Can you turn off when safari saves the last webpage when you quit (IE. Command Q)

I was hoping to find out if you can turn off safari saving the last page when you quit the application (Feature frfrom OS X Lion, also the same in iWork). I find this very annoying as I find it slows down my computer when i am trying to launch safari.
Thanks in advance.System Preferences/General. There is a checkbox to enable/disable this behavior near the bottom of the window. Alternatives are: quit while holding the option key. Launch from dock while holding the shift key.

Are you sure it's crashed and not 'temporarily-frozen'?

Why does my MacPro turns off when I start it in 64 bits mode
I've been trying to use it in 64 bits mode but whenever I press the 6 and the 4 in the boot it imediatly start to make a litle noise that turns to be faster and faster up to the point that the Mac automaticaly tunrs off.
What's going on?we are not mind readers. we dont see what hardware software configuration and model year or how you installed Mac OS, or what version even.

My MacBook Pro screen turns off when I open the lid!
This has been driving me nuts, and also apparently Apple as well.
When my MacBook Pro is connected to a power adapter, if I close the lid it sleeps like a good little Mac. When I open the lid, the display comes on instantly. Then after about a second, it goes black. The LED backlight turns off. I can get it to come on using either of two ways: 1) touch either of the brightness buttons, or 2) remove and replace the power connector.
Now, here is the weird part: it only seems to do it when I am logged in as me. If I login as guest, it doesn't happen. That would seem to imply it is something about my profile that causes it to happen. So I whacked ~/Library/Preferences and it still happened. So where is this particular bit of nastiness hiding?OK, so I think I solved my issue. It was caused by the system not going to sleep (The screensaver thing was a dead end).
When I ran the console app pmset, I got something like this:

The process that was causing PreventSystemSleep to be 1 was "org.cups.cupsd" which is the print service. So I checked all my printers, one of them was "In Use". When I opened it, there weren't any jobs listed. I went through the options and selected Jobs > Show Everyone's Jobs and sure enough there was a job there. I deleted it and everything seems to work now.
The odd thing is that print job was probably from my other account which didn't seem to have this screen problem. Anyway, I hope this helps anyone out there.... -

I have an IPhone 4 that turns off on its own. When I plug the phone into an outlet, it says to connect to iTunes. When i connect my phone to itunes, the screen displays the apple icon and doesn't connect to iTunes. I need to backup info on this phone so I can apply my back up to a new iPhone. Is there any another way i can do this? My older phone will not show it's connected to iTunes. I used iCloud on the phone with problems, but I didn't back up all the info thru iCloud. Is there another way to back up?
Sounds like your phone is in recovery mode. In this case, all data on it is gone. There's nothing to back up.

I have a 4G Ipod Nano. It was working perfectly and all of a sudden it started giving me troble. Sometimes when I try the center music to select a category, it shuts off and restarts. Can anybody help?
