the system will complain and start doing strange things.

  • In Windows 7 , iMAC heats up quickly

My iMAC 27" (with Radeon 4850) heats up quickly in windows 7 64-bit.
1- I can't have control over the graphic card because the catalyst control center doesn't get installed (no errors while installing, but can't find it after that)
2- in CPU-Z it shows fan speed is 30% and even when it heats up (sometimes up to 72 C) the fan speed remain the same and the system gets really hot.
How can I overcome this issue? this is important for me

Might be interesting to list the codecs you have installed to see if any could be interpreting the PSD format...
There's a good tool for doing that called AutoRuns and it's available here:  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902
I'm not sure exactly where to tell you to look, but with the FastPictureViewer Codec Pack I see all the entries as decoders in the Everything tab, under a couple of Class IDs with Instance subkeys...

  • MAcbook getting heated fast

i have a macbook unibody. From the last week i am observing that my macbook gets heated fast. i am not running any special app just Safari browser. After some time of browsing the CPU temp runs to 65C and above .Hence the fans start running full making noise which is really very disturbing. Please comment on the solution possible. I checked with the activity monitor for run-aways process but none

I recieved my mac book back from the apple after service. They told me as usual no problems with the machine and the machine is working properly now. so i took it back home and started using it. now again the same problem of heat and fan blowing has started.
Really so annoyed with apple service in INDIA.
Can some one suggest any other source of problem that i can tell these service guys to look at

  • Does anyone else's Mac get hung up when doing a specific song search?

When i search for a song and locate it and hit "see all", when I try to scroll down my computer stalls. In other words, it will not allow me to quickly scroll down the page to view the songs and artists who performed the song I am researching. This happens on both of my Macs. Does this happen to anyone else, and does anyone know why? Is there a fix?

I have explored, that's why I'm here. Nothing else is running. I already stated that this happens when the Mac's display goes to sleep and it becomes locked.
Maybe I should state this a little better:
It's not so much the Mac gets hosed up, it's more that Time Machine does. I'll come back and log back in and the back up is just stuck at, for example, 8.34gigs out of 29.6gigs. I watch it for 30 minutes and it hasn't changed. I go to stop the backup and the whole system just freezes up, finder even stops responding. I know it shouldn't take very long to back up because I use the FireWire port for backups.

  • IPhone 5S Getting Heated and Battery Drain issue

From Past 2 Days , my iPhone is been getting heated and the battery drain is 1% per minute.
Earlier When i used to put it on standby it used to be only a drop by 1-2 % through out night. Now it has gone down to -35% to 40% drain.
    I have tried
    -Resetting all settings
    - Restoring to fresh new iPhone
-let my battery down to 0 and then charge it to 100% again
But Nothing Helped, i am out of the country for work and i visit an apple store here.
Any Suggestions, How do i Fix it?

I have a VERY similar issue to extremecoder...
Iphone 5s 16gb (purchased from Apple Online U.K. on 8th December 2013) was fine until the last two days onwards. I am now getting incredibly quick battery drain. The image is a screenshot taken this morning. Phone was charged to 100% last night and used for an hour or so, with battery level on 50%. I then switched off overnight as I always do.
Turned it back on again this morning and was at 48%!
Now look at it.    Do I have a case here for a replacement phone?
P.S. Location services, bluetooth etc all off as they always are. Nothing has changed at all in my usage habits with the phone.

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup...  Restore as New...

    Backing up, Updating and Restoring

  • How can I avoid (on a mac) getting called on Skype...

How can I avoid (on a mac) getting called on Skype when I'm not signed in?
    It's really annoying.
I'm not sure if it's supposed to be that way, but suddenly I get the skype-calling-sound, and I have to log into the skype app to abort the call. The persistent calling bastards kept on calling after I aborted the call and left the app, so I ended up muting my speakers for a while. It really shouldn't have to be this troublesome.

That's like asking how many cows can I get into a field.  It depends on the size of the field, size of the cows, the terrain of the field, etc.  We could use a bit more information on what you're trying to accommplish:
1 - where are the photos being downloaded from.
2 - how big are the photos?
3 - where are you going to put the photos, i.e. into folders, into an iPhoto library?
4 - how big is the hard drive in the Mac Pro and how much free space do you have on it?
    etc., etc, etc......
