Mac iTunes account x Apple TV iTunes account = Integration???

I rented the film Savages, through my Mac iTunes Store account. When I
tried to see the film in my Apple TV, the Savages wasn't available. This
has alredy happened in an apposite way: I Rented "Abraham Lincoln" film,
through the iTunes Store account Apple TV, when I tried to see this film
in my iTunes Store account on my Mac, it wasn't available.
I used the same iTunes Store account.
A good exemple about that ( and in this case it worked ): I bought the
Led Zeppelin Celebration Day with my iTunes Store account and this film is
available on my Mac iTunes Store and on my Apple TV, one time I used the
same ID Apple, as I sad.
I would like the integration (Mac and Apple TV) but it's not happening.
I hope I won't be charged twice in Savages film, because I rented this
film through Mac - iTunes Store account and I have to rent again ( in the
same time, with the same ID account ) to see it on my Apple TV.
Could someone please explain what is happening?
Sincerely,
Bosco Amaral

As far as I know the email used as an AppleID for itunes cannot be changed though you can change the correspondence email and account password which is what I assume you want to do assuming you are the purchaser of the music etc.
Manage the ID here:
https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
I still have an old defunct email address as my AppleID for iTunes - just regard it as a unique iTunes username - the fact it is an email address is not relevant.

  • Can't log in to iTunes on my Apple TV/iTunes Store is unavailable

I can't seem to login to iTunes from my Apple TV... I already have an iTunes account. Keeps telling me that my account name is not found or my password is incorrect.
Also, can't get on to the store either. Says it's unavailable.
Are these two issues connected?? HELP! I'm about to throw my Apple TV out the window

There are many situations that can block or interfere with wifi, however I doubt this is your issue or you would have issues across the range of internet services and you don't seem to.

  • Adding an account to Apple's MAIL app

When I set up my new Mac I set up my Yahoo e-mail account in Apple Mail, even though I use Entoutage with Att as my isp. My yahoo account mail is received in both Apple mail an Entourage which is what I wanted. When I try to set up another yahoo account in apple mail, (an account which is not in entourage or registered with my att isp), the password is rejected and I get an error mesage that "Trying to log into mail server "pop.mail.yahoo.com" failed". I have tried several times and am sure I used the correct user name, email address and password for the yahoo email account. I can use this email account by going into it via yahoo.com. What am I doing wrong? Do all email accounts that I use with Apple main need to be registered with my att isp?
    Thank you

    Mulder,
I have the same situation - that is, I have a paid Yahoo! account - because I subscribe to ATT DSL. But, my question is, can I set up an email account with my iMail (Apple mail on the iMac) for my wife to use? Somewhat separate from MY email account with my .Mac accout?
That is, I have a .Mac (mobile me, now?) account and I have an email associated with it, with the domain of @mac.com. I'd like to set up a mail box on our iMac for my wife to send and receive mail with. I want to keep that mailbox different from my mailbox so our mail doesn't get mixed together.
Is it possible/allowed to do so? Or does .Mac allow for only one 'account'?
    Thanks!
    David

  • Add account in Apple Mail greyed out

After migration to Yosemite I imported added my accounts and imported my mailboxes in Apple Mail. This seemed to work fine.
Now I want to add another mail account in Apple Mail (preferences -> accounts) and I cannot click the + (plus) as it is greyed out.
I then added the account through system settings and it appeared in Mail.
After a while (about an hour of inactivity) this account disappears from both Mail and system preferences.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Found this and trying it myself . . . https://discussions.apple.com/message/23992956#23992956. Sounds plausible but it is a work around. Apple should look into it . . .

  • HT204074 I have a PC at work and a Mac at home. Both run Itunes under same Apple ID account.  How can I sync both computers to a common song library?  ITunes Match?

I have a PC at work and a Mac at home. Both run Itunes under same Apple ID account.  Each computer's itunes library is common by around 75% of the songs.  How can I sync both computers to a common song library, so that all songs can be updated for both computers?  Will ITunes Match do that?

I solved this by reset of the Wifi (unplug cable and power to both modem and wifi ... wait 60 sec ... plug in modem cable and power ... plug in wifi power and LAN to modem ... restart AppleTV and Mac ... Turn Home Share 'OFF' in iTunes then back "ON" ... it took ~60 sec for the AppleTV to pick up my Mac in computers.

  • I cannot sign in.  "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store.  Please review your account information."  I click "Review", next message "You must turn on cookies to continue.   Cookies must be enabled if you want to create or edit.. etc."

I applied and received an upgrade code to Redeem Mountain Lion for my new MBP.
I get this message when I try to Sign in to the App Store after entering the redemption content code, and also if I just try to "Sign In".   The first part of the error is true - I haven't used the AppleID with the iTunes store.
I received the upgrade code using this same AppleID, so I don't think I can use a different AppleID.
I also tried to re-create this appleID...(it was one suggestion I saw for this issue) It doesn't let me since the ID already exists...
    The error is:
"This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store.  Please review your account information."  I click "Review", next message "You must turn on cookies to continue.   Cookies must be enabled if you want to create or edit.. etc."
It's clearly not a cookie issue..   Stuck...

The first part of the error is true - I haven't used the AppleID with the iTunes store.
Try here >  Using an existing Apple ID with the iTunes Store and Mac App Store
received the upgrade code using this same AppleID, so I don't think I can use a different AppleID.
    Correct.
It's clearly not a cookie issue..
As for cookies. Quit the App Store. Now open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder.
Type this exactly as you see it here:   ~/Library/Cookies
Click Go the move the   com.apple.appstore.plist   file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
    Relaunch the App Store.

  • How to get Apple ID and password that is different to iTunes store account which I have already activated and completed contracts, tax information and bank information I want to create a Paid Books Account use apple ID

I was given this address from the Apple customer support team.
I have an active existing iTunes store account and use the same Apple ID for signing into my iTunes Connect Account that distributes Apps.
I have created some books using the iBook author and in order to distribute content on the iBookstore I have been told electronically that I need a new Apple ID and password that is different to iTunes store account which I have already activated and completed contracts, tax information and bank information valid until 2013?
I want to create a Paid Books Account using the same email address, tax information and bank information. This has been most frustrating, as I cannot get passed the sign in section and there is no contact person I can speak to. I was of the understanding the iTunes connect account and the Developer programs which I paid good money for is all what I needed to be paid for selling iBooks on the iBookstore???
I only have one email address and wish to also use it for the Paid Books Account. I have books ready to be exported and published.
I am also having trouble locating and downloading iTunes Producer. I understand I need to have the Paid Books Account active to access the iTunes Producer program. Please help.

    Hi Lrwill,
If the apps that are on your son's iPad were purchased under his Dad's Apple ID, then signing your Apple ID onto the iPad will not help you with updating those apps.
Also, if the iPad was sync'd with his Dad's iTunes library, then hooking it up to your computer/iTunes library, will require you to reset the iPad, and everything that was loaded under the other Library and Apple ID will be wiped out.
Can you provide a little more info about what was set up under which Apple ID and what iTunes library the iPad was sync'd with?
    Cheers,

  • How do I move DVD digital copies from my iphone to a new computer's itunes account, same Apple ID?

I just got a MacBook Pro and I also have an iphone. My current main itunes is on a PC that I will not use any longer. I have several movies on my iphone which came with DVD's as digital copies, not purchased through itunes store.
In the past, I've lost these kinds of movie digital copies through syncing my phone on a new computer. I don't want this to happen again but I am totally lost since these are not itunes purchases.
How can I sync my iphone on my new mac's itunes and not "erase and replace" all the movies currently on my phone? Or how can I get them onto my Mac's itunes account so when I do sync my iphone, they'll still be there?
    Thanks!

It's best to copy from your old computer to your new computer before syncing your phone with your new computer for the first time:
    http://osxdaily.com/2010/03/21/copy-itunes-library-from-a-pc-to-a-mac/
If everything were from the iTunes Store, you could do this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1329
Since it's not all from the iTunes Store, you should copy your library from your old computer to your new one, as noted above. If that's not possible and you can use only your phone as the file source, you will need to use a third-party utility such as Senuti:
    http://www.fadingred.com/senuti/
There are many similar utilities. Some work just as well as Senuti and are even free.

  • Can you use two different iTunes accounts in Apple TV

My wife and I have our own iTunes accounts which we use on our separate iPhones, but on the same Macbook. Can we use these separate accounts on Apple TV. Not at the same time of course.
    Thanks

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
How do you run your two separate accounts.
If they are part of the same library then you can access content from both iTunes accounts at the same time.
If they are different libraries in the same user account and you switch them then you can access content from whichever library is active at the time.
If you have two user accounts you can access both libraries at the same time providing both user accounts are running and iTunes is open in each (this option is mac only)

  • ITunes - Fraudulent account activity, Apple refusing to help

Got 2 email receipts from iTunes last night, for 2 gift cards, one for £25 and one for £75.
Logged into my iTunes account via iTunes and there they were in my purchase history, sent to some unknown hotmail address.
Removed my card details and changed my password.
Contacted iTunes through their email support to get Apple to cancel those gift cards and issue a refund.
Got a reply in 90 minutes with an offer of 5 song credits and a clear "we cannot refund your card" along with a "contact your financial institution".
After another 3 emails form me, and 3 back from Apple I'm still left with the same line "we cannot refund your card". Sent them one more email last night which has so far been ignored.
Contacted the bank this morning only to be told they can't do anything as it's a checking account not a credit card(!) They informed me that it is Apple's responsibility to refund the money as it is down to them to ensure the transactions are authorised.
I'm heading down to the bank to fill out a charge back claim form which they will send to Apple but that's all they can do...
    This is beyond ridiculous.
    1) There should be a phone number for the iTunes store at least for fraudulent account activity.
    2) Apple, like any other company CAN refund money to a card, saying they "cannot" is a downright lie.
    3) Apple must be in breach of every consumer trading law in the UK (I use the UK store) with this policy.
    4) I use a secure password, I use trusted networks and no-one has access to my Mac. How the **** did the hacker get in?
    5) What should I do when both Apple and the bank refuse to help? To be honest I'm not annoyed at the bank as it's not their fault. This is a security breach of Apple's system and they're liable in my opinion.
I've bought 700 items through iTunes since it started and this is how they treat me. Well no more. That gravy train is over for them.
And don't get me started on the thousands upon thousands of pounds I've spent on Apple hardware and software...

    Thanks for the info.
Annoyingly the rep in question (someone called Judy) refuses to escalate the issue to somene who can look into this and perform the refund.
This is absolutely ridiculous, you're basically left with no-one to talk to (she/they are now ignoring my follow-up emails) , I've never seen anything like it. I've heard bad things about the likes of Paypal and eBay but Apple seem keen to add themselves to the list of sites not to trust due to a complete lack of customer service and boilerplate responses. Heck, Im sure last year (or it may be this coming Jan 1st) UK law changed to require online retailers to post their telephone number on the site...
This useless rep is quoting me US Federal Law when I'm using the UK iTunes store and the terms and conditions on there clearly state that the transaction is covered under UK law...
And UK law says they have to refund me.
I've dealt with Apple for years, I've used the AppleCare helpline and the Genius bar many times and every time service has been A1. I'm genuinely amazed that this type of customer service goes on on the iTunes store... And especially about such a serious issue.

  • ITunes account and Apple ID in Apple Discussion

Hi, I recently want to create an iTunes Account, however during the process in validating my email, it says that my email account has already an Apple ID. Does this mean that the Apple ID I use here in the discussion Forum is the same of that of iTunes Account? I would like to believe so because when I tried to change the password in iTunes, then logging in Apple Discussion, the same password was accepted when I had it changed. In iTunes, I cannot go further. When I log in iTunes account using my username and password here in Apple Discussion, iTunes does not accept it.
    Thank you for the help.

My Apple ID is the same for Apple Discussions and iTunes...
Your Apple ID can also be called:
    * Apple account
    * MobileMe account
    * .Mac account
    * iTunes Store account
    * iChat/AIM name
See this page for more about Apple ID.

  • Is there any way I can delete songs from my Mac, without deleting it from my iTunes account, so it can still be in my iCloud? So I can put it on my iPod?

I have to delete all my music off my Mac, but I want them available on my account so I can redownload them without getting charged. I do not want to sign up for Match, because I do not want to pay. Please help.

If every song you have on the computer came from Apple's iTunes store you can download most of them again using the Purchased tab as Matt said. But notice I said most. Apple sometimes loses the rights to music for one reason or another and if that's happened with any of your purchased songs they won't be available. Of course songs you ripped from CDs or music you purchased in any other manner won't be downloadable. Matt's advice to transfer your music to another hard drive is very good.
