Mac InDesign cs6 to PC InDesign CC - Links not recognized

I am having issues going from a Mac using cs6 to a PC using CC.
I have templates for store signage, ads for all different media outlets that all have different sizes, etc. and my problem is with the logos and pictures not being recognized.
I knew going into this that this would not be a completely smooth transition, but I did not anticipate that every time I open one of these files for the first time that I would have to relink all the different elements of the file. All the files I access come from the Marketing folder.
The path on my old mac in which I created the files: Macintosh HD > Documents > Marketing
The path on my PC in which I tried to best duplicate the path: OS (C:) > Documents > Marketing
Is there a way to communicate to InDesign to replace Macintosh HD iwith OS (C:)?

I tried this and I get an error: "Failed to find 8 links in new folder. These links have not been relinked, and will remain selected in the Links panel."
The other thing is that even if this was to work, I don't have every missing link in the same folder. If I have logos in one folder, I have outdoor images from our vendors in a different folder, I would still need to relink every single item essentially since they are all in a different folder.

How do I downsave InDesign CS6 documents to InDesign CS5?

Is there a way to downsave my InDesign CS6 documents to be opened up by someone who is on InDesign CS5?

So is the best option to save it to pdf??
That depends on what you want.
Want to send it to a print shop? Want to send it to someone who is going to provide editorial commentary? Want to send it to someone who is going to actually edit text? The best option is not obvious to a forum full of random strangers if we don't know your selection criteria. If, from your original post, you need your document
to be opened up by someone who is on InDesign CS5?
then PDF by itself may the worst option. I'd suggest that you File -> Package your CS6 file, make sure all linked files are included, and give them an IDML file. And, because the IDML file won't match your CS6 INDD perfectly if you've used any tools new in CS6, give 'em a PDF too. So maybe the best option is "all of the above."

I am using a 2003 eMac and am running on Mac OSX vs 10.4.11. I amrunning iTunes 8.2.1 (6) and not able to upgrade iTunes on this computer. iTunes is not recognizing music I have purchased and when I try to connect when it request me to I get the following error message:
Cannot complete iTunes Store request. A required iTunes component is not installed (-42404)
Please help.

Is this music purchased back in DRM days? I don't actually have any iTunes music so I can't test with my iTunes 7.5, but I know that without iTunes 10 you cannot even connect to the store anymore. I wouldn't think that would require an active connection to the store all the time, otherwise how could you play music on a computer in the middle of nowhere? Did you do something to trigger iTunes suddenly wanting to connect and check on machine authorization?

Clicking "Search" freezes InDesign CS6 (and also InDesign CC)

On a specific InDesign document, clicking "Search" immediately freezes InDesign. For several reasons this is an inacceptable malfunction.
After restarting InDesign offers recovering my file. Clicking OK opens the file again without any problems but my workarea appears in default view and needs to be set to my adjustments.
"Save as" produces a much lighter file with 47mb instead of former 117mb?! No cure, the bug stays with this copy.
Another phenomenon seems to be coherent to the search-malfunction:
When trying to generate an automated "table of contens" InDesign freezes again.
I am working on CS6 Design and Web Creative Suite on an iMac 27" mid 2011, 16gb RAM. OSX Mavericks.
I installed the font (Helvetica) and checked the file on my MacBook (Mavericks) on CS6. Same problem, no solution.
The used fontfile is checked and appears to be OK.
No other InDesign files are affected by this bug.
Opening the file in InDesign CC shows the same problem.
Did anyone face a similar problem and knows a solution for it?

InDesign CS6, fullscreen button on controller does not expand video

I placed a video file in InDesign and when I export the video to SWF, all my other animations and transitions works. My video plays, all the other controller options work, however when I click on the full screen option, it changes the resolution of my screen but only places the video itself in the top left corner of the screen and does not expand it across the screen.
Here is what it looks like after I click the fullscreen button. Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this or how to fix it?

Try to disable the hardware acceleration in the Flash Player.

Link not recognizing legacy backup files

I'm trying to restore some of my 9900 data into my new Q10 but link will not recognize the 9900 backups.
I've tried this originally on my Mac to no avail. So I transfered over the 9900 backups to a PC and the Windows Blackberry Link won't recognize it either.
Any suggestions? My 9900 is bricked, so I can't access it.

You are totally correct. The first versions of BlackBerry Link did not have this option.
Now this is a known issue for BlackBerry Link for Mac, however it should work for the PC. Do you have any backup files that were originally created on the PC instead of brought over from the Mac?

Downloaded CS6 design and web premium file not recognized

I have downloaded the file designwebpremium cs6. When I try to open it the process stops because my Mac does not recognize the file.

Open with shows Disk Image Punter (Default) and gives the same error message
Even if I follow your other steps it fails to load
the download file size is: 4,641,567,046 bytes

Blackberry Link - not recognizing device and does not allow synching calendar and contacts

I cannot get Blackberry Link to work properly on my laptop running Windows 8.1 Pro. It takes a very long time to open and it does not allow me to sign in saying there is no internet connection and I cannot get around resolving this issue. That is problem 1. Problem 2, Blackberry Link sometimes recognizes the device and sometimes it does not. Problem 3, when I do get Link to recognize the device, (it can backup), synching the calender and contacts on the device to Outlook does not work. I try to do a one way synch from the device to outlook and it processes but Outlook is not updated (outlook has no contacts or calendar events as I want to pull them off my device).
Any ideas? Thanks.

Email links not recognized

My iPad no longer recognizes links in email. This is true for both Hotmail and Gmail. Is this a settings problem?

Close the mail app completely and then reset your iPad. No clue which iOS you are running so .....
In order to close apps in iOS 5 or iOS 6, first tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
In order to close apps in iOS 7, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Link not recognized

I was trying to post a link to devworld.apple.com in the Unix forum in the Problem with the program Wine thread. When I tried to post it as it is above it wouldn't turn into a hyperlink like it's supposed to. I had to use www.tinyurl.com to get it to show up as a valid link. Is there some sort of special link syntax I need to use when linking to Apple's Developer site or other web sites?

Generally, just posting the URL will work.
To make it look 'prettier', you can use the following format:

Mac to PC, FCP to After Effects--Quicktime not recognized! HELP!

Hello,
I searched far and wide and can't come up with anyone having answered this question after it's been asked by many before me!
I am editing on FCP4 (G5--Quicktime 6 pro).
I want to do After Effects (6.5) work on my PC (HP 3ghz, 1 gig RAM,)
I am not compressing any files. I capture the files in FCP from mini-DV. Then I take the captured file from the mac into the pc.
Here's where it all goes bad. The PC does not recognize the file as anything. Quicktime will open and play it, but I can't open it in After Effects at all.
I have read that if I had Quicktime Pro in the PC I can just SAVE AS the file with another name and all will be cool. But the last thing I want to is is spend another $30 on Quicktime only to have this not be true.
Any ideas? Answers? Reasons for this problem?

The thing is I don't want to compress it at all. I just want to take the captured footage out of the Mac and into the PC.
Since the Mac captures it as a Quicktime file, this shouldn't be a problem--but it is.
Any other ideas?

Factory ipod/car stereo link - not recognized

i have a new mini cooper and got the factory ipod sync for the car stereo (same one as bmw, they make mini's). hooked my new 60gb video ipod up and was happy as a clam using it. until last week. when it suddenly stopped recognizing my ipod. took my car in for service and the sync works fine on everyone's ipod in the shop, except mine of course. ipod strangely works fine in all other ways including syncing with my mac mini. of course did all the resets and restores. and no i didn't change anything or download a new ipod updater when it stopped. and yes it is up to date. bringing it in to an apple store this week, will let you all know. but from phone calls they sound as mystified as i am. anyone else have similar?
