Mac hangs at boot. Please help.

I have been using an iMac (Mid 2007) for almost a year without any problem. Two weeks ago i star having this problem. I was using the Mac when i notice that it was very slow and that the keychain don't work (with Mail or System preferences for example) so i reboot, then it hangs at boot and constantly keep rebooting.
For solving the problem i try to check and repair the disk but the disk utility didnt find any problem. So i decide to check and repair the permissions, there were a lot of bad permissions, and i repair them but when i reboot i hangs and keep rebooting like before.
Before the problem i had made a backup of my system with SuperDuper! so i restore that backup to the drive and i could boot, and all works great for 2 days, then the same problem happens again. I had tried to restore the backup to differents partitions and drives, to check out a hardware problem, but the problem happens again with differents partitions and drives. This problem had happens 7 times in two weeks.
The only thing that i remember that change in my system two weeks ago is that i install Intego VirusBarrier X5, before that i was using Norton AntiVirus 11.
I would appreciate a lot any help that you could give me. I am really lost with this problem.

If you just dragged Norton Anti-Virus application from the trash you didn't fully remove the application. There's lots more to be removed. The CD has an uninstaller program you must use. You may find this site useful. At least until you've resolved your problems you might want to consider removing Intego's anti-virus program. It too should have an uninstaller.
My opinion of both companies is very low. They both use scare tactics to coerce users to buy and use their programs. At present there are no Mac malware in the wild - the sole exception being a trojan horse. Avoiding **** sites and ignoring their attempts to get you to download programs to view their wares should keep you safe from that little critter.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode. -

I added a contact to my iphone 4s and when I did a sync manually it is not showing up on my MAC in address book - please help....I checked off sync all contacts in iTunes - does it only work one way from computer to phone?

Your advice did not help me. I also installed 10.7.4 combo but the situation is the same.

JulieTry enabling the Personal Hotspot on the iPhone and connecting the Mac to the Internet thru it. If Facebook works ok then, that would mean the ISP is either blocking or having connection problems whereas the phone carrier is not.
Be mindful that carrier data charges can be outrageous so use this as a test first. -
ollowing problem: I have around 600 contacts on my iphone and Ipad and would like to sync with contact list on my mac book air but its not working and whatever I do I get stuck on the 44 contacts I have on my mac contact-list. Please Help!!!! thanks
First, be sure that the contacts on the devices are in the "icloud" section and not the "On my iPhone" (or iPad) section of the contact listings/groups.
Missing contacts:
Here's a test to perform - using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and go to the Contacts page. If most of them are gone, then they are gone.
If they show up, then the problem is that your device is not connecting to the Contacts database on icloud.
On the device, go to Settings>icloud. Be sure icloud is on and using the right ID. If not, scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Delete Account - this just disconnects the device from that account, no data is lost. Then log back in using the correct ID. ALSO - be sure the Contacts are turned on (on the same screen).
Note: Contacts are not part of an iCloud backup, since they are part of contacts database on iCloud's servers. So performing a restore will not help.

Then they have been deleted. There are many reasons for this. One possibility is that someone else is using the same iCloud account (family member, etc.) and they deleted contacts, thinking they did want them on THEIR device. How to get them back? Unfortunately, an iCloud backup does not include any of the sync databases, like contacts, notes, calendars, reminders, etc. because the data is already stored in these databases. Your only hope for restoring the data is if you had that data on a computer (like a mac's Contacts, Calendars, etc.) and that data was backed up using whatever backup software you typically use (e.g. Time Machine on a mac). Just restore the data files back to the computer. Other than that, I'm afraid the data is gone. -
i have a old powerbook g4 which i usally use to store some photos and to listen music. the battery of my powerbook is completly dead so i used to use my powerbook using charger adapter so whenever my power cuts down my laptop will be shutdown.

Boot Camp cant be recognised after Mac OS Yosemite update, Please Help?
I've updated my Macbook Pro 13" OS software and apparently has crashed my boot camp partition.

Put new HD in and now can't get it to boot, please help!
With disk it tells me to select a destination volume but it's blank. Without disk it gives me a ? in a folder.
Please help getting really frustrated.OK, what version of OS X came with the computer and what version do you want to install? The first thing you need to do is format the new HD. If your computer came with Leopard (10.5.x) and you currently have Snow Leopard (10.6.x) you will need to insert the Snow Leopard upgrade DVD into your drive. Then restart the computer while holding down the Option Key, if you only have a wireless keyboard you will probably need to get your hands on a wired one. When it starts while holding the Option Button the computer should give you the option of booting from the Install Disc. Choose that option and let it continue, it will next ask which language you want choose the language then next choose Utilities menu - Disk Utility - Highlight the internal HD - Select the Erase tab - Set formate to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) - Click Erase - Exit Disk Utility when format is complete and continue installing the OS. If you had a backup of your old system (Time Machine or a Bootable Clone) this is very good! Towards the end of the install it will ask if you are migrating from another Mac, choose yes then choose your backup (it has to be physically connected to the machine) and restore from the backup.

I am having trouble trying to install Logic Studio on my mac book pro 10.6.8 when i click on the "logicstudio.iso" file it mounts the file but when I "double click" on the "dmg" file nothing happens the "installer" doesn't pop up. i have just purchased a mac mini 1.66ghz however im having problems with it. for some reason i cant get it to boot from the os x dvd even when im holding C.. not sure why.. there is something different between the two this is that for some reason the new mac mini when i start it you dont get the apple logo you just get black screen with white writing before it starts up but the other you get the apple logo until it comes to the desktop
please HELP!!!This happens when something goes wrong with Boot Camp. You should be able to get to the boot loader by holding the option key, and hopefully from there you can load the install DVD.
Otherwise, you'll probably have to take it somewhere so they can extract the drive and deal with it that way, or do a network install.
